  1. Do you really want everyone to handle you with kid gloves every time they speak to you? That isn't realistic. We are all adults. It would be very naive to assume that you can go post on a public form, support forum or not, that is populated by an enormous range of personalities, cultures, experiences and personal biases and think that everything you say and do will be handled like gold. If I had eaten that two weeks out and then came here and posted about it I would hope that I would get my butt kicked by the folks here. Most of us are serious about changing our health and our lives. If you want to be enabled or coddled, there are probably many here that will be happy to accommodate you. Nobody here has bullied in this thread. This is reality. This is blunt stuff. Tough love. Anybody crying tears of blood over this needs to suck their bottom lip back in place and get with the program. And If I fall off the wagon and come here whining about it, kick my butt. I'll be better for it.
  2. How many diets have you been on in the past where you've lost 20lbs in a month? This is a new lifestyle choice, not a diet. Consumers have been conditioned to want and get everything now. Instant gratification. Your body isn't listening to marketing hype and doesn't give a crap about how you are doing compared to others, no matter what the consciousness thinks. Let your body do its thing while you continue to make good choices. Slow or medium progress is better than no progress.
  3. What exactly did you want us to say to you?
  4. I was a huge beer fan pre op. I loved all kinds and did not mind spending extra money on good beer. I loved enjoying good beer with friends on the weekend and trying new types of beer. It was fantastic and refreshing in warmer months and in cooler months it was fun drinking darker and special edition beer. Post sleeve I no longer drink beer and do not plan on doing it again. This choice to have 75% of your stomach removed is not something to take lightly. After you've studied the process and the behavioral expectation, you have to be realistic with yourself for your plans to comply.
  5. Mix unflavored protein powder with pudding or soup or juice or jello or apple sauce or cream of wheat or yogurt or tea or sugar free hot chocolate mix. Just watch the temp. Too hit nullifies the protein.
  6. It's an emotional time. Casting blame won't make anything better. You signed on for a life change, which also includes what goes on in your head. The only behaviors and thoughts you can control are your own. Your choice for vsg and changes since may have been stressful for your husband as well.
  7. I'm having 1t of them in my yogurt for lunch today. So glad you have come over to the seedy side!
  8. I like the Diet Swiss Miss. 25 calories 0 fat 4g carbs 1g Fiber 2g Protein
  9. Same here. I had to lose 40 lbs before even a (very) few people noticed. I guess it will take 20 more or so before others notice. Its ok. I don't talk about how much I've lost.
  10. I can't agree completely. Photos of anorexics in the hospital show that eventually your body will eat muscles and steal from organs and strip bones to survive. I do believe that a person has a "set point" that, based on average calories consumed and exercise habits, will tend to stabilize. You can also reset your set point by changing behaviors.
  11. I think of mine as more of a metallic taste. It may be gross to some but it makes me happy when my mouth tastes like I've been sucking on coins. Then I know I'm in ketosis.
  12. Those taste ok but aren't low calorie and they also give some people gas and diarrhea, especially if they eat several.
  13. The sleeve is a tool, not a magic wand. Head hunger is a challenge you will need to address without caving in to cravings. Show yourself some tough love. One option is to cut out sugar period. Another is to indulge, but only with low fat, sugar free options. Then there is that other choice to just eat chocolate when you want to. But if you elect to do that then why bother with a sleeve? Just be obese. You won't find many enablers here. You will find a lot of people going through the same thing and who will support your efforts towards better health.
  14. Wow. I just stumbled across this and watched the videos. Serious wake up call. There is no amount of fussing and crying, no feeling sorry for yourself and cheating, no skipping exercise, no grazing, no lying, no self decption that gets past the reality of the consequences of addiction to food. Dominique Lanoise, a 600-pound food addict, remains trapped in her bedroom -- and desperate to lose weight. TLC reports on her story at 9 p.m. Wednesday in “600-Pound Mom: Race Against Time.” http://www.foxnews.com/health/2012/12/05/600-pound-woman-desperate-to-lose-weight-walk-again/?intcmp=features
  15. I was always curious about this produce, but for some very strange reason they do not ship to certain states.
  16. Nothing to do but to keep faithful to your nutritional plan. This part will go by quickly and you'll be moving to the next stage in no time. In the meantime, read a book, give yourself a pedicure, work a crossword puzzle, call an old friend, do a watercolor, clean the windows, ...you get the idea. Its tough, no doubt. We all have to do it.
  17. I love how they taste with lots of mustard, but they are so full of sulfites that I don't even eat the turkey ones that are 40 calories each anymore.
  18. I love to hear this and can almost feel the joy. It takes a lot of difficult days to get to the point that you are now. Enjoy every single second of it and I hope it spills over into the rest of your week and weekend!
  19. Yep. This has been covered in the forums many times. I think that OPs may not be tagging their posts with keywords. Same happened to me. I started about two hours before surgery. Just let them know.
  20. How flattering!!! Certainly something to think about first. I'm 44 and my boyfriend was 30 when we met. It is probably the sweetest, healthiest relationship I've been in. (The whole 7 months so far.)
  21. Have you started training for a half marathon yet?
  22. Establish your meal and snack times - 5 - 6 daily, and don't eat between. We are conditioned to feel like it is some horrible fate to feel hunger. It isn't. We just aren't accustomed to it. Hungry between meals/snacks? It's ok. Feel hungry. Desensitize yourself to it. Drink something. Get busy. Nothing bad is going to happen to you because you feel hunger.
