  1. I have been blessed with 3 months off after surgery. I am supposed to start work on the 8th but the way the forecast looks I won't start for 2 weeks after that. ANYWAY. I work with a very large group of people Some I really like' date=' some not so much. Typical large group of very diverse people, ages, birth country, etc, etc. It is San Francisco!

To my question. I have been trying to decide if I jsimply want to tell the truth about the surgery or not. Since these people have not seen me for so long it will be a dramatic shock to them. I am down almost 50 pounds (I weigh tomorrow). How did others deal with it and what, in any regrets do you have about it? I am inclined to just tell the truth. Experiences? Good, bad?[/quote']

I told everyone! Some omg you are crazy. Most have been very supportive and complimentary. What I have found is a lot of people say that the additional 35 I want to loose to get to my goal is too much weight to loose. I don't agree with that assessment. I wonder if it is sabotage or jealousy? Good luck.

  2. I've had a couple of days like that along the way and have eaten a little bit more than I usually do. As long as in the big scheme of things I'm still having a very low cal day' date=' I haven't worried about it.

You wake up the next morning and it's business as usual.

Don't know hungry again today.. Do you get more hungry if you eat carbs like tortillas? I have been eating low carb wraps mostly veggies and chicken with a little pesto (so good). I hadn't been eating any bread at all but that's not realistic as I love bread. Trying to figure out what works :-)

  3. Just had to share.Find a smoothie king nearest you and purchase the Gladiator Protein powder it has 45 gms protein two scoops only 190 calories. You can make a seriously fruity smoothie with 70 grams if you use 3 scoops and just berries and pineapple total calories 340. All protein in for the day and your stuffed in one meal replacement. I usually sip on one all day and a little exercise drink my Water and I'm good.

HAd to share this as well. I made mini muffins with max protein powder (go to world according to eggface blog for recipes). Omg. 2 fill u up you get your carb fix and feel like you are cheating. Oh also made her broccoli bites. Awesome!!!

  4. Can anyone tell me their daily calorie and carb intake? I've been in a stall and my nut said not to worry about anything but my Protein. I'm looking for ways to break this stall and keep the weight coming off.

I do 60 to 70 protein no more than 40 carbs, 20 fat and 40 sugar. I exercise 3-4 times a week and wear a pedometer to make sure I am moving as much as possible as I sit at a desk all day. Calories total no more than 800

When I stalled for 4 days I upped carbs and protein 10 grams and within a week and a half stall broke and then I dropped back down and weight loss sustained at 1 to 3 pounds a week since so far.

Oh and Water water water. Good luck let me know how you do.

  5. I was sleeved on 11/14. Down 64 pounds. I had a bunch of mini stalls the longest lasting two weeks. I did some research on line and everything pointed to increasing Proteins, increasing calories (I was at 600 went up to 800) and finding the right carb count to keep the weight coming off. I am also exercising 3-4 times a week for 20 minutes and doing strength with 2 lbs weights to keep my metabolism going. I am sure I will have more stalls but its coming off. Keep plugging away. Do not give up. What we have gone through was hard. Whenever the scale stops I freak out thinking that's it. I have another 50 to go. That number does seem doable but I am giving myself smaller goals. Like wonderland. My mini goal at the beginning of January was to break 200 by end of January. It was 10 pounds and I thought it was a stretch. Once I saw the smaller goal it seemed more doable. But I also made a pack with myself not to beat myself up if I didn't make it. I came in a week early. My reward... Went shopping for new jeans (thrift store) I went from size 18 to size 10-12 so far depending on the type of jeans. If I can do this (and I was the biggest procrastinator and had the worst track record for weight loss) you can do this too. Sink in and put you mind to small accomplishments and goals. Maybe "I wi increase my Protein by 5 grams today and tomorrow". If you meet this goal, make another one. One day at a time is the biggest mind change I am working one. Baby steps!!! And I expect someone to copy and paste these words for me when I stall again. Hehe!!!

  6. I so feel like I'm not losing fast enough. Most of the time I'm not hungry but then time for bed and I grab some cheese cubes beef Jerky or almonds. Very hard to get all the liquids In and Proteins. It's 2 pm and I've had 25 GM Protein and 16 oz of liquids. Surgery on 11/20 severe complications that kept me in hospital 5 days then I got the flu so I'm just coming around to eating. I've lost 28 lbs I exercise at work each weekday walking and stair climbing usually for 20 to 30 mins. On weekends I try to go somewhere and walk. Just feeling defeated. Some of you have lost in the 50-60 range with close to the same surgery date. What are you doing that I'm not doing. I'm also obsessed with the scale

Loose the scale!!! I had to as I was obsessed as well. Eating before bed isn't good either as you're metabolism slows way down when you sleep.

Sounds like you aren't getting enough protein. Drink a Protein Shake. I had a 3 week stall and added protein and Water and changed up my exercise everyday. I read that your body will get used to it and slow down. Also do some weight lifting. That will help your metabolism as well.

My weight comes off slow some weeks and in chunks the next. Remember as long as the scale is going DOWN be happy!!! I set mini goals. Right now I am hoping to lose 10 by end if January. I am down 5 so if I can lose the next 5 then I am going to Good Will and look for new jeans????. And if I don't well I will shoot for it still and get the jeans when I get there. (I want to desperately be under 200 and this goal gets me there. What's your goal?

  7. Today I was talking to someone who made me feel bad for the amount of weight I lost. At 80plus lbs down I'm down alot more than others whom was sleeved in November. My situation is different b/c I was unknowing starving myself for about 3weeks and once I seem my DR they out me back on track for I need to be doing. On top of that I am blessed to have a cook & a personal trainer who keep me motivated & taking care of myself. I'm not strapped down by a "normal" or anything unlike most ppl which can add stress to the process. I feel like instead of hating be happy for me in how far I have come in my situation is what I told the person. Each persons process is different in I wish nothing but success for everyone those who are sleeved n the ones who are hoping to be. We did this for health needing a tool to help us live a life better than b4. Peace & blessings to you all I wish u continued success in your journey. This forum has given the window to express what in going in my life.

Wow who would be mean. That's awesome. I've lost 55 since 11/14. People loose at different rates. Stay focused on the good and remove the bad is my motivation these days. I would love a cook and trainer but I also think I am learning more by doing it myself. Good for you that you worked hard to get those things. Enjoy your success and your journey. I think it gets more fun every day!!!

  8. I am one month out from getting on the loser's bench with one problem... I lost the bench!

My scale has not been moving, or has been swinging between two numbers for the last couple of weeks. I have just started pureed food, although I can tolerate some food not pureed. I also have been having heartburn after I eat and often not feel full within one hour of eating. I exercise 15-30 minutes a day on either my elipitcal or combining different activites.

I see comments all the time about this, and I thought it would be a good idea to have a forum where those of have broke their stalls, can chime in. I realize stalls are part of the journey, how do you stay mentally in the game?

Oh and by the way, I am not weighing every day either... I wait until Fridays!

Thanks in advance for your input! :D

  9. I'm still in a stall (9 days). And I got my period yesterday 9 days early. And it's brutal. I'm hoping to start losing again.

Increase your Protein and fluids. I finally moved the scale. My nut said that around this time the body goes into hibernation. Your weight loss slows you feel tired and your body is holding everything waiting for you to go back to old eating. You can trick it by adding the Protein and Water and upping exercise. It will start soon hang in there.

  10. Greetings everyone. I am extremely stressed out these days. My stomach consistently feeling upset. I was forced to fly back to Atlanta b/c of some work related issues the problem is I had surgery in NYC which now means I can't see my doc. I really don't know what to do. Unlike most ppl whose doc notes allowed them to be out of work for 4-6weeks I don't have a traditional job so if I get fired there is no one I can complain to.

Your life and health is more important than a job. You may be surprised by your employers reaction if you say you have to go to see your doctor.

  11. YES' date=' Ashley! When I moved to blended foods early last week, I started having issues with Constipation. UGH. On day 4 of no-go, I took a Dulcolax and that helped after about 4 hours. Another 3 days later, I again wasn't going. Definitely don't want to be taking laxatives, but what can I be doing differently to get things going naturally? This has never been an issue before for me.[/quote']

Mine is exactly the opposite. Unfortunately. The more Protein you eat the more you can get bound up. I learned that on the Lindora diet many years ago. Drink some Water with Fiber in it or take one of the fiber pills. That will help.

My issue is not dumping BUT if I eat something with more fat or any seafood I spend the next day in the bathroom. I see my doc tomorrow for my post op so gonna ask. I'm on puréed.

  12. My surgery was 11/20 and I have been at 219 and 220 for a week' date=' very depressing!!! I have a theory that those of us who lost more on the pre-op liquid diet (I lost 14lbs in 12 days) are hitting the stall a little earlier than those who lost slower pre-op. I gained 4 lbs in the hospital from the fluids and lost that plus 6 more. I am following my plan accordingly and have no trouble getting in my Protein and Water.< /p>

We need to step back and think "have I been this successful before?" I have lost 24 lbs since November 7 and am very proud of myself. The scale might not be moving, but my body is definitely changing shape. I am loving that my co-workers say "the weight is melting off of you". I have 2 pair of pants that I can wear, one is very baggy. I will be Goodwill shopping this weekend!

My hubby said last night that my "hiney" looks like it did when he met me 33 years ago! I laughed and said imagine how good it will look in 5 months???

Let's all hang in there, one day at a time!!!! Congrats to us for being on the losers bench!!![/quote']

Thanks. We just need to keep each others spirits up. It's gotta move eventually

  13. Last two days of November Sleevers...lets bring it on home!! We need to get rocking and rolling on our weight loss and on taking steps to better lifestyles!!

Remember...if you're struggling let us know! There's no shame and we are here for our sleeve family! Hugs!

No loss in 3 days. Is it a stall coming on? Nothing changed. Still on liquids but started working out. Lost 18 pounds in two weeks. Is my body in shock? Water and Protein intake is dead on. Need some reassurance. I didn't think it would happen this fast.
