  1. Awesome! North Dakota misses you I'm sure
  2. Awesome! I actually live in minot, but I figure 100 miles isn't a bad drive to make for a good doc. Why did you choose grand Rapids?
  3. I'm open with mine too. Everyone on Facebook knows, everyone at work too. They see me eating my jello and drinking my protein shakes (doing my 2 week preop) and they're always nice about asking me how I'm doing. They've all been very nice.
  4. Thank you for keeping track like this. When you put it like that, it makes it seem so much better!

  6. Hi! I'm using Adkins advantage and slim fast low carb for my shakes. I started an October 2nd thread, so come on over if you haven't already!
  7. Be patient! I thought I was the only October 2nd, until a week ago and they started popping up everywhere!
  8. I'm starving! I brought 1 Protein shake and like 2 cups of Jello to work, it's all gone and I'm hungry! I'm glad I get off in a half hour, I'll go home and have a second shake and patiently wait for dinnertime!
  9. I'm definitely logging, I got in the habit during my very long year and a half wait for my surgery. My surgeon required it too. For me, snacking is a slippery slope
  10. Yeah, I totally harass called them starting on day 5....i called every morning to see if it was approved. Lol yay for not being patient.
  11. All of the unjury containers say to keep it under 150°, which to me is the perfect temp for a hot drink. Next time you go to the store, get a cheap thermometer from the kitchen section. Less than 2 bucks, and I use mine all the time
  12. I have Aetna too. Mine was approved on day 13, so hopefully yours is the same! I didn't get excited until I got the approval letter in the mail, so I know what you mean.
  13. I'm greedy, I wanted a playground of my own!

  15. Since there seem to be quite a few of us now, I thought we should have our own place to talk. I start my preop diet tomorrow. I get 1 meal of meat and veggies, 2 shakes and unlimited jello. Is anyone else just on liquids?
  16. I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure weed doesn't show up in a regular blood test, or I would have been busted before. As long as you don't smoke between here and then you should be ok.
  17. My preop starts tomorrow, I had to think hard but I decided to have Chinese for dinner tonight. What about you?
  18. My doc told me to eat tons of sugar free Jello if I get hungry. All you can eat jello, any kids dream. Having anything special for dinner tomorrow night? I'm having Chinese food. Kinda a 'yay last big meal' thing
  19. Yay, lots of October 2nd tonight! Welcome! It just depends on the doctor, and your starting bmi sometimes. My doctor has me on a kind of mixed diet. 2 Protein shake meals, and 1 regular meal consisting of 6oz of meat and 1 cup of veggies. Lots of Jello, and I can have 1/2 cup of yogurt or cottage cheese for a snack
  20. You're doing just fine! Good luck to you too! Message me if you have any questions, I've been getting ready for my surgery since last last January, so I can answer a lot!
