  1. There are only two employees in our office and we don't have group coverage (which would be ideal) The other person in the office is also a realtor so she has some sort of coverage for self-employed business persons. Where do I find an insurance broker? Do you think that having the band will be an issue?

  2. I paid $6500 in Reynosa Mexico which is right across the border from McAllen, Texas with Dr. Castellanos. The other doctor I was going to use Dr. de la Garza (he was out of town on the dates I could have my surgery so I had to find another doctor) quoted me $7500 and he too was traveling to REynosa for the surgery (my mom lives in McAllen so this is convenient for me), but then I called him and told him I only had $6500 and he said that he could go ahead and do the surgery and that I could owe him the $1000 which he said I had a year to pay back or could refer one person to him and wouldn't owe him anything. I thought that was a good deal. It is definitely less expensive to have your surgery in Mexico than here. But you do have to take into consideration your travel and time. I flew to Mcallen and my ticket was about $250 round trip. I was nervous about getting surgery in Mexico, but my doctor is very qualified and I was pleasantly surprised at the kind of care I received. Good luck.

  3. I will keep your sister and Nolan in my prayers. When my son was born three years ago, he had some issues (one of which was feeding) and the doctor thought he might have some genetic problems, we spent a week in the hospital getting all the necessary tests, it was very hard during that week, waiting for results from test after test, we were very blessed that everything came back negative, except for some tiny heart murmurs (one of which is already gone). My son was finally diagnosed with failure to thrive, he has a difficult time gaining weight, (didn't get it from me) and was given some nutritional supplements to help him gain the necessary weight. He later developed multiple hemangiomas which he has had three surgeries to remove. It has been very difficult to see my child going through so much at such a young age. But He is turning three on Wed, and is a healthy boy who is full of life. Children are such a blessing, and you have to remember that God never gives us more than we can handle. I will keep Nolan in my prayers. Please keep us posted on his progress.

    Love,

  4. I too am a member of Curves, I'm embarrassed to say I haven't been in about two weeks, my friend and I go during lunch and its a good cardio workout. I am actually planning on doing that at lunch today, got my workout clothes in the car. I haven't been working out w/ my trainer and miss him terribly, I feel so good after working out (too much going on w/ my life), but I am starting a strength training class on Monday and I'm looking forward to it. Lets start working really hard so that we can get in our bikinis this summer. LOL

  5. Well, now I don't know what to do, should I get more fill, should I stay the same? I really have no restriction, I just came back from lunch and I ate a small chilli from Wendy's, and still had room for two marshmellow Cookies. I shouldn't be able to eat that much, should I? I have until Tuesday, if I feel like I have more restriction, I'll cancel my appointment. I can't however give it a month, if I do, I will have to pay $300 again, and I'm not going that. If I go next week, he won't charge me again. But we'll see. I am however, looking forward to seeing my new Dr. Gomez, WOW did he impress me, he is really a cutie-pie. Looking forward to getting handled by him again. LOL

By the way, it is a great username, isn't it? Kellymoos told me I reminded her of a butterfly, so I decided to change my name to a Beautiful Butterfly, but in spanish. I love it too.

  6. Well I am having no trouble wolfing down food, I've gained three pounds and hate myself for it. It sucks. I was however a night Cereal eater, and I tried having some corn pops last night and they didn't agree with me. If I eat the cereal dry, I can eat tons of it, but if I try having it with milk, it doesn't work.

  7. WHEN YOU GET WELPS ON YOUR INNER THIGHS FROM WALKING AROUND TO MUCH, AND THEN YOU HAVE TO SIT IN FRONT OF THE FAN WITH YOUR LEGS SPREAD EAGLE TO FIND RELIEF!

WHEN THE FRICTION FROM YOUR INNER THIGHS CATCH YOUR UNDER PANTIES ON FIRE!

WHEN YOU WALK YOUR PANTS MAKE A SWISHING NOISE!

    I love these.

  8. Dr. Eddie Gomez in Coral Gables, Florida 305-669-2388, he didn't charge an office visit or any extra fees. The fill w/out flouru is $300 w/ flour $600. I did it w/out and it was perfect, no problems. The doctor was very nice and very good looking. (Emilio is his assistants name, if you call, hit #5 and it will connect you to Emilio). I had a really good experience with Dr. Gomez on Tues. 3/1/05.

  9. Hello, after being so excited about getting my second fill on Tuesday, I am so disappointed. I saw Dr. Eddie Gomez in Coral Gables, Fl (man, he is so fine!!) on Tuesday and he removed about .5 cc's from my band (I had 1 cc's in Jan., wonder what happened to the rest???) Well anyways, my port is flipped (he said I will eventually need to get it stitched back into place), but luckily he was able to do the fill, he played with the amount of liquid to get it just right and we thought he found it at 1.25 cc's, but it has been two full days and I don't have any restriction. I have called and they are going to fill me again next Tuesday. I was really looking forward to losing more weight, I have been at this weight for over a month, and it stinks. I WANT TO GET SKINNY!!!

Oh well, I hope it goes better for me on Tuesday. I do have to say that Dr. Gomez was great, very personable and very, very good looking. Makes a girl nervous to have such a good looking guy pinching her fat. LOL

  10. It went fine, but Dr. Gomez said my port has flipped sideways and will eventually need to get repaired into place. Luckily, he had no trouble hitting the port and I was afraid because he doesn't numb the area, but it didn't hurt at all. The fill was painless, he played with the amount of Fluid to get it just right and we thought he found it at 1.25 cc's, but I don't feel any difference in restriction. So I have called him and scheduled to get another fill next Tuesday. Luckily, he won't charge me anymore $. I am kind of disappointed that I didn't get enough restriction, was looking forward to losing some more weight. The drive to Coral Gables was quite nice, kind of boring by myself, but nice, its really beautiful out there, but the traffic was horrible, I could never live in a large city. yukky!!! The bad thing is I'll have to come up with another lie as to why I'm going to be out of work on Tuesday again. (my boss doesn't know about my band). But oh, boy is Dr. Gomez good looking, I'm talking major hottie... Makes you kinda nervous when a good looking man is pinching around your fat roll around your stomache. LOL Well hope to hear from you soon.

  11. HI Roxanna, I am in Southwest Florida and I had my lapband surgery on Nov. 4, 2004. I have lost about 23 lbs to date (my weightloss has been slower than most, as I had less to lose than most people). I go for my second fill tomorrow and I am really excited. Well please feel free to send me a pm if you have any questions. Do you have aftercare lined up? That was a mistake I made, because I had some problems after I returned home. I strongly recommend that you find someone that can see you after you return home should you have any complications. Hope to hear from you soon.

  12. I had some pain on my right shoulder, the doctor said it had to do with the anesthesia gases. I was a little uncomfortable, but for the most part, I did really well with the surgery. I did get up and walk around the same day, they said it would help my body get rid of the gases, but other than that the surgery itself was a breeze. Good luck and I hope all goes well.

  13. You know this thread is fun and all-- but you shouldn't be giving out your mother's maiden name. Isn't that what we use on our accounts as a security identifier? Just wondering. That's the question I get asked when I have to call regarding one of my accounts. I don't know how many of you have your full names posted on this site, but If you do and you just added your mother's maiden name, that's just asking for trouble. I know that there are lots and lots of good people on this thread, but there might be others that just surf these types of sites to see what they can gain or what they can steal. Just a thought.
