An egg is pretty boring without the yolk! Plus yolks are full of good stuff. Eat the whole egg.

I meant tbsp on my last post! There is something very wrong if I can only get a couple of teaspoons in!
I can only eat 3 (sometimes 4) teaspoons....

She would have a personal trainer and probably someone to prepare meals (as well as clean the house and look after the babies while she works her butt off). Perhaps you could look at doing that?

I was released day 3 and there's no way I would have made it out of the carpark. I drove myself in, husband picked me up, and we took a taxi back the next day so he could drive my car back home. I felt safe to drive at one week.

Everyone has a different experience. My day of op I was extremely nauseous, sore and fairly out of it. The following day was far better, just a bit of nausea (which subsided when they worked out which med to use). The next day better again And I'd do it all over again for the results I'm seeing

I think if you are sticking to your surgeons guidelines, you should be fine
Maybe you could try some relaxation techniques or meditation. If nothing like that helps and you keep obsessing, perhaps seeing a psych could be beneficial.

Ugh. I went and bought some breath strips. Pretty potent and will get me out of trouble
I keep Water by the bed too

I really dont understand why people are dubious that this problem is genuine....

Probably ketosis. I'm the same except my breath is pretty revolting too

What goes in must come out I would think it should improve when you get to purée stage

I'm stoked with the sleeve at this point. In 2 weeks I've lost 10kg. My clothes now fit (and dare I say my trousers are getting a little too loose) vs being so tight I really needed to go up a size. Just before surgery I saw a dress I really liked. I could JUST get it over my head and it certainly didn't go close to zipping up. Yesterday I wore it! My skin has improved. Now to conquer the wardrobe of clothes I have waiting for me. You know- those clothes we buy for "one day when I lose weight."

Hi allI dont talk much but have just loved reading for the last few months.
I thought it may be nice to say HI !
My name is Melanie I had a sleeve as a revision from a slipped band. Had my band in 2009 and sleeve 9 months ago.
Starting weight was 120 kilos and now down to 77kilos. Or a size 20-22 to a size 12-14.
I have actually seen a few of your faces as I work in the weightloss surgery industry. (I want to make this clear so nothing can be said about me not disclosing)
I look forward to chatting more and following all your stories.
That's great! My start and finish numbers are very similar - it helps me believe it's actually possible

I've not vomited. I eat much more slowly than I used to, but sometimes it's still not slow enough I think. I end up with the sensation of pressure in my chest sometimes. Funny how that happens.

I am so exhausted all the time' date=' basic tasks are a challenge for me- work wipes me out. I get dizzy when I move around, cough or sneeze, my bones are aching, a short stint of sitting still and I'm stiff as a board. I try to walk but my hips are painful- and the worst part for me is no memory. I forget EVERYTHING!!! I have a 2 hour exam tomorrow and I cant remember anything as info goes straight out of my head. This makes me so frustrated, I almost feel a little depression lingering. Making an appointment with doc tomorrow. I don't want to see my nut, she charges 140 a pop and I really don't feel comfortable with her. Eating bad is another reason I'm feeling aweful.....old habits and constant cravings. I perceived I would be ontop of the world at almost 3 months, instead I feel like I've been hit by a truck :-/ did anyone else ever feel like this?[/quote']
Hi Kayargh - you must be due for blood tests soon right? I know what makes me feel really bad is when I am anaemic. I hope it's something simple and that can be remedied quickly for you

Realistically how long should I expect to be out of work with the sleeve? I have a desk job at a bank. Is recovery worse than lap band?I didnt feel decent (lacking energy and needing lots of naps) until day 7. Then I felt ok. But I was on purée by then too, so I don't know if it would take longer if someone was on liquids still.

Mine has now headed away from the band too. He also told me that the band has a higher rate of needing corrective operations.

I haven't been getting hungry as such, but I do get a real drop in energy when I need to eat

Turn it around - if he was in your situation would you be supportive of his having a VSG (or any other life saving operation) even though it would use your savings?
If you would, then understand he feels the same way, accept it, let go of the guilt, and go for it

When I went in for Gallbladder surgery a few years back in the USA' date=' I wasn't given any stockings and no compression devices were used on my legs. I was in bed for two days before I could walk.....
For my surgery in Mexico, I will not be fitted for stockings but they use a compression device on your legs while you're in the hospital for two days.
ALSO, typically when they give compression stockings in the hospital, the stockings are intended for use while lying down.. The compression ratios are different than regular compression stockings that are used for sitting and walking.[/quote']
Still....you'd think they'd give you *something* to wear. We also had wraps around the legs which air is pumped through to massage and keep blood circulating. I don't know the statistics on how effective this stuff is, but I definately think a good pair of stockings would be worth the investment, especially if flying or driving shortly afterwards

I know of another person who is going to be re-resleeved. They were originally a band too.
