My time is now....
"My time is now." I have said these words so many times in the past 14 years. “Starting Monday, I will…..” “After this one big meal, I will….” Now, I have been doing that again. I had surgery on Dec. 20, 2012. You would think that would me my official “My time is now”, but honestly…it wasn’t. I have lost a total of 43.8 lbs. I am SO happy that the weight is coming off – but I am not happy that I am not following the RULES! Since surgery, I have NOT hit my daily protein goals or my water goals. I haven’t started really working out. This is seriously horrible! Sure, I see my weight loss, and I am happy that it’s coming off, but I also am seeing my loose skin starting to show, my hair is starting to thin out, I am exhausted 24x7, and I am dehydrated! So…I am officially kicking myself in my butt. I am going to go HARD the next 3 months. I am making this commitment to myself and all of you (if anyone else is reading this)…I am going to stick to my schedule and put myself first. I am joining the gym that is next door to my job and I am also getting a trainer once a week. I will hit my protein every day, I will drink my water every day, I will walk every day, I will do some sort of exercise Monday-Saturday (but walking only on Sunday). I am going to put an honest effort into this. I want to see what I really can achieve if I truly put my heart and soul into being healthy. My schedule is going to be crazy. I know I will hear some tell me that I am going to overdo it, or that I will burn out. Both can be possible…but I will say that if I really want this, I will push through it. I’m going to BLOG about this as much as possible. I am meeting with my trainer tomorrow for my evaluation. I will post all of my starting stats. I will also give an update at least once a week on how I’m doing. I’m going to stop weighing myself everday – and just check on Thursday’s. My Dr told me to stop weighing all together and start paying attention to how my clothes are feeling. I completely agree and understand what she’s saying, but I know this is a promise I can’t keep. I will keep that in mind, however. I will also take measurements and photos on a monthly basis. I believe this show my true progress. More soon.

Sushi
I was sleeved on 12/20 (almost 3 months ago). I had 2 pieces of CA rolls two nights ago, and it went good. So I just got some for lunch. 3 small pieces down....I will try more later...but I am SO excited that I can even eat it. Shrimp and lobster = no go for me. It comes right back up, not matter how well I chew.

How any people had a stall at 3 weeks and how long
My loss has been really slow. It's totally because im still not hitting my daily requirements. I'm almost 12 weeks out and down 42.

Anyone using a Fitbit?
I'm loving it. I was actually shocked to see how much I don't move durning the work day. I now make sure I get up and walk around every hour. I set a daily goal, so I try really hard to hit it everyday (not that I do, but I aim for it). I think it's the best investment I made in a long time.

I'm 6 weeks out and still really struggle with food. Matter of fact... I haven't gotten my water in a day yet.

Shrimp
My NUT says to avoid shrimp until at least 6 months out. Apparently some people have trouble digesting it.

2lbs....WTH?
I had my 1 month post op appointment on Friday. My Dr told to to pay more attention to how clothes fit then the scale. She also told me now it's really important for me to workout. The scale WILL go down, but it should not be the way I measure success. The scale is an addiction. One that I need to break.

If you were a binge eater before
HI there. I am a serious binge eater (or was). I had surgery on 12/20 and since then, I have had to force myself to eat. I just have no interest in it. However, this past Monday, I was eating Tomato Bisque (from Mimi's - best place ever)...and I lost my mind and ate too fast AND too much. I was in SO much pain!! I tried to throw up and couldn't. I tried walking it off and then rocked myself...it was a dissaster. It did, however, scar me from over eating again. Now I'm really taking things slow - and taking more time between bites. Are you post op?
