All of the doctors are great but the staff really does suck. Post surgery you become a no one. If you go back for nutritional evaluations they try to charge you when they stressed to you in the beginning that lifetime nutritional visits are FREE. I had a hassle when I went back and had to speak to three different people who each tried to charge me my copay. I'm let down that they really dont have post surgical support.

Hi everyone! Congrats on all the weight losses!
Sleeved: 11/28
Wt date of surgery: 228
Wt now: 158
13 lbs to go to my goal weight!
For those of you that had the surgery to remove the extra skin from the stomach area...did the insurance cover this or did you have to pay out of pocket?

I was sleeved on November 29th and I've only lost 40 lbs. I was 228 in my day of surgery and I'm at 188 today. I feel like I'm losing at snail pace. I'd really like to get to my first goal of 150 by May 1 but I don't see that happening. My ultimate goal is 135-145.

I'm pretty bummed. Sleeved on November 29th and I've only lost 40 lbs. I was 228 in my day of surgery. I feel like I'm losing at snail pace. I'd really like to get to my first goal of 150 by May 1 but I don't see that happening.

Mine were completely healed too and developed those bumps out of no where. It is the most bizarre thing.
And I definitely don't have a fever at all and no pain at either site.

Hi all. I was sleeved on November 29th...about 2 months ago. Two weeks ago I had an infection under a molar and was on a 10 day antibiotic. After finishing them I had been showering and noticed that the incision below my left breast was itchy. I looked down and touched it and it popped and oozed a lot of pus. Now tonight I noticed that the one above my belly button had a bump and when I touched it, it oozed too.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I wonder if the antibiotic drew out an infection....

Oh how old are you im 26 how much was your st weight mine was 236My weight at my day of surgery (which also was my highest weight) was 228 and I'm 37.

Wow we all live so close by. I'm in North Arlington and I have family in East Rutherford, Bloomfield and Belleville (right by Clara Maass).
My bmi was 36 too and I had to appeal my first denial and wait 3 months before surgery.

Mine went up as well. Still not meds level but higher post op than pre op. I will go back in for labs soon and will see if it has worked itself out. I was 3 months out and now 9 months. I am heading into maintenance soon and want to wait to have the labs redone.Let us know how that goes.

@Jrsygrl0520....Clara Maass is really close to where I live. Are you from this area?
If your insurance covers it at 100% you should call the insurance and question them about it. Hospitals don't always bill correctly.

If I modify my diet any further I'll be starving myself. I read that this is normal after a dramatic weight loss. So hopefully it'll adjust by the time that I have my next labs done.

I just had my first labs since my surgery back in November. My cholesterol has gone up a bit and I'm a bit upset. I've lost over 30 pounds and I don't eat any of the study that I used to eat presurgery plus I exercise regularly. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am also in NJ and had a slight issue getting approved. I got denied because my bmi was only 36 but since I have so many metabolic disorders (high blood pressure, diabetes and heart issues) both my primary doctor and my surgeon appealed the denial and I got approved. The only thing was that the insurance required for me to be monitored by a nutritionist and had to be weighed in for three months. I had the sleeve done in November.

Hi everyone! What specifically does the first labs include? I have my first visit with my primary care doctor and I know that he doesn't have much experience with vsg patients. TIA!

Hi everyone! I was sleeved on 11/29 and so far I've only lost 24 lbs. I'm really bummed about that. My husband was sleeved in September and he's already lost about 70 lbs. I am having problems getting in all my calories and Proteins. What am I doing wrong?
-
Vmerill I am feeling that very same frustration. :-(
-
I'd do just about anything for a pepsi right now....lol

I too had the three week stall and now again I have been in a stall for 11 days. I am going to be 16 weeks out tomorrow. It is very frustrating I know but we need to hang in there and know that the weight loss will continue.
Thanks for responding ladies! Its good to know that I'm not doing anything wrong (although I could probably incorporate some more cardio!) and that its normal.
-
No but I had read about it on here. I just want to get past this and start up the weight loss again.

I'm so bummed. I'm 4 weeks out and I haven't really lost anything this week or last week. I started off at 228 (day of surgery) and I'm at 207 now. I am hardly able to eat so I know that I'm not really getting in much calories. My 20 month old eats more than I do. I just dont know what I'm doing wrong.

Hi! Surgery went great! Now if I could just eat a little bit more I'd be good to go. I have a constant full feeling and never want to eat. Thanks for checking in on me xx

@@JerseyCityGal Thats not what they told me and you're absolutely right...they should be clear about that. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed in their post surgical care or lack their of.
