  1. Thanks! That's what I do, but I guess I need to take even smaller bites..
  2. I hear a lot of people talking about too much air getting in while eating. How can you avoid that? Air is all around us...
  3. Thank God I'm not alone in this Lol
  4. Welcome! I was sleeved on 9/17 and it went great! Sounds like the same kind of process like lap band. You might have to be on puréed longer (not sure if banders go straight to regular food right away). Protein is extremely important with the sleeve. You must get that in first. Remember, you'll be full after 4-5 bites, so make sure you stop when satisfied & not full or you will feel discomfort....best of luck to you! So glad I did this.
  5. Is anyone else experiencing loud rumblings after eating? How embarrassing sitting in a meeting & this happens! I know I didn't eat fast at all & I always wait 1/2 hour to drink....
  6. Left the hospital on purée for 2 weeks. Now at week 3 starting on soft foods. Cut up chicken, eggs, chunkier soups...all DRS are different.
  7. I've been in a stall since I came home from the hospital. I hope the scale is just broke because everything is loose on my & people are starting to ask me if I've list weight. So don't worry, it's coming off!
  8. By time I take my small bites, wait a bit in between & take another bite my food is basically cold.....lol
  9. You're welcome. At times we do need a little comic relief on this journey! And oh - what a great profession - dog trainer! I commend you!!
  10. Lol. Totally. My dog runs from whatever room she's in when she sees me heading to the dining room table. I'm still trying to only cook what I know I'll be able to eat, but so far having no luck! Hehe..
  11. I have to say that my dog is really benefiting from all the food that I can't finish!! Lucky Dog....
  12. You people are the BEST... So glad I found this site. Anything I have a question about there always seems to be a topic on it.
  13. That's a great idea Artsong. Someone also recommended buying a baby spoon & that's what I'm going to do.
  14. First, my condolences on your loss. Your belly will go down significantly. I was back to work in 2 weeks & family & friends told me how noticeably flatter my belly looked.
  15. I hear ya! That's what I thought & I'm also trying to get in what I'm supposed to at almost 3 weeks out. I don't know jf I envy those people who can eat just a few weeks out..
  16. Thanks Andy! You do have a steel sleeve! Good luck to you also...
  17. Thanks! Just curious.. I do know we have to wait awhile & I'm not craving it or anything. Reason I asked is I was watching a YouTube video & the woman was 2 weeks post- op & went to a wedding & had meatballs & pasta. Thought that was way too soon.
  18. YES! My brain is still in that mode that I have to clean my plate. Hey - many years of doing something one way will take some time....
  19. That's what the recommended, dark meat..
  20. I swear this is my last post! Just curious if anyone has had any Italian food & how long after surgery it took?
  21. So true. I do the same thing! Cook so much. Thank God the family will eat it, but I have so much half- eaten food in the fridge. My whole meals now consist on what I used to "test" while cooking dinner pre-surgery!
  22. Good to know.. Thanks so much. I'm cleared for chicken as well. Hopefully I'll be able to eat at least a piece... I know it takes time, but mentally I'm still trying to wrap my head around the "3 bites & I'm full". I used to eat so much & so fast - hence the surgery! LOL.. Thanks again...
  23. I'm finally at the point where I'm allowed soft, mushed foods.. Meat loaf chopped really small. Smelled soooo good cooking in oven. But a little bummed when all I could eat was 3 half teaspoons. All that for 3 small bites.. Lol. I can't wait until I'm able to eat just a bit more.
  24. I am so sorry you are going through this. What are the DR's saying? Can there possibly be a leak? Again, I hope & pray that you get some answers & start to feel better very soon. Please keep us updated.
