  1. Hi, to wake up and not be hungry was amazing, still no hunger but i do know when my body needs food now.

I am 20lb down and am able to drink half a tin of heinz Soup, and know when my sleeve is full.

I have been on free fluids, but tomorrow am hoping to go onto pureed food and thats when the no drinks for 20 mins before or after starts, so looking forward to cheesy mash and Beans, weetabix and proper food puree.

I am thanking god for my progress.x

  2. 3 days to go, so pleased to be so near, its been such a long journey, but it is going to happen this time.

I have to be there for 7.30 am so should be first which is great, no hanging around, yay, im getting sleeved, x :)

  3. Hi, i know we are all different, but would to hear from as many as possible how much pain you had, where, how long and if you have had your gall bladder out, is it worse or less, id rather know, no one told me about the pain after my gall bladder op, and i was shocked, thank you,x

  4. hi, i was suppose to have my sleeve on oct 8th last year but due to more health issues it was delayed, i had a few dates since, one was for 24th march but now it is going to be april, dont know when, but after waiting 53 months i finally believe it will be april.

I have already done one liver shrinking diet up to 3 days before my op should have been so know what is coming.

Im diabetic so i did the 800 cal low fat, low carb, low Protein diet, for the first three days i could have eaten my own fingers but after that it was easier and i felt so good on it, the only prob i had was sleep, im like a baby, full tummy sleep, empty stomach no sleep and grumpy, lol.

Im in the uk and having my sleeve on the nhs, and i only get one shot at it, so its got to be right.

I was so ready in oct and was devestated when my op was cancelled, but have grown through it and am so sure that this is going to give me a new me and a new life.

I had my gall bladder out 16 years ago at this weight and sailed through it, by keyhole, and i have been told that the sleeve is no more dangerous than a gall bladder removal, so am confident i will be good despite the added health issues i now have.

It is great to see so many excited april sleevers, i want to be sitting on the loosers bench with you in may.

Im Janet, aged 55 and raring to go, x

  5. Hi, i would be interested to know how you coped with the surgery, did it cause a flare up, and were you able to take your usual pain meds, i am on tramadol, gabapentin and paracetomol and if i dont take them i cant stand the pain, i have amytryptilene, and alupurinol for gout too, plus many more meds, i have several chronic diseases, am hoping less weight will help my joints and enable me to go swimming, the only exercise i can do, thanks, xx

  6. It feels like it took forever... but the day I begin my new life is March 6th 2013!!!! Wooooo hoooooo!!!!

Congrats, that is great news, and only a 34 days to go, you must be so excited.

I was due to have my sleeve oct9th 2012 but had my op cancelled due to my blood not clotting quick enough, 3 days before, and every month since have thought it could be next month, and am hoping that i will be joining the march sleevers with you this march.

Will you be doing the milk and yoghurt pre op or the 800 cal food diet ?

I did the 800 cal diet last time because i am diabetic, and will be doing that again, not looking forward to the first 3 days, i could have eaten my own fingers, lol, but by the 4th day was into it and ok, i will try and keep a lookout for your progress, Janet, x

  7. Hello everyone!

I'm Sarah, 36, from Sheffield. I'm having a sleeve gastrectomy with Mr Ackroyd at BMI Thornbury as soon as is humanly possible!

I'm very glad to be here :)

Hi, i live near Doncaster which isn't too far from you, i have been waiting 2 years for my op at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, and am hoping to have my op in feb, i have had delays due to health issues and once the latest one is sorted i am top of the list.

Are you having yours on the nhs?

I go to a brill support group on the first thursday of every month and you would be welcome to come along if you don't have one closer that you can go to.

We have people who have had all 3 wls and some who have not had their op on the nhs or in this country.

Do you have a date, or are you waiting on one.

Welcome to the group, the articles and wls success stories are very encouraging, as well as those who have come through complications.

I have found it difficult to make friends on here that communicate with me regularly, but still get loads of encouraging posts and support, hope u enjoy and be encoraged, look forward to hearing from you.

I am 55, disabled, happily married with 2 grown sons and 2 jack russell dogs that we treat like family, we are christians, but are not bible bashers or religeous, bye for now, Janet, x

  8. Hi, just been told I do have lupus, my nurse is talking to my surgeon later today and will get back to me, I am pencilled in for Jan. I have Googler lupus and the sleeve and have found out that the sleeve is suggested and the people who have had the sleeve and have lupus are better after surgery, because the other illnesses have reduced, eg diabetes, sleep apnea got better, so I live in hope , x

  9. no, still waiting, i am in the uk and even though treatment is free, you just have to wait and wait, which is the only drawback, i am not worrying, my head is in a good place again.

I am hoping the results come back this week and can get on with treatment if needed.

I am just hoping that whatever it is i can still have my sleeve which will help me with most of the other illnesses i suffer with, thanks for replying, x
