    Best protein bar?

Quest bars taste pretty good and so do the pure protein bars.
  4. I wonder why some docs make patients do a 2 week liquid and some don't? They say it is suppose to shrink your liver so that they can move it easier to perform the surgery.
  5. I don 't know. Did you plan on doing a food farewell, like some people do?

    Waiting process

    Mine works like susanfaye's also
  9. With my insurance I was told that they go by your beginning weight and BMI so if you lose a lot before surgery you will still qualify for surgery. I had to do the 6 month diet and each month for 2 wks. I would drink protein shakes. My last weigh in is Jan. 16 and I have lost 22 lbs. Start drinking those shakes!

    pant suze not changing

I learned a long time ago that every 10lbs. you lose should be a size. So what gives?

    Ugh i want food..

Are you day 7 of your pre op diet? You can do it ! Don't eat anything that you are not suppose to, I have heard of people who did that and their surgery was canceled. If you are day 7 post op I hear that it will get better, hang in there!
  12. At my clinic everyone has to do a 2wk. pre op diet- Unjury and some other things like sf pudding, sf jello, fresh veggies.

    You look fantastic!
  15. Amy I am right there with you, this is the last month of my 6 month diet monitoring. I diet for 2 weeks then I go back to eating what I want. It has to come to an end though because I should also be sleeved in February. I have met all of my requirements except my 2 hr. nutrition class and to meet with my surgeon. Remember there will be a lot of things that you eat now that you will eventually be able to eat. You might have to modify some of your recipes to make them healthier. You can find a lot of high protein low carb recipes on the Internet, I plan to try some of the recipes out now before surgery. From reading this forum I have learned that a lot of sleevers eat what they want, but in moderation. I am hoping that I lose my sweet tooth, but if not I will have to find some alternatives for what I use to eat. I have waited to long for this surgery and I plan to make the most of the weight loss window. Good luck and I will see you in Feb. on the losers bench.

    Denied, fighting depression.

Make an appointment with your PCP and tell him/her that you need to have diet monitoring for 6 months ( actually 7 the 1st. doesn't count) for WLS. Did your Bariatric Clinic give you a form for your doctor to fill out each month?
  17. Thanks for the pics. you look awesome!

    Denied, fighting depression.

Next month will be my 7th month of the so called 6 month diet - the first month doesn't count because you are just beginning. I have been frustrated the whole 6 months, I too believe that insurance could have looked at my weight from the previous years to see that I have lost and gained weight. The time has not flown by for me I have lost 21lbs. but I am constantly thinking about what I eat. I have been reading this forum and another one every day waiting my turn. If I get denied I will not be able to have the surgery, going to Mexico is not an option- no money, 3 children (1 has special needs) to take care of. My plan B is that I will have to drink protein drinks and exercise until I lose all of my weight. Choose whichever option you are most comfortable with?

    protein shake help.

I like the Unjury and their chicken soup is really good. I also like Chike but it does foam. Chike has a cold coffee that mt NUT said I could use but it is not a meal replacement.
  22. Yes it is possible. Because of my insurance I have to do the 6 months diet monitoring and I am in month 5 and I have made sure that I have shown a loss for each month. I have been using protein drinks and bars to help me.
