I will be getting sleeved on Wednesday and I am so excited and nervous at the same time. Goodness, this forum keeps me sane for the most part. It so encouraging to read the successes of others and to gain some insight into the road that lies before me.

I'm having surgery in 4 days and I am nervous about transitioning from eating for a need and eating cause its there. Anyone want to share their experiences??

I get sleeved on Wed and I completely understand!! I pray alot and focus on WHY I'm doing this. I also have created a board on Pinterest called "The After Bod" lol and I pick out clothes I'll be wearing in a short time You will do great!!! Just breathe and think on all the good stuff that comes after!!!!

I am having mu surgery on the 17th and have moments of GRAND nervousness. Can you provide me with some good words, advice, encouragement? I need it. Thank you!!!!!!

Externally I was dead set against weight loss surgery, internally, I wanted and needed change. I had been on two rounds of phentermine, I had lost gained and lost gained. I was so tired of the rollercoaster and then one day my sister told me she was having the sleeve. I looked at her (now realizing with envy) and said "I would do it on my own, I didn't need help!" She knew all to well my struggles as she had been on the same journey her entire life. The final straw was just a few months later when my sister was about 2 months post op, and I called her crying, depressed again about my weight. She said to me "You can continue trying on your own without success for an additional 2-3 years, or in 2-3 years be healthy and happy." She was right and I began the process the following week. My surgery is next Wednesday and I am READY for a change.... a good change.

Wow! It is interesting to hear. I guess everyone is different. I am praying that my emotions don't get the best of me.

I talked to my surgeon today and she stressed the importance of being emotionally and mentally healthy. She expressed that she has had a few patients become extremely depressed, experiencing "buyers remorse" and "mourning" The loss of their stomach. Has anyone been through this?

Yay!!!! I signed mine today too!!!! Now 7 days of pre op!!!! Ugggggh!!! Lol

Be Encouraged!!! It WILL work and you will work IT!!! You have the willingness to go through with it and now you will be obedient to doing whatever it is you need to in order to help the weight drop!!! You, WE can and will do this ..... And well!!

I am so excited to begin this journey. My insurance approved my surgery and I will know Monday my date. Either the 17th or 25th of this month!!!! I have moments of overwhelming nervousness and then I remember WHY I'm doing this. I am trusting God for an excellent surgery.

Let your friend know that God desires for us to be healthy spiritually and physically. If we are sick in our bodies, how can we steward over and enjoy what He has blessed us with? Obesity is an illness and God has given man the wisdom and know how to create a surgery that can assist in curing this disease one person at a time. Wouldnt she want you healed, healthy and happy? Tell her to not be afraid. Only your appearance will change and not your character and that you love her and would like her support and encouragement. If our God would not want you to prosper in this, every door would have been closed, not the opppsite. Be blessed!
