Dr Enoch is at the same office as mine! I used Dr Jon Michael Bruce. That office is amazing - Bariactric Specialists of NC are wonderful. Everyone has been very helpful. I enjoyed Patrick (nutritionist).
I have an appointment in two weeks - I look forward to each visit. Dr Enoch is usually about 2 hours late though due to spending so much time with each patient.... Dr Bruce is usually on time - due to my lifestyle, I had to go with the easier of the two...

I don't know much about plans... I am working with some people who have been running for a while... They have told me to run on Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Fri for 3-5 miles each day... take off Saturday and Monday... let Sundays be my long day and go one mile farther every Sunday...
We will see - I am not convinced that I will be able to jog all of it, but I am going to aim for that... I am going to have to do some reading to find out how to prepare food and liquid-wise....

I had surgery on August 9th...walking on August 10th... Jogging on August 20th... 5k on October 27...
I just registered for my first half marathon for march 17th
Still can't believe it!

I "fit" better in the car and in movie theaters - I am not embarrassed to go clothing shopping anymore and can shop in the regular stores... even bought size 10 jeans at GAP last week... My three kids are proud of me... and finally...
I AM PROUD OF MYSELF!!!

Go slow- stay busy- always be sipping on something.... But I'm four months out and have lost 50+ pounds.., at some point you will have to at least let them know about a new workout schedule you have... It will be obvious

I had my surgery august 9th, 2012... I am 53 pounds down today!

Jon Michael BRUCE of NC Bariactric Specialists did my Sleeve on August 9th of this year - I LOVE HIM - his office was great... I had my first appt with him on July 18, then three weeks later I had my surgery.
I am almost five months out and have lost over 50 pounds - they have a great support group meeting once a month complete with clothing swaps and a nutrionist...
I HIGHLY recommend this office

On Top of this wonderful new weight... in August I wore a size 22....
Today I was shopping with a friend, and I decided to just try on a pair of size 10's at the gap.... They zipped and buttoned - still tight, but at least I can see them in my future!!!
So, I am now the owner of a pair of size TEN jeans!

Went for a weigh in and labs yesterday into the doctor's office - I was 229 at my largest (non pregnant) weight... 220 this summer...
YESTERDAY I WEIGHED IN AT
167!!!!
this was how much I weighed the day I got married in 1993... So happy to have started this journey!

did not drink enough today... ran a 5k this afternoon in just under 40 minutes... but did not drink....
trying to catch up right now - have a horrible headache... any ideas?

one day at a time... just do it!!!!
My hubby did not want me to do it because of the risks... then I showed him that the top 5 reasons for death for women are ALL caused by obesity... I was more at risk for dying while walking to get the mail than to have this surgery.
I am now off pre-diabetes medication and my blood pressure medication... I am also jogging my FIRST ever 5K on October 27th... I never would have thought that this was possible... I only had surgery 8 weeks ago... Went to my first appointment on July 18, then ran through all of the appointements and had surgery on August 9....
I have only one regret... I am 41, wish I had done this ten years prior....

AWESOME for you!!! I am 8 weeks out and have lost 35 pounds - sounds like this has been a livesaver for you!
What a great change in your life!
way to go!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss! I do not know about you, but pre-surgery I handled all of that kind of stres and emotional turmoil by closet eating...
Now, I take it out on the track by jogging still I want to pass out or kick boxing or hitting a bag... It is so much more rewarding...
I would contact your nutritionist and get some good choice for Protein... and then start moving as much as you can... At times when I would normally eat (at the computer or while watching tv or when alone at the house) I try to exercise instead... just trying to make new habits...
-
You need to get between 60-90 grams of Protein a day... in order for your body to burn FAT instead of your muscles, you have to eat protein... otherwise you will not see the fat go.
I had surgery on August 9th. I have lost between 30-35 pounds... I say that you are doing great.
Just think - instead of gaining weight or maintaining weight YOU ARE LOSING... I do not know about you, but it has been 17 years since I could say that honestly.
Keep your chin up - eat more slowly... chew a lot more. If you cannot do Protein shakes, you may be lactose intolerant - try muscle milk or another lactose free Protein. Really try to get as much protein and liquids as possible. You want to keep your muscle and your HAIR!!!
You can do this - a year from now, we will be gorgeously thinner and healthier... just imagine!

This is day five of spotting just enough to be annoying...
-
my husband was against the surgery... period. He said that if I wanted to change, change - but he loved me the way I was
okay, that sounds sweet - but I found it rude and unsupportive. I had tried EVERYTHING. I had so many things starting to go wrong that my body was fighting against itself. My doctor said that she did not think it was possible for me to do it alone...
now I am 8 weeks out, 30 pounds down... I am walking and jogging 3-5 miles every day. I am LOVING life.. he is somewhat complimentary... but you know what? Who gives a damn.
I feel great... I am looking better... and as a mother of three, I finally did something ONLY FOR MYSELF.
there will be people who do not understand what you are doing or why, that is why you have this board... it is important that you are healthy... and it will benefit everyone around you.
ignore those who have opinions... stand up, do it for YOURSELF

Move as much as you can... there is really not much else I can suggest... I know it is a pain - just focus on the positives
you will be losing weight for the first time in a long time... this is going to change every aspect of your life... you will feel better about yourself and in general, overall... life will be easier in so many ways
I am 8 weeks out and do not remember ever feeling as good as I do right this minute...
I am jogging in my first ever 5K on October 27... YOU CAN DO THIS
I know you are weak and in pain, but get up and move... hang your legs over the side of the bed and kick them... wave your arms... walk laps around the room... move move move... keep your eyes focused on the goal of living and feeling better, and get up!!!
-
I am 8 weeks from surgery... I have lost just over 30 pounds... from 217 down to 186. I am 41.
I have been spotting for four days now. But I was not supposed to start until October 16th.
would this be due to the weight loss and overall body changes?
-
I think if looks great - I had surgery August 9th, and I am a preschool teacher... I move a lot at my job, but not nearly as much as you!
I am now walking/jogging for the first time in my life... must say that it is the most rewarding thing I have ever done for myself~

I had surgery on August 9th... the alarm kept going off that night every time I laid my head down... It stayed around 41... I would wave my arms in the air to get it back up to 60..... then lay down and down it would fly...
I am now two months out, 30 pounds down and doing great
