what oatmeal do you use? I'd like to try that.. I used to do the granola in my yogurt (waaaaay before McDonalds did ...) for the longest...but that has a lot of sugars... thanks, Kindle

someone sew my mouth shut!
I feel you...the sweets buffet is set up right behind my cubicle too... I can just SMELL the sugar... looking at it makes me sick to my stomach, so, fortunately, I wasn't even tempted... good thing they don't do this kind of thing regularly. I finally asked my boss to have raw almonds put in the vending machine for days that I need a little something but have nothing on hand, since everything in there is pure FAT!!! It's difficult, and we may stumble along the way, just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again!

quick breakfast ideas to take on the go
try this one... scramble an egg (or 2) tear up a slice of cheese and heat in a mug, in microwave, for about 30 seconds, if you can have another slice of cheese, tear it up and again nuke for 20 seconds... the mug keeps it warm ... my sis gave me this idea, and it is another great, "on the go" item, but also something you can sit and enjoy...once you can take vegetables, etc, you can add tomatoes, mushrooms, or whatever you please...me, I like it plain give me CHEESY eggs all day long!!!!

quick breakfast ideas to take on the go
if you are in past liquids...in the World According to Eggface, she makes mini quiches in a mini cupcake pan... basically you scramble up the eggs and put whatever you want in them and put them in the sprayed mini pan and bake them up... you'll have breakfast all week She offers a lot of recipes as there are on here as well...but, again, depends on what stage you are on now.

Super afraid of a leak! No symptoms, just paranoid of the risk.
Yes, these days it's very, very uncommon.... they do leak tests after they do the surgery, etc... relax... sleep, sip, surrender to your sleeve

Starting my 10 day liquid pre-op diet tomorrow and I'm freaked out!
Some websites offer sample packs of flavors, so you may want to try that option. I just bought a big tub of a different chocolate and was quite disappointed with the flavor... I use some sugar free Syrup to make it better... raspberry is really yummy in it! So you may want to try that option... Walmart carries Tocani and so does World Market (more selection) in little bottles and then when you find the ones you like, you can get BIG bottles Hope that will help... I used Slim Fast low carb pre-made shakes pre-op and they were good and easy to grab and go in the morning

Protein Shakes why?
I posted on the other link...what you can do is edit it by removing all the text and putting "double post"... I haven't found a way to delete a post either...but I did a double once, and that's what I did to avoid a double thread

Protein Shakes why?
you are posted on here twice with this... you may want to delete this one

Protein Shakes why?
You may want to ask her again...but you need to supplement with Water for sure, stay hydrated. Try some sugar free syrups in your Protein drinks to see if you can offset the taste. I bought some premade stuff in a can (only a few fortunately) and all I can taste is the CAN! So I added some raspberry syrup and it goes down better. Also the chocolate Protein powder I bought this time is kind of bland, so I bump it up a notch with the syrups...all kinds of flavors to help you out! Good luck...you can do this!

Your opinion counts....... but maybe not.
Wait did someone say something about alcohol? I'm in! LOL...that is one of my favorite sayings...I barely had alcohol before surgery, so I'm NOT having any now...but the saying stands....

entering onederland finally
I thought I'd be there by now...but it's on the horizon...just have to work harder to achieve it at this point... once I hit Onederland I know I'll have a new attitude (to quote Tina...LOL)... it will mean the world to me to hit that mark...that may be my WHOA "butterfly" moment!

normal not to be overly nervous?
I didn't have any food funerals...I was so excited about getting sleeved, I was watching what I ate from the time I was told my surgery date!!! I really had no apprehensions about the surgery, I WAS READY!!! Congrats on your new journey!

Your opinion counts....... but maybe not.
I hear ya! I take it all with a grain of salt (around a margarita glass..>LOL...if only)... sometimes I think because we can't actually "hear" the person, the tone comes across wrong... I know I would never, intentionally post anything like that...but it may happen...and if so, I apologize in advance ...

Anyone have an issue with Sucralose/Splenda?
Funny you should say that, Pegsboard, I recently have been having a problem with my left wrist... thought it might me carpel tunnel acting up...but it could be because of all the Splenda I consume... I may buy some Stevia and see if there is a difference... thanks for the info!

Starting my 10 day liquid pre-op diet tomorrow and I'm freaked out!
The first couple of days were the hardest, as your body does it's detox thing...but then I was fine, and appreciated the cleansing...no diet cokes was the hardest... but haven't touched carbonated beverages since my pre-op and I'm good ... I know I've said this before, but I find (for me) if I'm having a tough time of it and feel I NEED something, I go to a hot beverage (decaf tea/broth) and sip slowly and that seems to do the trick to get "over the hump"...good luck...you've got this!

Time off after Sleeve
I took 3 weeks and then came back on half days for a week...I had FMLA, and well, I hate my job... so there you go! Up and down a lot will bother your incisions so I would think 3 weeks would be best for you...but consult with your doctor of course!

Protein Powders

Protein Powders

Chronic Pain and Surgery- Surgeon Recommendations?
In my hospital, I had a pain pump...but really didn't need it much... the first day, after surgery was probably the worse, but I pumped and slept ... then I had a script for pain meds that we picked up on the way home...so I would think in Mexico you will get pain meds more easily LOL...I'm sure someone will post about that as many have had it done there... good luck, it'll be ok!

Sleeve safe pain medication
I am surprised that they didn't tell you or prescribe you a different medication! I can only take Tylenol for regular pain...no advil or aleve anymore... call your doctor for help on that, please, you want to get the right information for you!
