  1. Today I got the email from BCBS of what was billed from my sleeve surgery three weeks ago. Granted my surgery was at Forest Park in Dallas and to be honest that hospital is more like a 5 star hotel than a hospital and I have never had such great care or a beautiful room (suite) here was the amount if anyone is interested! Billed Amount 71' date='335.05

    Amount You May Owe: 97.70

    My insurance rocks!! Thought I would never say that!!! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

I Have BCBS and I had an exclusion on my policy for weight loss surgery. They wouldn't pay for mine.

[*]lunch - tuna salad or chicken salad with fat free mayo and a Protein Shake about half hour-hour later

[*]dinner - Turkey burger or turkey meatballs about 3 of them or turkey meatloaf, and a Protein shake about half hour-hour later

Portion sizes should be 3-4 ounces or the size of your palm.

i also try and drink addtl Fluid throughout the day.

This is all guidlines by my nutrtionist, and i am down about 30 pounds so far.

Awesome! I got sleeved on 9/20 and still on full liquids.

  3. I am 2.5 weeks out from my surgery and I often think that I too eat too much' date=' for example, today I had a 4 to 6 oz protien shake for breakfast some chicken broth w saltine crakers for lunch. dinner was chicken and stars Soup, and I also had about 5 pieces of sandwich meat with cheese and I have had Water to drink today with a 8oz glass of juice. I know I am a little further out than you but I still get a little concerned.[/quote']

    Are u still losing weight?

  4. Not a worry there - you aren't going to hurt your sleeve (your body will tell you if you are doing too much.) There is a wide variation in how different people handle liquids and mushes which generally are not very restricted by the sleeve. I was able to drink remarkable amounts (sip' date=' sip, sip) of broths and juices in the hospital while my wife at the early stage of her WLS could barely get in her nominal stomach capacity of liquids - the doc and program RN were not at all worried as these are just normal variations. I was getting in enough Protein by my token shake per day, yogurt, Protein loaded puddings and Jello, and soft protein dishes that the doc was adding veg to the diet by day 10.[/quote']

Ok. That makes me feel better. Thank you.

  5. I'm on full liquids which includes all u listed but I'm worried I'm getting to much in. I go tuesday for my 2wk post op so I will see then I guess. I see others that can't so Im wondering why and how I can.

If you are still losing weight I wouldn't worry about it. Are you still losing? I got on the scale tonight and I only lost like 2 pounds since last week, I think. My scale and the doctors scale is different. I van get in all my liquids like u too.
