  1. Sorting through all the clothes that are too big- putting them in boxes and taking them to the charity shop

Also love trying on clothes that have been too small but fit/nearly fit or will soon fit- that's ace!!!

Especially knowing that I won't ever ever be in those big fat clothes again!!!!

  2. just wondering how our scottish friends are doing' date=' hope you are good and look forward to hearing how you are doing, x[/quote']

    Hi there!

    I'm doing great Thanks!!

3 weeks out yesterday and feeling much better, tiredness can still be an issue but helps if get plenty Protein in. I've lost 28lbs in total from my heaviest weight. Incisions are totally fine- still feel a bit tender inside but no big deal at all. I'd say first 2 weeks is def the worst- now I can eat soft food I feel normal again. The hardest thing to get my head round is how little it takes to feel totally full. I can imagine I will find that frustrating at times!! So far no problem, but I can see the potential risk for moments of "wanting" to eat but won't be able and how that might be emotionally challenging.

It's all good though and I'm so excited that THIS TIME I am actually going to lose the weight! Often I'd get to this point on a diet and muck it up- go back go my old ways and pile it all back on- NOT THIS TIME!

What about you- you got a new date yet? How's pre op diet going?

    Xxxx

  3. Me too!

I was sleeved on 4th October and its the tiredness that is definitely holding me back now. It must be lack of calories as well as carb withdrawals I think ....but hard to bear and very limiting. I have great ideas of what I plan to get done each day but when it comes round I'm just so so tired- I can't shake it. When will it stop?

  4. Hi there

We're sleeve sisters- I had my surgery 4th Oct too. Like you I'm up and down- it's the exhaustion that I'm finding hard. Is that why you feel you need B12 shot? My surgeon has advised I take berocca vit drink daily as well as multi vit but nothing else....

  5. I was sleeved on 4th October so just 5 days or so before you. I'm now on soft mushy diet as from today and I can tell you it is different -just as OTR sleever said.

So expect the restriction to change drastically! it does. Like you I found full liquids no problem but moving to soft mushy puréed food shows me that they defo removed my stomach and didn't just knock me out!!

The next phase is getting your head round how little you can eat as mentally that can be a shock.

  6. Hiya

I was sleeved on the 4th October- 2 wks tmz!

I've lost 17.5lbs since pre op and 26.5lbs down from heaviest weight!

Feeling good about that. Only problem is exhaustion- it's hard to get in enough Protein and struggling with low carb intake.

Just want to fast forward this bit and get on to eating food again- liquid phase is pants.

  7. What a difference 2 weeks makes!

Starting to feel more like myself now. The only problem there is the temptation to progress post op diet too soon as you feel like you could handle more than just liquid. Weigh in this morning .... 4lbs since last week. That's a total of 17.5lbs since pre surgery and 26.5lbs from my heaviest weight!

    Amazing

  8. Had my surgery 10/10 & am STILL in pain. At home on fluids. Right now i have really bad hiccups and it feels like my stomach is gona burst with each hiccup!!! It hurts so bad!!!! :(

    Hiccups are torture

I know how you feel.... They hurt.

I know this sounds nuts but go have a hot shower. I swear that helped me. Don't know if it was the steam or just managing to relax or could be coincidence but it helped me ...

  9. One week post op!

So pleased- I have lost 7lbs since surgery date (on the 4th) and 9lbs from the 10 day pre op diet so in total that's 16lbs in almost as many days!!! Crazy!

Im also down 25lbs from my heaviest weight and feeling so pleased that I know I'll NEVER get that big again.

Healing fine, I have 5 incisions and they all look good, managing to sleep on my side and pain is minimal. My only question is how long will we keep burping gas? It's very off putting that I have to burp after every sip I swallow and gurgle like crazy- surely this settles down?

  10. Hiya fellow Scot!

They'll want a medical history from you and why you feel weight loss surgery is a good option for you, they'll go over your diet and weight loss past and why you ask you why you're there. What do you think this surgery will do for you etc

They go over all the options and pros and cons for each.....

    Hope that helps

  11. Hey wolf!

Don't beat yourself up! I was freaking out that I messed up on my pre op diet and i had a few less than well behaved moments on mine. I think most people do. It's so final and we know we are going to miss our old ways sometimes so it's tempting to "have just one last...."

I was sleeved on 4th October and the first thing I asked my surgeon when I can round "was my liver small enough" to which he answered "yes, no problems at all" I had been so worried that my blips would mean my liver hadn't shrunk enough but thankfully being good for the vast majority of the diet I was ok.

So what I'm trying to say is, dust yourself off, get back on the diet and look forward, be truthful to yourself as I'm sure you knew deep down you were setting yourself up for a "one last night with the boys" somewhere in your mind? Well you did it- enjoy it for what it was and get back on track.

  12. Hello everyone

So pleased to join you all on this side! I was sleeved on the 4th, got home this afternoon from hospital and glad to be here in my own comforts. Like you all I'm finding it difficult to get in all the Water and suffering with gurgling tum and gas pains. It's such a relief when they pass, in the midst of them it feels like you might have a heart attack it takes hold of you like a vice. Not so good.

Been feeling overwhelmed and emotional but find if i just read the amazing testimonials of people ahead of me then I feel reassured.

Just want to fast forward this recovery phase and hope it continues to go well for us all.

I'm trying to stay away from my scales as I don't want to be put off if I'm not down-they pump you full of fluids in hospital and your body is bound to retain as much as it can after the shock if surgery. I will try to wait 2 weeks if I can!!!

Good luck and warmest get well wishes to you all from your sleeve sister in bonny Scotland, UK.

  13. On my way home from the hospital now. Still feel tired from the operation but nothing too bad. It's a struggle to get all the Water down as tummy is swollen and gas also causes restriction but its getting easier. Just want to fast forward next few days. It's a bit of a roller coaster of emotions.

  14. I'm through it!

Sleeved yesterday. It's all going well. There are definitely worse things in life to endure than this -- hopefully my recovery continues like this.

Good luck to all and get well soon wishes to my fellow sleevers recovering

    We did it!

  15. It's all done!

I was sleeved yesterday but this has been my first chance to post. I feel discomfort not pain, bit nauseated but they keep on top of that with meds. Managing to sip Water, but first few times felt like a golf ball going down and a lot of resistance. Its getting easier, There are defo worse things you can go through- so far so good- keeping everything crossed my recovery continues like this.

Get well soon to everyone who's been sleeved the last few days.

    We're doing this!!!!
