I am happy to hear so many of you are doing so great, but have to say I am little envious that I am still having such a hard tome with solids. One day I can eat 2oz of grilled pork chop and two days later only 2-3 tiny bites. I was told to cut my bites to the size of pencil eraser and chew chew chew....which I do. But most days am only able to eat 2-3 bites of anything. Chicken does not agree with me at all, and I loved chicken before sleeve. Was told by NUT to keep to three meals and NO snacks each day....but if I didn't try to get 2 tiny snacks each day I would starve. Reading the posts here I know if I could eat more at each meal I would have more energy and maybe loose weight a little faster. I started shakes again last week to help get my protein in but can only drink about 4 oz over hour. I am keeping record of all my intake to show NUT and Dr next week on my 6 week post op visit. Five weeks post op and down 22lbs, I lost 47 pre-op (3 months). I am loosing but slower than I expected with barely eating anything.

This was bad day for me. Tried canned tuna for first time since surgery and spent afternoon barfing. Stuck to yogurt for supper and then tried those stupid $$$$ vitamins they sold me to only puke them up too. Anyone got a good vitamin?? I bought the whole line of Bariatric weightwise as was told by NUT would need. Glad to hear of all your successes!! This thread has some great peeps posting with lots of info and "cheerleader" support....

@momto 3.....I too puke up the vitamins! I thought I was only one doing this. I spent all that money buying the bariatric vitamins and supplements the program recommended, only to find I can not tolerate them !!!!

@ Sept sleeve sisters....grats to those who are loosing as fast as they want to and for making such a positive change in their futures. @Momof thing.....my program only lets you count fluids with less than 5cal/8oz as part of your 64oz intake. It has been hard for me to get it in every day.

Okay sleeve sisters.....guess I too will have to give up chicken, at least for awhile. Spent 20 min eating part of a chicken breast this afternoon and the next 30 min being sick and throwing up!

I am also having hard time getting my fluids in these past few days. Can only eat 1-2 bites of any food I have tried. Just ate 3 bites of chicken breast and chewed it like crazy.....super miserable right now. And I am still burping like a frat boy at a keg party! Three weeks and 2 days post-op and have lost 11 lbs since surgery. I hope this eating thing gets better cause I am miserable, my program doesn't want us to drink any protein shakes at this stage....they want us to eat 3 times a day soft protein foods. I am only able to eat 1-2 times a day. I am sure if I could up my calorie intake I would feel better and lose more weight. Figured I am averaging about 300 cal/day. Hope all our you are doing well. Hope the ones waiting for their disability money to come through get good news quickly!

@Scared....I too am still having lot's of issues with belching. Even with just drinking little sips of water.

@Momto 3....sorry you are having these issues. Praying things get better for you soon. I am 19 days post op and still having problems getting my fluid intake in and am still able to get only 2-3 bites of food in and then that horrible stuck feeling hits. I really hope this gets better soon!

Hello ....I am 57 and had my sleeve done 9/18. I lost 47lbs pre-op from June 4 until day of surgery. Have been on very soft foods for 3 days now after the two week liquid. I am loosing so much slower than I thought I would after surgery...am down only 5lbs since surgery plus the 10 I gained in hospital that was water weight and took four days to rid of. I am doing all the prescribed things except I am not walking as much as should be cause my knees are really hurting past couple days. Glad I found this thread and have really enjoyed reading about everyones success stories. Hoping to be one by next year.

@Mommeof3......you ate probably spilling ketones in your urine as you are loosing weight from burning all the fat. That is also why our breath and mouths taste funny.

Hello to all my sleeve sisters. I had quite a few days of catching up with everyones postings. Was sorry to hear of the troubles of some and glad to hear of those who are rockin their sleeves! I am 16 days out from surgery and also having some issues with the soft foods my program allows, doing alright with the fluids most days. I hate the stuck feeling I get after eating only 2-3 bites of an egg, and have thrown up a few times. Some days I regret doing this to myself but I also regret that I let myself get so fat!!! Reading the posts of my sleeve sisters helps so much as I don't feel so alone in all this. My center has support meetings but the few I attended were weird b***h sessions about the not smoking and being allowed alcohol.....which I am sure are tough if you have those things to give up but I was looking for more of a nutritional and lifestyle support group. Thanks for listening. My prayers are with you all!

@Pink.....You poor thing....I threw up once today and am 11 days post op. It felt awful, and the stuck pressure in my chest before I threw up was horrible. I tried to eat a small piece of turkey and chewed the heck out of it but it didn't sit well. I felt better after I threw up....hope you feel better soon.

@Newgrandmother.....yes I contacted doctors office.....was encouraged to walk more and take some Miralax. Doing both and hoping it works. On the bright side I ate few bites os smashed beans with cheese melted in them. Congrats on your weight loss so far. Thanks for sharing and caring. So glad I found this site!!!

Anyone having lower back pain since having surgery? I am but not sure if it isn't constipation and gas related. I am 8 days post op and have only had 3 watery bowel movements since surgery....last one 3 days ago and the back pains started 2 days ago. I am getting my fluids in and walking every day. Does anyone have any suggestions to keep regular. with such a restricted diet?? Thanks everyone.

Nine days post op for me and only down 3 lbs....lost 47lbs on my own pre-op since June 4th , then gained 10lbs in hospital....so down 13 lbs since came home from hospital.....on liquids and really thought I would be down alot more as haven't had more than 300 cal day on a good day. Sleeve still feels real tight as I drink my water....have managed to get my 64oz in every day....and few watery protein bouillon soups every day.....my NUT won't let you count the protein in your fluid total....I am hanging in there. Really glad to hear how everyone else is doing and really proud of us all.

your nausea first thing in the mornings might be all the acid juices in your empty sleeve.... might try drinking some Water first thing to dilute it....it works for me so well that I have been drinking 8 oz water in middle of night when I get up to pee. It takes me 30-45 min but usually little dog has to go out to pee also.

I am now 8 days post op and burping is getting little better. Still have uncomfortable fullness with drinking all that water. Got about 4-5 spoons of soup in today and felt less hungry today than any other day since surgery. I am also having a headache everyday after taking the Protonix. Finally looked it up and HA is one of the common side effects. Can hardly wait til next week when can eat a scrambled egg with cheese. Went to health food store and bought some individual packets of protein drinks....first one I tried was awful! Have finally lost the 10 lbs I gained from being in hospital and lost 3 more this past week. Reading about everyone's journey has helped so much. Keep up all the progress fellow Sept sleevers!!!

I had my surgery on 9/18....today has been rough as I am feeling so hungry. The protein soup and water are getting old. Guess I will go fo another walk and have sf popsicle.

Newgrandmother.....yeah for you that you are able to drink water a little faster.

I am two days ahead of you and still burping like crazy. The walking does seem to help. Hang in there....it has to get better.
