    Any Bay Area California Sleevers?

I dont really know why he wants the extra 8 he just said it will make the surgery easier. To be honest I havent actually been following the pre op diet I had been doing my own thing. but I plan on starting tomorrow he seemed to want me to get the last 8 off quickly. He told me to eat just the protien and vegetables no dairy or fruit. Thats kinda hard for me because thats what I do eat. I eat yogurt in the morning and then a vegetable fruit smoothie for lunch and a light dinner. i was out of town last week and my car broke down so I was stuck for a little over a week. I had a really hard time because my family eats very different and rather than being difficult I tried to just eat smaller portions. Still it was hard they have desert every night and my brother was visiting from Hawaii so it was a celebration every night. So glad to be home even though I miss them. It made me realize that these things happen and Im going to have to be prepared. So a lesson learned

Hello Jules, so happy to know someone else going through Richmond. Ive kind of had a bad week . I hope to get back on track starting tomorrow. I would love to continue to follow each other. I go back and forth with the nerves but try to stay upbeat and just keep researching. Ive found some really great web sites that help too. So lets do this! Marcia

    Any Bay Area California Sleevers?

Just got back from my appt with Dr. Fisher at Kaiser in Richmond. He seemed really nice and helped me to finalize my decision for the sleeve. He wants me to lose 8 more pounds and then I would be able to schedule surgery. Really happy with that news!! If all goes well I should have surgery before the year is out... Next appt. is with psychologist on 10/19. Hope everyone else is feeling as positive on their journey. I would love to talk to anyone in the area going through the same hospital. thanx

    Any Bay Area California Sleevers?

Hello, I am from the bay area. I grew up in Campbell but live in Marin County now, I will be having my surgery at Kaiser in Richmond. I have an appointment with the surgeon on 10/11/12. Im still not absolutly sure but lean more towards yes than no. I too have been looking for people in the area to follow and talk to about the whole journey. Feel free to contact me. I will continue to follow you too! good luck to you
  7. Oh and by the way It is only as late as you think it is.... I dont feel that way at all. This is a great age, and it will only get better for you. Sometimes younger people dont think before they say things or can make us feel like our feelings dont matter. A woman can be beautiful and sexy at any age. Look at Helen Mirren! I hope all is going well for you
  8. I am 53, and cant remeber what it was like to feel light and confident. I think the last time was right before I had my beautiful daughter, who is now 32! Dont get me wrong Ive gone up and down so many times, with so many diets. I just never got all the way down and stayed at a healthy weight. But at this age my kids are grown and I have all the time in the world to take care of me. So this is it, Im doing it for me. I want whatever time I have left, to be a healthier me, and yes a more attractive me. This is our time to shine, I feel this could be the best age ever......So here we go, i hope everyone is as excited as I am for the next chapter!

    Salads!

I am so happy to hear that salads are ok. I was dreading not being able to eat salads, I love them. Hopw I have the same ability to eat them after a few months. Its this and so many other little things that keep me motivated to have the surgery. I will be following your success.. Good Luck Marcia
  10. Im 53, you would think at my age it would be easier. But it isnt, my daughter is supportive but scared. My son is totally against it, he thinks I can just eat better and exercise more. My own mother and siblings are trying to be supportive but like my daughter they are worried about the possibilities of complications. And my husband he is neither supportive or negative I think he has seen me through so many diets he this is probably just one more to him. Soooooo for a while I decided against it. But I kept researching and even though Im nervous I really want the rest of my life to be healthier. So I found this site and decided to continue my doctor had already referred me so I made my appointment for orientation. I didnt tell anyone Im proceeding, I will tell them when I have my surgery date. That way I can stay focused and positive. Its all about thinking positive from here on out. Good luck young lady, I will follow you..
