  1. No sharts, no gas issues neither cavity or inside tummy, very little to no pain, did have to do 12 days of shots but they are truly nothing. You must manage bowel movements...do not let it go more than a day or two before taking action. Hospital gown does not come off until you are asleep and its back before you wake up. Most of this surgery, in my humble opinion, is all about figuring out what you CAN do.. Can i sneeze without being afraid i will hurt my incision? Can i roll onto my side with no pain? How much can i drink without stretching myunhaled incision too far? Can i wear these jeans for two hours while i run to town? Etc etc.... Just like you, I liked knowing about anything that could possibly happen so that i would know what to do about it. I was one of the lucky ones that breezed through the surgery. Hope you do too!

    Frustrated

Im with crocon. Try to change the way you are reacting. This is not a "huge setback.". It could very well be time you really need ...a time to adjust your mindset for success, your habits, and a time to wrap up some of the other requirements for surgery...if you have them. It took me a cople of rounds with every test because i ended up with follow-up from each one. Just decide that whatever they throw at you, you will not let it stop you from acquiring your final goal. There is some old saying that is relevant... Its not what happens to you thats important. Its your reaction that counts!

    Tummy belt

There was one posted as good that i ordered from motherhood.com. Its just a stretchy tube. I ordered it too big but still tried it the day i came home...thought it might feel good lying down to sleep. It really, for me, was a waste of money. Perhaps a smaller one would have helped and i would have felt more positive about it. It was only $17-18 dollars plus shipping. Also the top edge ran very close to my top incision...just something to thinkabout. I bought way to much for those first few days, which just fly by so make sure to carefully consider how to spend your money. I had too much powdered Protein, too many meds, and many gimicky things like tiny dishes, tiny silverware, tummy supporter, etc. You will blast through those first few weeks so fast you just wont believe it and will settle back into a more normal routine where you really wont need all that.
  7. Happy birthday Amy! So happy for you!

    Need quick advise

You still need some carbs. Try some g2. I was really weak and had absolutely no energy so doc had me up my carbs from 30 gr to 50 for a bit. Changed me from g2 to regular gatorade for a few days. Felt much better and have had no probs since. I use my fitness pal and keep carbs at about 30 and fat goal is 20 but im not meeting it yet. Protein goal is 80 and i end up at about 90-100. And of course talk to your dr and nut.

    One month post op

Very few of us lose in a steady downward direction. We lose in a stairstep fashion. These are major changes for our bodies and all our systems need a chance to adjust. You know what youre eating and you know you will lose. Be confident and stay the course.

  19. GOOD LUCK AMY! I know you will be super busy doing all those little last minute things moms and wives do before leaving the family to fend for themselves for a few days so want to make sure to send you a big hug and well wishes for the coming week. Cant wait to read your update posts during the next few days. Youve wormed your way into our hearts as youve questioned, agonized, researched, ditched the idea and then finally decided to go for it! I know i speak for your entire vst family when i say, please have a safe, swift trip, an uneventful surgery and know we all have you in our thoughts and prayers. Best wishes!
