  1. For about a week before my preop I ate things I knew I could maybe never eat again or at least it would be quite a while. Im 6 weeks post op now and can eat pretty much anything just not much of it at a time so i I eat my Protein first then veggies I didnt go through this to eat junk and be unhealthy still.I nhaven't tried anything sweet and really have no desire for it right now.

  2. Its Unfortunate you have to feel the wrath and regret of those who have experienced problems. My sister is Kapoorvilla and quite frankly she almost died through her surgery complications which were no fault of her own but yet she gave helpful, thoughtful kind advice. Its no more your fault than it is theirs. First of all it seems to be pretty normal not to feel when you are full on liquids because they move through so quickly. as you advance to pureed it will become more evident. popcorn seems to be the worse thing you did thats scary to me, but hope fully it wont bother you. You should try to get back on track and follow your surgeons orders, If you're still worried call your nut or Doc and get professional opinions before you get too upset. I will be praying omes easier for you to stick to the program

  3. It gets better. I'm almost 5 weeks out and im eating pretty much anything I want, I just have to chew it really well and have smaller portions, trouble is sometimes I forget and swallow too much at one time or eat too fast and am full before i realize it.Usually for Breakfast its about 1 cup of oatmeal or Cereal and a cup of coffee then mid morning a Protein Shake lunch is 1/2 cup of Protein and 1/2 cup of veggie. supper is 1 to 1-1/2 cups of protein and veggies if im low on protein or hungry before bedtime i have another protein shake. Thats about it im down about 48lbs since the pre-op diet and surgery

  4. liquids and pureed went great and i felt great only issue has been Constipation, saw my doc friday and he said add a stool softener. Today i have severe diarehha its like Water and I cant get far from the toilet.I had some nausea yesterday and some loose stools last night. Friday was my first day on soft foods I first thought maybe it was the soft scrambled egg for Breakfast Saturday but now im wondering is it the stool softeners or something else anyone else had this issue Id love some input? Today ive only had some oatmeal one Protein Shake and some pureed mashed potatoes with meatloaf and gravy about 1/2 cup.

  5. My sister and i began this journey to be sleeved in Feb, 2012, I was sleeved 11/26/12. Everything went great with surgery, I spent one night in the hospital, came home the next day was able to get in all my fluids and Protein Shakes and felt great. My sister was sleeved 12/5/12. Same doctor same hospital we had compared notes I told her what to expect, she actually is younger and in better health than me so naturally we thought this would be just as mine had and we would continue on with our journey. It was far from that. She was in surgery 5 hrs and they almost lost her, immediately they hit scar tissue and as they began to cut through it her bowel was pierced, Immediately the laproscopic surgery stopped and she was cut from her breast to her vagina straight down to repair the damaged bowel. Her sleeve was also completed, over the next few days she had problems with her blood levels, her wound kept draining and bleeding and then today 5 days later she had to go back to emergency because her small intestine was about to literally fall out. This time surgery was only an hour everything was put back in place and stitched up and she seems to be doing very well, I'm sharing this not to scare anyone but just to let you know what can happen none of this seems to be error on anyone part, its just an unfortunate occurence, no one could have known the scar tissue would be there covering the bowel and also her insides were pushed up higher than they should have been. But despite all of this she said today after surgery I would still recommend this surgery to someone that needed it. WE never know what suprises life has for us,we thought we would both be home tonight comparing our weight loss, sharing our feelings and making plans for the future, but thats not the way it is tonight but thanks to a lot of prayers, God's grace and mercy that day will come. Dont just dismiss all the risk associated with this surgery, think about, pray about, talk about, and be prepared for whatever may happen.
