  1. I have tried the grape frost, the banana pineapple & the apple melon & I liked all of them.
  2. HELP! 2 days after starting protein drinks 1 week before my surgery up to today I have been itching like crazy. I have been to the Dr 3 times, thinking it was an allergic reaction to a bug bite, allergic reaction to the tape they used for the IV in the hospital & lastly, cellulitis. I have been given a Solu-Medrol shot, 2 prednisone packs, a rochephin shot, 3 prednisone tabs & have used hydrocortisone cream, benedryl tablets, Benedryl ointment & benedryl spray-NOTHING has helped. I am starting to think I am allergic to the whey in the protein shakes as I read online that that can happen. Has anyone out there had this happen to them? I am trying eggwhite protein powder for a few days to see if the itching stops. My only problem with it is it is low in protein (16 g for 1/4 c) & I tried to mix it into my soup & when I nuked it, it sort of cooked...liked a souflle :-( I don't drink milk or almond milk so mixing it with that is out of the question. I start the pureed phase on Wed. so I am hoping I can mix it with something else. Suggestions would be welcome!!!
  3. Awesome! I know it will change my life & I can't wait to start to see results. I am 11 days post-op! I also can't wait to shop in the regular clothes size areas & not have to have a 2x or 3x. You are a true testament to what it should be like!!!! Thank you for sharing.
  4. Is your addiction in your head? I ask this because I am 11 days post-op & I have not wanted ANYTHING! I have to force myself to have the protein drinks as I just don't want to eat at all. I have seen food commercials, been around people who were eating Subway or Mickey D's, etc. & nothing....nothing looks good or smells good. Are you seeing a therapist? If not, you might want to find one that deals with food issues. I also had a good talk with myself before my surgery about being 100% compliant after doing something so radical as having most of my stomach removed. I will NOT fail at this. Nothing tastes that good to destroy what I have done. I wish you the best & you WILL & CAn do this!!!
  5. I didn't tell many people before I had the surgery for that very reason-there is always going to be naysayers & they mean well but don't realize the effect it can have on you. Of course there is risk with ANY surgery so I just chose to wait until after to say anything.
  6. I use the Celebrate chocolate protein powder, 8 oz of Silk Almond Milk & 2 tbsp PB2 & it is VERY yummy with 31 proteins!
  7. Kfc

When did you have the surgery?
  8. My PCP told me your body just went through something traumatic & you won't see results the 1st week. She said trust the process-it WILL come off. I lost 3 lbs the 1st week-my surgery was the 12th & I also thought it was strange but what she said makes sense.
  9. yes, please share some tips!! Congrats!
  10. It is imperative that you get 64 oz of fluid-you will become dehydrated if you don't. That can account for the lightheadedness.
  11. I am constantly sipping water or having a shake or soup...it is necessary to get all of it in. Since day one I have gotten in my 70-80 g protein & my 64 oz of water
  12. I am 9 days post op & I am doing protein shakes, cream soups, pureed soups, sf popsicles & sf jello
  13. I am 5 days post-op & I had absolutely no pain at all. In fact, the biggest issue was an allergic reaction to the tape they used to hold the IV in place. I was up a few hours after I got to my room & took a walk around the floor. I am walking every day & I will be back to work Wed. I had an ankle fusion done in 2010 & this surgery was 100% easier. They did find a large hernia, which they repaired while they were in there. I am doing quite well & very excited about this new chapter in my life. I finally feel like I can be normal. Good luck to you-you will be fine.
  14. My surgery is also scheduled for the 12th but I don't start my 7 day full liquid diet til the 5th. How come you are already on day 5 of it? Are you getting it done in Mexico?
