I had a fill on the 7th but I don't have much resrtiction. I go in on the 9th and I will ask how much they put in. They did it during my port replacement surgery so I have no idea how much they did we talked about doing a small amount because I was doing so good without any fills before that. Should I get more or wait until I stop losing? I don't know what to do. It seems like I can still eat too much.

I am starting to finally feel restriction. It is great to feel something now since I had my surgery June 1st and just now got a fill. When then fixed my port they did a slight fill at the same time. I don't know how much though because I don't see the doctor for 4 weeks.

Finally starting to feel better since my port revision and gall bladder removal on Friday. I am not recovering from this surgery like I did from the original lap band surgery. The doctor was supposed to do a fill but I don't feel any different, then again I am not really hungry now either. I am hoping that this is it for a while and I can work on getting healthy.

Hello everyone. On Friday I go in for surgery again to have my port fixed, my first fill and my gallbaldder removed. I hope this will be it for a while, I am ready to get on with everything. I have been reading all the postings and you guys are doing great. I will check in after surgery to let you all know how it went.

Well, after about two weeks of being very sick I ended up in the ER. Turns out I had a stomache virus and my gall bladder needs to be removed. I really don't want surgery again but I guess I have to. I will have my port fixed at the same time so that I can have my first fill also. I am kind of mad at the doctor because I asked him if they checked the gall bladder when they put the band in and he said he would, but I find that hard to believe.

I need to call the office to set a date for the port fix. I just have not been feeling well so I didn't get aroung to it. I need to find out if my insurance will cover it, if I need authorization again and so on. I will check everything out on Monday. I am feeling a little better today. I think I just caught a nasty stomach virus.

I just got back from the doctor and found out that my post flipped, it wasn't just tilted like the nurse thought. My doctor says I have to have surgery to correct it. I am feeling very down right now. I didn't want problems so soon, or even at all. To top it off I was vomiting for about 10 straight hours on this week and am scared that my band slipped. I asked the doctor about that too and he just kind of strugged and said it should be okay. I might ask for an upper gi before I get the port fixed just to ease my mind.

Reno or N. Nevada Bandsters out there???

I meet with my doctor on 8/2 to see if he can do a fill and if not we will discuss other options. I can try to have fills un floro or have a revision to reposition the port. I think the nurses name that tried my fill was Lori. She was very nice but had a difficult time.

Did any of you have problems with your port moving? I went in for my first fill last week and after trying several times to do a fill I was sent for an x-ray. Turns out that my port is tilted now. I had a feeling I did something to it because that area hurt very bad a day before I went to see the doctor. Anyways, after the x-ray I asked them to try again since they could tell which way it was tilted and they still couldn't get it. I am very discouraged now and am having a hard time because I have no restriction.

If the surgeon thinks that the port needs to be put back inplace then I will have to have a small surgery again. I was at wrok bending over to get into a file cabinet and when I sat up I had a very bad pain where my port is. They think that I did something to it then.

How is everyone doing? I thought I would check in. I was doing very good with restriction until about a week ago. All of a sudden I can eat more than I was able to since the surgery. I went in Wednesday for my first fill and they told me that I was doing great and didn't need one. I insisted because I was scared that I could eat more. Needless to say when the nurse tried to do my fill she couldn't access the port. She tried several tiems bending the needle each time. I had to go for x-rays and found out that my port is almost flipped. I asked them to try one more time since they had the x-ray and could see where the port was but thy still couldn't get it. I was and still am very sore now and bruised. I am so disappointed because now they are talking about going in to fix it. I just wanted everything to be smooth.

Hi All, Just checking in. I have been staying off the computer because I tend to stay on it all night and do nothing else, like exercise. I am doing great though. I don't have a fill until July 18th but I am not needing it yet. I get full when I eat about a cup to a cup and a half of food. I try new foods a little at a time and have found a few things that give me problems but can eat pretty much anything right now.

I had a question for you all. I know the guidelines for what types of food I should be eating week by week, but when did you try more solid foods? When I went in for my post op appoinment last week they told me that I was not eating enough (I have been very tired). I just can't stomach more pudding, yogurt, shakes, or etc. right now.

I had my hiatal hernia repaired also. My surgery was June 1st and I am still having some pain from the hernia repair. Did you doctor mention how long that pain would last?

Hello everyone, I haven't posted in a while. Before the surgery I got very nervous and did not want to go on the boards at all. Today is the first day that I have felt like myself since the surgery. I had my post op visit yesterday and tried to bring some of my concerns up with my doctor but he basically said they were normal. He did tell me that I have to eat more though. I have been very tired. Best wishes to everyone that has had their surgery and are recovering and good luck to everyone that is due for surgery soon.

Getting ready to be banded on Friday, good luck to everyone! I had my required pre-op class today and everything went well. Liquid diet still stinks but I am sticking to it.

Still working through the liquid diet. I have managed to follow it except for the number of times per day that the doctor wants me to have shakes. The surgical group that my doctor is in asks all patients to lose 10% of their weight before surgery. I am scared that I am not going to be able to do that and that they will tell me they can't do the surgery. I am also having side and back pain and am worried that something else is wrong and it will delay my surgery also. The doctors are so booked that if I had to changed my surgery date it would be months before I could get another date.

Dr. C, Recently I started having a pain on my right side. It has now spread accross my back. I am worried about gall bladder issues. Does this sound like it could be gall bladder related?

Reno or N. Nevada Bandsters out there???

Thank you all for the replys. I bought some sugar free chocolate syrup and it is a little better now. I also have been drinking chicken broth at night. I am stinking to the liquid diet 100% by not having anything else but still not having as many shakes as they say you should have per day. I am working my way up to it.

Dr. Sasse is doing my surgery and he didn't say anything about the 10% when I had my appointment with him last week. But then again I hadn't started the liquid diet yet. By the way, how are you doing? Feeling and healing ok?

    Liquid Diet Support Thread

I started my two week liquid diet today. I can have protein shakes, broth, water, and sugar free kool aid basically. I am supposed to have about 6 shakes per day but could only do 3. At least I wasn't hungry. All I can say is yuck and I can't wait for this part to be over.

Reno or N. Nevada Bandsters out there???

I had my pre-op appointment last week and just started my liquid diet today. I do not like the shakes and was only able to drink three of them. I quess when I get real hungry I will be able and wanting to do more but today I really had to force myself. At least I wasn't hungry. I am worried that I will not drop the 10% in weight that they ask of you before surgery. Do you all meet that requirement?
