Guess, I really SHOULD do some work today, lol!!!!! Since I got the house to myself, there shouldn't be a hundred distractions, lol!!! What do you want to bet, I won't get ANYTHING done, lol!!!!!! Have a great day everyone!! Jeanie, I am like that. The more time to myself the less I accomplish. I always end up reading or resting. Now I am suppose to do that so I will. I had a sf fudgcicle today and it tasted funny. Maybe it is residual anesthesia affecting taste. So far, water tastes best. I might try some broth later. I took a shower and feel semi normal now. Put on a little makeup. I am going to curl up and read the lastest Harry Potter that I have been saving for after surgery. I have been walking in circles around the house since it is raining outside. 1bigwdy and ribearty, Welcome Back!! Good to hear you made it through surgery so well. Ribearty, sorry you are having so much discomfort. Hope it improves soon. Lynette good to see you have your computer working finally. I am doing well post op. Look forward to chatting with you since I have more time. If you get a chance would you pm me your chicken salad recipe. I don't know where in these messages it is posted and I would like to have it for when I get to mushies. Jeanie swears by it. Have fun at the flea market. Kathy, hope you are doing well this am. You too, Ruby.

Alesha, I am sorry you are feeling so bad. I felt pretty good the day after surgery. I think I did too much so now I a really sore. Hope you feel better as the day progresses. Jeanie, This is a great day to nap and read. However, I really need to walk some and can't do that in the rain. Maybe I will get my son to go to walmart with me and I can walk there. I cleaned out the refrigerator and bought stuff for me and now there is no food for my mother or son. Tell me who I was thinking about before surgery:) Where did you say you lived? Chim, my doc doesn't even want me driving until maybe Monday. He wants to see me in the office on Thursday. I guess we will talk about work then. I asked for 2 weeks off.

Hi Chimboree, I am up also. I think I just did too much yesterday so I will take it easy today. I can't go outside and walk. It is raining all day today...dreary day. I am sore this am but slept really great. I took tylenol. If it doesn't help I will take my pain med. No need trying to be stoic. I am sipping on my carnation instant breakfast now. I haven't tried adding the protein powder yet...takes too much effort. Caolin, seems to me you are feeling very well. I meant to answer the other day about cpap. I have had one for about 2 years. You get used to it pretty quick and now I don't like sleep without it. I can, but like Jeanie, I sleep better and feel better with it. Jeanie, we will be chatting alot now that I am off work too. Have to check in with this group often or there is so much to read. Chim, will you do a final calendar after the end of July so we have a final list of everyone who had surgery? I would appreciate it. NewCC, I am sorry you are so nauseated. They used Zophran on me and I had no nausea. Ruby, hope you are feeling well today. Jainie, I don't know if I could stick to such a strict diet. I have 2 weeks full liquids, 1 week mushies, and then solids. Lynette, hope you get that computer working. Now that I am going to be available frequently, I was looking forward to chatting with you. Dini, Marcy, Tinkerbell and all the rest of you... GOOD MORNING!!!

Ruby glad you made it home. I am sorry your day didn't go well. It seems things get better with time. Kathy, I hear you on the sore muscles. My neck is sore too. I am about to take a small dose of pain med and hit the bed. I am just very tired. Cazulay, wow! you came through like a trooper. Isn't great to be on the losing side. I can't imagine having the surgery and going home the same day. Jeanie, thanks for all of your support. You have been a rock for me. Dini, Chim, Lynette, Marcy, Indiogirl, and all those others that are too many to name tonight, thanks for being there for me. I am glad I have joined you all on the losing side.

Jeanie, you have done great. You are not a wimp. I already cannot wait til I can have mushies. Chim, glad you are back and doing so well. I drank a carnation instant Breakfast this evening. Not because I was hungry but because I felt I needed something more than Water. Even though I know liquids go straight through my stomach feels really full. Anyone else feel like this on liquids?

Hi Y'all. I am back. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. They worked. I am doing great. My stomach feels like I did about 100 sit ups. Sore, sore, sore. No gas pains or shoulder pains. My incisions are all real small. The port incision is left side below the ribs and is 1 1/2 to 2 inches. Went in at 8:30 am yesterday. When they gave me some meds and said they were taking me to OR I don't remember anything til I got to my room. I had absolutely no nausea. They had me on a Demerol drip but I didn't press for extra. Got up and walked 2 times yesterday afternoon and evening. The nurses seemed surprised. Had sips of Water yesterday. They did a xray this morning to check the patency of the band. Boy, that stuff is nasty. Everything looked great so I got clear liquid breakfast.. Walked again this morning. I had to also wait until my doc finished surgery to be discharged. Got out of there about 3 pm. Went to the pharmcy to fill my pain med. Don't really need it but I was afrain I might and not have it. It took me forever to catch up on the messages. I am glad to see everyone is doing well post op. Feels great to be on the Loser's Bench. TMI, I already had a BM today. I think I am going to be on the non-constipated side of the fence.

Works very well up north with guys.. I am glad to know y'all have decided to slip on down into the gutter with me. Jeanie, I am like you. I can see the naughty side in alot written here. Makes me laugh out loud :)

Party girl because tomorrow is bandday!!! My doc is HOT, HOT, HOT!!! My daughter went with me to a visit and when he walked out the room for a minute she was like, "Oh my God, He is so HOT!!!" To bad he just got married 2 weeks ago to one of the OR techs at the hospital where I am having surgery. Still...great eye-candy:) Dini, I want a personal trainer to get me started and motivated. GeGe, my nutritionalist recommended buying and using a baby spoon and for the first few months to ensure small bites and slower eating. Just a suggestion.

Dini, I understand what you are talking about. They use real thread stitches inside that are designed to dissolve over time. The stitches she left in your incision probably need to be taken out by now. It has been long enough. You should check with your doctor.

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Dini it takes a while for internal stitches to dissolve. And scars feel lumpy when they are new. That will fade with time. Nothing for you to worry about.

Marcy, I have a few acres and my son was always doing that. I always figured that was the advantage of being a guy. Dini and I don't need too much space. And just think, you would be introducing us to guys continuously hoping to get rid of us quickly Didn't you say you have a lot of friends in law enforcement...hot, hot , hot...

My support comes from this group and my cousin, who had the band in May. People who are experiencing or have experienced what I am going to helps me. My family supports me emotionally but don't really understand. Dini, internal stitches usually dissolve after a period of time. Occasionally one won't and it will work itself to the surface of the skin and come out. Are you talking about a stitch in the external incision? That is easily removed.

what can I say Dini, great minds think alike. I sure hope that is a good size guest room you have Marcy. Dini and I will be sharing. Hopefully we won't be there alot;)

Kathy, my son was in a car wreck a few years ago and one of his injuries was he almost bit his tongue completely off. It has 2 little strips of skin, one on each side holding it on. The did some local and re-attached, not sure if it would take or not. It did and he has never had any problems. You can't even tell it happened. The good thing out of that was he was wanting to pierce his tongue. After that experience, which was extremely painful, he didn't want to anymore...felt like he had already pierced it. Point is, she will do fine and will probably not be able to tell later that it happened. Hugs and kisses to her and her boo boo. :biggrin1:
