  1. 1/2 cup of food is 4 oz and that's about the size of food/meal I was told to eat, every two hours. Over that amount, you're over eating. Eating slower too, would help also! I am 7 years post op and still have the problem you are describing. Laying down on your back helps with the pain for some reason. At least it does to me. Good Luck!
  2. Now I want to know if anyone is having a problem with the alcohol effecting you more now? Getting drunk to easily?
  3. Hello all Sept 2012 sleevers! Was wondering how everyone is doing? I lost a total of 77 lbs but just recently started gaining some weight. Only 8 lbs but I am concerned.
  4. I have just recently experienced stiffness in my hands. I googled it and it may be a Vitamin D deficiency so I went to my GP and he checked my levels, all is fine so now we are ruling out RA and other possibilities. But I have started to take more vitamins and I do feel better!
  5. I was wondering if anyone has any interest in meeting up
  6. I sure hope that my tummy doesn't reject those....2 of my favorites! My desire for food and taste is very low...I just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem before I call the dr.... I kinda want to wait to see if it happens again....
  7. yes I use to drink apple juice regularly and steak is in my diet almost 4 nights of the week...
  8. I drank about 4 oz of cold apple juice the other morning. I drank it slow. After I finished about 3 minutes later I had a horrible burning feeling all in my stomach. Then it happened again a few days later when I ate 3 oz of steak. I had to throw up to get rid of the feeling. This has never happened to me before, has this happened to anyone else? Today marks 2 years and 70 lbs!

  10. how I got around this was I chewed what I wanted and spit it out.....so I got the taste of it and the feeling of chewing - good luck!
  11. Hi - I was sleeved 9/25, live in NJ, on 10/28 I flew to St. Marteen. My only problem was that I really wasn't on solid food yet so I had to take with me my protein shakes. It was hard because we were with a bunch of friends who loved to eat, but I adapted quickly! Good luck and safe travels!
  12. Hi Everyone! It's been 5 months for me! It hasn't been easy but I don't think its been that hard either. The hard parts were probably due to my lack of listening to the Drs. Has anyone gone to the support groups? Does your DR offer support groups? There is one in Hamilton (Mercer County) on Wednesday night. I am contemplating going. I just want to hear what people are going through since I think I'm just a mundane patient. Does that make sense? I'm still not up to eating 4 oz at one sitting. 3 oz is more like it. My hair is thinning. I am having problems with the vitamins - they make my stomach sick. I can't stand the chewable ones so my NUT says the regular ones are ok for me. Since Sept, I have gone on 2 vacations. 1. Was a week in St. Marteen where we rented a house so I could cook my own food. 2. Was a Cruise - at first I was terrified about the food on a cruise - we all know they train you to eat 22 hours a day so when you come home you want to book another cruise just to eat!! But it seemed good. I spoke to the waiter every night telling them I had surgery on my stomach and could only eat 4 oz at a time and protein comes first. They were all great - and they plated my dish specially for me so I didn't feel like I was left out on the wonderful food. The buffet came in handy too - it's a shame all that food that people just pile on their plates - kinda gross really! Any how, Lent is treating me hard though. Fridays are tough....Since I normally eat beef/chicken - so I am finding cheese will not sustain me on a friday - I'll have to go to the fish store! So that's how I'm doing! How are you??? I'm glad to see people are getting to know local sleevers! Have a wonderful day Bumbles down 50 lbs!
  13. it is sticky, clear and very slimy.....very gross
  14. had this happen to me tonight - it was gross....I couldn't clear my mouth because it was so damn sticky and it was hard to spit it out....I eventually threw up now its been about a 1/2 hour and I still feel gross!
  15. I know someone who had this done 5 years ago and still can't eat an egg
  16. funny thing, I too ate a pickle too first thing off! I think or believe, when you crave something, your body is telling you that it is missing that nutrient - what nutrient do Dill pickles offer??

  18. It would be easier for me if I was back on protein shakes. I can drink the protein shakes or I can eat protein, but not both, at least not within 6 hours of each other.....
  19. Hi all I live in the Upperfreehold/Robbinsville/Allentown New Jersey area. I am looking for fellow sleevers in the area. Maybe we can get together and support each other. I have a few questions every now and then and would be nice to have someone local, rather than on the internet. Hope you answer!!
  20. oh also, I'm afraid I'm not getting all my fluids and protien in - it is so hard!
  21. I feel the same way - first off, I have no desire to eat. My husband has to remind me to eat. Second, if I cook something, there is so much left over it seems so wasteful. I tend to eat the same stuff over and over. I do get depressed a bit. matter of fact, my husband and friend went out to dinner tonight - I passed because I knew I couldn't sit through watching them eat.....
  22. Wow! I actually live in NJ - but my son lives in Mooresville - Up here in NJ doesn't seem like there is anyone close by who has had this done! Wish I lived down there for more support!! Good Luck everyone!! BTW I was sleeved 9/25 lost 40 lbs so far!! Again, Good luck to all!!!
  23. Isajck, what is post weight loss lollypop look? I have a fear of losing too much weight also. I was 220# 5' 6", when my DR suggested this surgery. My husband and I were both dumbfounded that he suggested I do this. I knew I was overweight, but not obese in my mind. My BMI was border line 35. But post-op 5 weeks I was taken off my blood pressure medicine. Now my concern is losing my eyesight because the vitamins are nasty. My brother's friend went through this but he gained his sight back. So to date, in 8 weeks, I've lost 37 pounds in 8 weeks.....I just think it's coming off way to easily. My DR says I'm right on track. At what point does one stop losing weight? I know I'm crazy and in 5 months I'll be complaining but my mind does wonder.....
  24. Is anyone else experiencing bad constipation? Also, sometimes my stools are very light in color almost white. I am on vacation in the caribbean right now, can not wait to get back to the states so I can call my DR. I'm concerned.....
