  1. I had mashed potatoes 2 weeks out, my dietician said you have to make them with extra milk so that they aren't to stiff but they were yummy.
  2. I'm not really sure about lupus or what you can and can't do but my advice is to hit the water. A lot of gyms offer aqua aerobics which is good exercise, it's fun, and it doesn't put stress on joints. Or you could just swim laps
  3. I was addicted to coke zero, I would drink over 2 liters (about 68oz) a day!! I drank coke zero right up until I had surgery. Now I'm almost 2 weeks out and I don't really miss it, I don't even feel like drinking it. I don't know what happened as I couldn't go a day without it before (I would become so irritable and easily angry If i didn't have it) but something just clicked and I don't want it anymore. Hope the same thing happens for you!
  4. I didn't have one in hospital or at home, what is its purpose?
  5. That does seem like a long time for liquids! I'm on liquids now too and to have a break from sweet things I suggest soup. I've been having some most days, just pumpkin or tomato. Today I was so sick Of liquids and really wanted to eat something so I got some yoghurt, I'm cleared to have it now and it seems to be more filling then some other liquids. Good luck!
  6. I was sleeved on the 21st too. I'm doing pretty good but I'm still having gas pains. I can't really bend over either because it hurts which makes drying myself after a shower hard. I have been on full liquids for 2 days, I'm not getting as much in as I should but I'm trying, I just get so full! I haven't had problems with head hunger except when I briefly craved lamb shanks haha. I haven't weighed myself yet but I will tomorrow morning. I experienced a bit of heartburn once but nothing that concerned me. How are you going with getting your liquids in?
  7. I was exactly the same weight 4 days after surgery (the day I got home) as the morning of surgery. I'm sure if I weighed myself the next day I would have been heavier. It's because of all the fluids they pump into the IV. It's normal don't worry
  8. Please let us know the response you get, I really hope they will cover you
  9. I think you'll have to tell him when you get back, won't he notice that for 2 weeks your having only liquids? And then 2 weeks of puréed foods, he will think that's really weird. And he will see your incisions.
  10. Omg what a transformation! You look fabulous!!! I am only 3 days post op but you have me really excited about the future now. You really look incredible. I can't wait until I can jump on my boyfriends back like that!!
  11. Ahh ok cool, I'm going to make this when I'm allowed too, not for a few more weeks. I think my boyfriend would like it too but he isn't sleeved and would probably eat 4 hahaha
  12. That sounds so good! I really want to try this! What's Pam?
  13. I'm 3 days out and I'm on clear liquids, every time I have a drink (water, broth, apple juice) I get really bad gas pains. I hear that it goes away in a few days and I really hope it does. I can't drink very much because I get really sharp pains that go up into my shoulder, plus heaps of burps. It's horrible! I'm calling my doctor tomorrow to see if he can recommend anything I can take to stop the gas.
  14. Can't wait to see your before and after pics!!! Good luck xxx
  15. It's not silly I didn't ask about the drain until I was about to go into surgery, my surgeon explained it really well to me. It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be it just weirded me out haha
  16. Defiantly take a book, I read heaps while in hospital. Also a loose pair of pajamas, something loose and comfortable to wear home, toothbrush, phone and charger. That's all I needed while in hospital for 3 days
  17. Yes there are stitches holding it in place. It doesn't hurt to get it taken out, it just feels weird. Mine stung for a few minutes after but that's it. No biggie!
  18. Sorry this has happened to you. I was supposed to be sleeved October 16th but had money problems, then my date was November 11th but money troubles weren't sorted yet. Finally I was sleeved 2 days ago! I hope you get a new date too
