I take anywhere from 30-40 minutes to eat a meal.
Stop after 20 min. This should help! This is one of the rules that also helps with Portion Control.< /p>

How long does it take you to eat a meal?
-
Are you drinking while eating?
-
Wait 30 min after drinking liquids before you eat. Eat for 20 min ONLY! Even if there is food left over (Mindful eating). Wait 30 min after eating to start drinking again.
This prevents "flushing" food down your sleeve as well as more Portion Control by not "grazing".

So I went to the pre-op class today. And they gave me these 5 general rules for success:
1. Protein first at every meal
2. Water 64oz daily
3. Exercise
4. No unplanned eating (eat every 4 hours)
5. Take Vitamin supplements daily
and follow the 30-20-30 rule!
What were/are your rules?

I'm on the 20th as well! My pre op diet is only one day though. Congrats!

I'm being sleeved Dec. 20th with Dr. Jason Reynoso in AZ.
-
I just spoke with my surgeon coordinator and I was approved! My date is December 20th. That's not even the best part.... I only have to do a ONE DAY liquid diet. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY|!
In all seriousness, this has been so long and so fast at the same time. I started back in 2011 with employer insurance that I had at that time and ended up leaving that job. Started over with the job I have now doing the same hoops that BCBS has you jump through:
6 month supervised diet
2 year history of obesity
Nutrition consult
Psych evaluation
Waiting patiently or not so patiently in my case (I called BCBS everyday, It only took a week mind you)
And now.... I will be sleeved on DECEMBER 20th!
Thank you to all of you who have shared. And to those of you just beginning, hang in there... it only gets better!

I drop it... and can't get back up!

LOL I know right!!! I'm just going to walk around in stilettos and a bikini like its normal daytime attire

Good for you!!!

I know in my heart that my hubby won't mind but I mind. That's the mental battle I have constantly besides not eating bread!!

I know that loose skin is a common problem... has anyone found that they can't stand it to the point of regret or do you just deal with it and enjoy your new body?

I came home the day before yesterday. Everything went well. I walked immediately out of the recovery room. I learned that I personally do not like Morphine but it surly helped. Walked a lot around the house and have been burping regularly. Didn't start passing gas (the other end) until yesterday So far, so good!
