  1. My day is Tuesday as well. I have three daughters and feel the same. What's scared me most was reading yesterday a male member to this site sadly passed 2 was post op from a blood clot...and he was doing well. THAT is working on me big time last night and today. We all know the ricks but *^%# a couple of days before the surgery to have this on your mind! Ughhhhhh
  2. My friends and I all call each other "fat asses" or some other "fat" name, jokingly. When I had the lapband and lost 120 lbs and was still still saying fat things (still jokingly, like we always used to) they told me not to play like that anymore because I was no longer a "fatty" and it made them feel bad. Soooo, I stopped. It kinda made me feel bad that they could joke like we always did but I no longer could. That's about the only thing that changed. They never pulled away. BTW, I'm fat again so now we can ALL tease each other again lol....but not for long
  3. You're fine, it IS midnight! Safe surgery and successful!

  12. I had the band for 7 yrs lost all my weight then started getting not feeling well for over a yr. had the band removed over 2 yrs. ago because it slipped without me knowing. I gained all my weight back an going 3/19 for the sleeve. I pray the sleeve helps me get healthy and keeps me that way, but I didn't have it yet so time will tell. I can only tell you about the band from experience. Good luck!
  13. Hi all- Did you have to go into surgery without nail polish on or does it not matter like it did years ago? I have gel nail polish and it doesn't come off w/ polish remover ( has to be done at salon w/ filing machine). Just wondering
  14. It could be that but the vitamins they make your urine smell.
  15. Hello shannflo- I have the same date as you and preop dieting too (not liquids though) I used isopure low carb Dutch chocolate w/ skim milk after my lapband (I had the band 7 yrs till it slipped) that's what I'm thinking of using postoperative too. Let us know what protein shake you end up liking. I'm more into finding a protein shake that's like drinking chocolate milk. I'm a stay at home mom/ wife but I've been reading people taking off at least a week but would have been happier if they did 2 weeks.
  16. Hi Erica , good luck girl prayers your way and thank you for updating us after you have surgery!
  17. hi Ashley- I feel for you. I can eat low carb low fat preop (doing it now) and because I'm a fatty I'm having a hard time not doubling up those meals...BUT, I'm doing it and you can too....Drink water till your floating. How about a protein shake they are thicker? It's only three days, you can do it girl!! Keep us updated
  18. I have a 2 week pre op diet of low carbs, low fat & sugar. It's hard but I'm sticking to it. As hard as it is for me, I Realllly feel for those of you that are on all liquid...kudos! Who of use here are doing which preop diet?.
  19. Hi Aunm- everyone will worry (moms, dads, sisters, brothers) it's mostly concern. I'm scheduled for the 19th and I'm a wreck, but I'm moving forward. I had the lapband yrs ago and felt this way too. Me typing this to you is reinforcing my courage . You can't please everyone, but you have to please yourself and live a happier better quality of life. You will be fine and successful!
  20. Thanks MissFae! I had to drink that stuff (barium) after my lapband and it does make you gag. When u drank the water, did you FEEL like you could have swallowed more then they allowed? Glad you're doing to well and thanks for the updates, plz keep them coming
