  1. Surgery on the 14th. I'm down 15lbs. Is this on track, fast, or slow for this period in my journey? Very curious!!! Thanks in advance once again
  2. I'm only 5 days out, but even I can say DON'T WORRY!!! People tend to think that simply burning more calories than you consume is enough to lose weight. But sometimes that is not true! Our body has an AMAZING ability to pause when it think it needs to so that it doesn't die. If you think about it, your body is amazingly protective of you. When it's sure you're ok, you'll lose again. That's a certainty. And it'll happen sooner than later. Focus on just being healthy right now! Xoxox
  3. When I met my fiancé, he had a shaved head with a van dyke and I found him to be super sexy! He still shaves his head... sometimes with facial hair, sometimes none..and he's still hot. My friend Anne, for instance tho is a hair girl. She loves a nice head of hair. I have never met another woman with that trait, but I do still think it depends on the woman.
  4. I sleep on my sides, so I can usually sleep for about 4 hours before I have to get up to adjust the pain I feel in my hips. I do get up to pee in the middle of the night, but I'm not worried that sleeping through the night will cause a clot.
  5. I totally forgot about isopure! I'll pick some up. Thanks!!!
  6. Such a pain, isn't it? When I started this process, mine shot up past 40 a couple times! I felt dead! Not to mention the 20 pound weight gain over the course of a month. Hopefully, your levels are still good.
  7. I was aware that my Dr goes a bit more aggressively, in that he makes the sleeve in the smaller side. He says that because of this, the profession of the diet takes a bit longer. I'm kind of hoping I'm not expected to do proteins next week, but I doubt it. That wouldn't be healthy. We CAN do it. But I can't right now! Lol.
  8. What is your Tsh level? I was able to bring mine down to 1.37 before surgery so I'm hoping I won't be a total slow loser. Mind telling me your thyroid level?
  9. I'm almost 5 days out. I am having a hard time getting in all my fluid because of how full I always feel. I believe I still have a bit of gas in me, and have had bowel movements, but I can just use the reassurance that this is normal. My gas pain is still very much around. Just burp and fart already!!!! I'm really worried about my upcoming full liquid phase (clear liquids now), as I can not imagine having to drink protein shakes on top of water. Hurts my belly just thinking about it.
  10. I'm day 4 and I just can't wait to be able to get in some protein. I'm on clear liquids currently and I am hoping I don't start getting nauseous. I hate nausea. Head hunger comes and goes but hasnt been unbearable. I think he vomiting in the hospital scared me into not even thinking about going fwd before I'm ready.
  11. I love hearing how satisfying only one piece is. I also got this surgery to end a my bad relationship wih food, but it is very important to me to be able to eat foods I love (and can tolerate) in moderation. It will be so nice to be ok wih just a single slice!!
  12. Since I am only 4 days out, I haven't a clue what I am capable of by summer! Hmm. Surgery day weight: 287 CW: 276 Summer goal? 236? Lol! No idea!
  13. Hey sunshine, where did you get the dessert protein? I'm totally saving that recipe.
  14. I wouldn't recommend honey because of the sugar. I have a bunch of pills to take because of my thyroid and anemia. The Pepcid is capsule, and I just pour that into a bit of water. I choke it down. Sometimes that is just what you have to do. I would say applesauce. Good luck!
  15. I'm 4 days out. 11 pounds down. I'm not really focused on the weight right now, as I am too busy trying to stay hydrated and get this friggin gas out. I'm pooping, which is awesome. Love the sf Popsicles. Jello, not so much. And I'm taking my pain meds pretty much every 4 hours. If I don't, the gas becomes a bit too much. Why suffer if the meds take it away? The meds do, however, give me really bad dreams. Can't win for losin! Lol GO US!
  16. Ok good lol. I swear I've been working on this thing for 30 minutes because I'm so paranoid. Thanks!!!!!
  17. ....a little container of jello? I'm trying to be vey careful because I HATE nausea, so how long should I make it last?
  18. Ugh. My experience was awful. Also a very full belly and I spent the next 24 hours either vomiting, or praying to vomit. The extreme nausea was so terrible.
  19. Good luck. I'm 4 days out and it hasn't been easy. It does get better everyday. You will do great.
  20. They just put a glue I've the incisions. I guess I got lucky! I am starting to bruise, but no complaints. I'm glad I don't have hosed hose drains either!
  21. Great, Kirk. So incredibly true. I will do this.
  22. It just hits home in all the bad ways. I heard the news while recovering in the hosp. I don't usually cry for strangers, but I cried for him. Just so sad.
  23. Well then! That's the best news I've heard in quite a while. Thank you for taking the time to share that with me
