  1. Mine its October 18! I can honestly say I have done some serious fantasizing about food during this Optifast liquid diet but just two more days and I can say I have not cheated a single time! Something to be proud of, I think. =) I have just be telling myself that soon at least some of my hunger will be abated, and perhaps I can start living my life a little less centered around food! I appreciate anyone's prayers for me Thursday.... To be quite honest I am a little scared.

  2. Me too! Today is a rough day so far. I have 5 more days of my 14 day Optifast liquid diet and I think I could eat three times my body weight right now....even the thought of just some veggies makes me salivate....lol. A few more days, a few more days and hopefully my tummy wont be hurting with hungry anymore.....lol Still though I refuse to give in to cheating because I want success more than anything! Cant wait for Thursday to get here! Best of luck to you!

  3. I'm struggling with my two week liquid diet. They would like me to lose 12/13 lbs on this two week diet, and the first few days looked like this was going to be a walk in the park. Until yesterday when I only lost .2 lbs and then today when I got on the scale and to my horror had actually gained two back. Overnight no less.

The hardest part is that I really have been a saint. A serious saint. Not one bite of anything that isn't allowed. Right now I would really just like to cry. I expected that if I really did this right that I would see some of the results i'm seeing from others on this site. I know I can't compare myself to others but it's hard to see people losing 20-30 lbs in two weeks and me sitting at 6 lbs a week in. I lost about 30 lbs in the months prior to this diet and i'm wondering if i'm just hitting that slowdown, but either way, I'm worried about this.

Would love to hear from others that maybe had the same issue.

    Have a wonderful night!

    Jenny

  4. I am in the same boat. Have told only my boss and family, but will tell others that ask after the fact. I really just don't want to hear other peoples horror stories or opinions.... or frankly their shocked reactions. If someone asks me later though, I will be honest about it. I'm sure there will be plenty of gossip, but you know what? I really don't care, because hopefully by that point I'm going to be looking good and feeling great, so who cares? Let them talk!

  5. How much is the surgery??? I would be self pay also. Not trying to be nosy, but I have Blue Cross Preferred and they won't pay for anything associated with weight loss, so I can't use my insurance. And I need to know how much something like this costs. So can someone tell me?

  6. I imagine it would be, but once I get that surgery date, I think I can just hide out when others are eating as much as possible. Do you think you felt really hungry or was it the smells and desire to have solid food I wonder....

I audit medical records so I mainly just sit and read all day. Shouldn't be a problem unless I am incredibly ill.

Kudos on your weight loss so far... that must feel sooooo good!

I've lost about 35 lbs on my own in preparation for this... I've always been able to lose when I really tried but could never keep it off because eventually the hunger got the better of me. (You can only feel like you are starving yourself so long). I bet it feels so good to be seeing the weight fall so quickly!

  7. Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I got a good rate for the loan... and the self pay package ended up being much less than it would have had I tried to get my ins company's measly 5000. I can't wait to get it started so I can get past the first weeks. How long did it take for you to go back to work? I have two weeks of vacation I can use-- I have a very sedentary job thankfully, for at least this reason... What did you find to be the most difficult thing for you? I am most worried about feeling "weak" which is what happens if I go too long without eating. Was the pre surgery liquid diet difficult?
