October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
I'm just 6 hours away from setting off for the hospital. Tomorrow is D Day. Or Sleeve Day. I'm planning on staying awake tonight as I don't fancy getting up at 4am. I can sleep all weekend! I'm starting to wonder if they'll put mine off because I've been hit by a cold. It's not full on yet but it's trying. I'm doing what I can to nip it in the bud but I think I'm fighting a losing battle. All I can think is sneezing is gonna hurt like hell over the next few days!

Fab 40's shout out
Hello, I turned 40 in July. Single mum to one. He's 19 and a charmer but he's slowly sending me grey with his lifestyle choices. Every cloud has a silver lining though. It gives me an excuse to treat myself to hair dye My surgery is on Friday. I don't know what time but I've got to be at the hospital by 7am so that means getting a train at 5am. I don't think I'll do much sleeping tomorrow night! I'm starting to get nervous now as I'll be going on my own. Eek!

October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
I've got 2 more sleeps and then it's my turn on the 12th. I'm starting to get a little bit nervous now. I went for my pre-op assessment on monday and the nurse said if I haven't lost any weight then the surgeon won't operate. But she didn't say since when! Now the last time they weighed me before Monday was back in April and since then I've gained abt 3kgs. (Lots of stress at work with 3 work mates getting life threateningly ill plus I wasn't really trying to be good then). If she means since April, I might not get my surgery. If they mean since I started the pre-op diet, how will they know? I'd been on it 4 days before I got weighed. (I don't own any scales). Maybe she was just trying to scare me into staying on the diet, which I have done anyway. Maybe they mean between the assessment and the surgery. Who knows?! I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. There's no way I haven't lost any weight on a less than 800 calorie per day diet.

Explain Your Name!
My name is Joanne and when I was little my nanna used to call me Jojiblossom, which often got shortened to Jojiblo. Family still use the shortened version now and I'm 40!

Am I Losing My Mind?
Sounds like you need to remind yorself that you are finally doing something about it and from here on in, you can now work towards being the person you wish you had been back then. Give yourswelf credit for doing something about it now. Lots of people don't get this far. Is there any way you can renew your vows and get a new wedding dress to take some more pics? Or maybe when you're finally happy to see yourself in photos, buy yourself a drop dead gorgeous dress and book a professional photography session.

October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
Hiya. Yep, opposite end of the UK to you. I'm from Sussex. I'm having my op on the 12th and like you, am full of excitement and a little bit of fear. How did your surgery go?

October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
'Ello folks, my name is Jo and I've just turned 40, single mum to one 19yr old son. I live in Sussex which is in the south of England. My op date is Fri Oct 12th. I was only told 3 days ago that this is happening so it's a bit of a whirlwind! My surgeon has put me on a weightwatchers soup and low fat yoghurt pre-op diet which sucks but I know it could be worse! I can't remember what my current weight is (I don't own scales) but I'll find out tomorrow. Pleased to meet you all

3 Days Post Op
Thanx for posting this. I'm having my op next Friday 12th and it's really helpful to know what might happen. Now I won't get anxious if I get the same thing.

New To The Site
Hi. I know how you feel. I just signed up today. I got a call 2 days ago to say I'm having my op on the 12th October! I'm missing my cider a little bit and I think my body has gone into shock from my first 2 days (in decades) without chocolate but if that's what it takes to get my op next week, bring it on! Excited!!!
