    Iso: Pear-Shaped? Post-Op Advice

Wow... 3 months out & 72 pds lost!!! Awesome!!! Congrats
  4. Question: How do I break a stall??? Post-ops.... I'm 17 days out - In the first 2 weeks I lost 20 pds and was impressed, but now that I started my 3rd week ZERO :/ MURPHYS LAW: (TMI) At the end of my 2nd week I started my cycle :/ which I'm sure didn't help... plus I've heard of the 3rd week stall. Current weight 220 pds... Sample Diet: B: 1/4 Cottage Cheese L: 1 tsp Peanut Butter D: 1 Scrambled Egg Snack: 1 Low Fat Cheese Stick Approx: 25-30 grams of protein & 350-420 calories per day Next week I bump up my protein by 5-10 grams per day... As for exercise I am too tired & weak :/
  5. Ok... measuring is a must tonite! I guess I'm impatient LOL!
  6. Thanks... And no I haven't measured myself. I'll do so tonight!
  7. Im only on my 16th day postop... my Dr wants 25-30 grams of Protein weeks 3-4 weeks 5-6: 30-40 grams 3-6 months 40-50 grams 6-9 months 50-60 grams... etc. Crazy how every Dr/Office/Facility is so different... too bad there isn't a universal guideline :-\
  8. I was sleeved on Nov 12th... and am not hungry but I know that my body needs fuel... and I want to meet my minimum goal of 25grams of Protein. This is a sample of what I eat per day: B: 1/2 Greek Yogurt L: 1 tsp of Peanut Butter D: 1 Scrambled Egg Snack: 1 Low Fat cheese Stick At first I thought... if I'm not hungry or once I eat... if I'm full it's a good thing... cuz I don't want to learn to overeat with my new tummy. But my Dr told me that that's the worst thing that I could do to my body and that the first thing to go will be my hair So sometimes its a chore... but I slowly get it down! Good Luck!!!
  9. Cher... We are the same My surgery was on Nov 12th... and I'm down 20 as well!!! I am feeling good... still tired and weak... as for Protein I am using the costco shakes too... I also found a great product called "Protein Blitz" it's like a Gatorade... each 20 oz bottle serves 30 grams of protein. You can find it at "The Vitamin Shoppe" or other places like GNC. This week I have stalled :-\ - Don't know if its the "3 week stall" everyone talks about or cuz I started my cycle... (TMI) Double-whammmie Lol o_O Oh well... 20 pounds is a Great start... keep me posted... Good Luck!!!!
  10. That's on my 2nd stage of my post op diet ... I'm only 16 days post op and I had 1 mozzarella stick yesterday for the first time... I left it out at room temperature for a while so it could get soft and I just nibbled on it and I didn't have a problem with that at all

  17. Every hospital/office/Dr is different... My surgery was November 12th I'm looking at my binder right now. I'll be able to start my second level of my diet on Monday. It says on week 3 I can have: cottage cheese, eggs, yogurt Peanut Butter, low fat cheese, milk or soy milk and that's all it says on my list :/ I would check with your doctor but it's pretty confusing... I've seen other list and I'm quite jealous... I would love to be able to eat some of the other things... for instance on my list it doesnt even say anything about Soups I would love to have cream soups... The above list provided is similar to what I see in my binder for week 4 Good Luck

    Itchy Incisions!

I was sleeved November 12th & I had the same problem I just went to the doctor yesterday and they said that I had an allergic reaction to either the tape or glue... I had to remove the tape and they gave me a prescription similar to a cortisone cream... my incisions were very pink - reddish, circular around each incision, very itchy and burning. It was so bad I just wanted to scratch & scratch and I could barely even sleep at night. I've only been using the ointment going on 2 days and it's already going away and it should be gone within a week.

    Help Please

I was sleeved on November 12th and what really helps me are ice chips... I went to a local fast food place called Sonic, and they sold me a 10 pound bag for maybe 3 dollars. I really like the pellet kind... it melts fast... you don't need to bite it... and it remind me of hospital ice... Good Luck :-)
  20. So today is my 8 day after surgery... I had surgery on November 12th Yesterday my incisions started to become very itchy and red.. a little swollen but they don't look infected... they're warm to the touch. I called my surgeon today because the burning sensation was driving me crazy and he recommended that I remove the little surgical tape covering them... maybe it was causing irritation / allergy. He recommended that I clean them off and he wanted me to put cortisone cream... My surgeon also recommended I take 1 benadryl to help me with the itching... Big mistake!!! The benadryl made me want to throw up... my stomach was burning.. felt like my tummy was spasming... I wanted to throw up and I felt like I was actually going to faint. My tummy hurt for 1/2 hour!!! Well its night time and zero relief I book an appointment here in town to see local doctor and get checked out tomorrow because my surgeon is a few hours away from here... I'm really concerned and hoping for the best!!!
  21. According to my doctor he said about 2 weeks because by that time you should be completey off of pain medication... When you stop your pain meds you are free to drive... Unless you're having any other complications that would prohibit you! Good Luck
