Can you possibly find a NUT to meet with every 3-4 weeks? It may helep. I meet with a NUT and she has a therapist quality. It really helps me. If you don't like the office don't go but try to find a NUT. Mine is covered by my insurance but they also do sliding scale. BEst wishes, Ainslee

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

Maybe everyone could write down3-5 things they eat? Other than yogurt and cottage cheese. I'll start: 1. I eat, 2 oz. of lean hamburger sauteed with mushrooms or scrambled egg. 2. I make TJ's Morningstar Tomato and Basil Pizza buger. 120 cals 10 pro,6 fat, 7 carb 3. TJ's spinch and kale bites. Portion is 4, I can only eat 3, so 3 is 105 cal, 4.5 pro, 5.2 fat and 9 carb 4. TJ's Organic Butternut squash soup, 70 cals, 1 Pro, 0 fat, 17 carbs 5. Miso broth 10 cals, .5 pro, .2 fat, 1.5 carbs not nutricious but a good filler 6. TJ's frozen pizza with carmelized onion, ham and gruyere cheese, I eat 1/4 pie, 35 cals, 1.5 pro, 1.8 fat, 3.2 carbs 7. Whole Foods, chicken pot pie, I eat 1/4 pie, 80 cals, 1.5 pro, 4.8 fat, 8.5 carbs. 8. I recently discovered an expensive treat at Whole Foods called Raincoast Crisps, 6 peices is the portion, 130 cals, 4 pro, 3 fat, and 13 carbs. So 4 through 8 are heavy on the carbs but believe it or not, near the end of my day, I am often short carbs and fats, and up to 60 on proteins so I need some of these to balance and also break up the monotany of eating. I use my fitness pal to plan ahead and see what I need for the day. I never eat after Noon without checking first to see what I need, to achieve my goals. I am not perfect but I am trying very hard to be. Tomorrow, I have my support group and a nutritionist is going to speak. I will take notes and share later. Looking forward to new ideas. Ainslee

90 grams of protein is way too much. Please check in with your Doctor on this. I get 60 and he doesn't want me to get more unless I am doing major gym workouts, with weights and such. I use Unjury in the morniing with milk. 21 proteins, 4 carbs and 160 cals w/nonfat milk If I need protein by the end of the day or go to a party, I will have Unjury Cicken stock, 100 cals. 21 proteins, 2 carbs. Sometimes I will have half a cup at night to get 12 proteins in. I love both. They also have 2 different flavors of Chocolate and Strawberry. If you phone them, they are so helpful. If you don't like anything you can return it for a full refund.

I do 60 proteins a day. Doc says very important to stay at this. 30 fat grams. Doc says 25-50 is fine. 30 carb grams, again 25-50 is fine. 600 calories. Usually I am under and sometimes over, but never by more than 100. I walk every day between 2 and 4 miles. Depending on speed or who I am walking with. Yesterday, I added 1# hand weights. I feel it in my shoulders. Best wishes and see you in onderland real soon. Ainslee

I also, have not posted in a while because, like Tina, I was quite sick and in back in the hospital. So I got off my exercise routine and will start again today. Still losing weight though, but I am not enjoying any foods. I stay under 600 calories everyday. Freja, (Meishe) I admire your exercise routine. It is impeccable. I am following you on my fitness pal and you are my role model. The weight will come off. I was sleeved Dec. 6 and am down 39 pounds. All my best to all.

I saw them at Sports Basement and they actually had several different multi colored, artsy shoes.
  16. I am looking for a subgroup of sleevers who are having their surgery on the last week of November. In hopes of really being able to fine tune the support as it gets closer to our dates. Anyone interested?

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

I am down 20 pounds since Dec 6 and it is all above my waist so no problems with clothes. But, I do have the mind thing going on. I can't remember how to spell many words. I can barely write on this site because it doesn't have spell check. That is totally unlike me. I read a lot, I write well. speak well, and read a lot. My NUT says it is the extreme cutback of carbs. That once our mind and bodies assimilate to the new nutrients it will go away. I hope she is right and I hope this applies to you. Best wishes, Ainslee

30 MORE MINUTES to go. You can do it.Congratulations on sticking to it. I have been bad with the exercise and then today I fell on my bad knee and can barely move it. I have dropped 19 since my surgery Dec. 6. My Doctor wants me to loose 20 per month for the next 2 months and the remainder in the 6 months after that. Better go put some ice on my knee. Happy New Year!! Ainslee

I've been stupid ever since my surgery on Dec. 6. I even asked the Doctor and NUT if this was related. They told me yes, thank God.They said Carbs are your brain food. (I personally, lived on carbs) So the mind, and body are adjusting to all new levels of brain fuel. Makes sense. The Doctor said it takes quite a while for all the drugs to get out of the system. Dec 27th

I believe MOST people feel this sadness. It took me 2-3 weeks to have ALL of that feeling of regretment go away. I think once I started logging everything in to My finess pal. It all started changeing for the positive. I actually went to a rest. Saturday and did fine. I ordered over cooked veges and a scrambled egg. I ate about 1/16th of the portion. My friend ate the rest and her meal. (no, she is not OW)I was really fine with that. Between getting the hang of it, feeling emotionally better when the drugs were out of my system, and see the weight drop off, I became happy to be on this ride for the rest of my (long) life. You will too. Just take it easy, be good to yourself and rest. Best wishes to you.

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

Awesome news. I am thinking about letting the cat out of the bag when I go back to work. It is going to be so obvious because I am not going back until Feb. I went to a Christmas party last night. The host is a chef and man it was cruel, the food looked incredible. I brought lots of decaf tea, unjury chicken broth and made it. ONe of my coworkers asked me if I was on a diet. I told her yes. No explaination needed. We'll see. Best wishes, Ainslee
