Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
greenfamily004 replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Kparker- I've done the same thing the past few days. Ok. Are you ready for this. One day I ate lots if chips and dip. That was a first since well before surgery. I have been out of control for a few days. I'm not sure what is going on. All I want to do is munch on stuff. Well after the chip episode, I trashed it all so I wouldn't eat again. Maybe it's boredom. Kids are still home from Christmas Break. They go back on Monday so at that point.... I'm going to force myself to get off the couch and take some water aerobic classes. I've got to start exercising. -

Researching info You have done such a fantastic job!!! I love my Sleeve and know that I wouldn't be where I am today without it!!! I tried on my first pair of size 12 jeans today and had no problem fitting into them!!! I admit, I look better in clothes than without them but I am so happy!!! Gettinmeback - thanks. I usually stay between 600-800 cal. I noticed that most NUTS recommend more calories at least 1000. I'm not sure I'd loose as well doing that. I try and do a few regular calorie days and then up them about two days to shake things up. I was just wondering what works for everyone. -

Newgirlie So glad to read your post. I'm 3 months out and have seen a few stalls. I know it's normal but since surgery I've lost 42 pounds. I think it's a little slow and my Doctor said its a little less than expected but he always just says you were a smaller Bariatric patient (surgery date 215) your weight may be slower. I'm so glad to read that there is hope that this weight will still drop. My highest weight was 241 January of this year. -

MDM don't leave. We are all here for each other to celebrate losses and to help each other through stalls. I've been in a stall for two weeks and it finally broke today. I too get caught up in comparing myself to others and I know I shouldn't. It's hard not to when we have all been through so much just to be here today. You are an asset to this forum and we need you. -

How many calories do you eat? The question of calories is a mind blowing thing to me. Prior to surgery, I averaged between 1100-1200 calorie days. I did loose weight but it was slow. I've always been pretty good at keeping carbs down as well. Reason for surgery was even thought I didn't really eat bad I couldn't loose the weight. Now after surgery my calorie intake is 600-800 a day. I'm still a slow looser. My Nut says I need more calories. A minimum of 800 a day. Says my body thinks its in starvation mode and doesn't wanting to let go of anything. I'm amazed that a bariatric patient can even consume the amount of calories that i was getting before surgery. Makes no sense to me. I'm 3 months out. I've seen other people have increased calories to like 1000 or so a day. I mean what the hell??? We didn't go through all this to be able to eat what I was eating before surgery. What's your thoughts my friends???? -

KParker your doing great!!! NGM - I hear ya. I've got arthritis is my hip. Bone doc said for me to swim for exercise so I can keep my hip as long as possible. Even walking can irritate it. Getting older is no joke. -
