  1. Ok, Holidays are over, I have been cleared for all activities after hernia(ouch) and panniculectomy sugery in November. My Challenge to myself...I have started the arm and plank challenge plus Im at the gym doing my class, cardio and weights 5 times a week! Happy to be back, starting to feel lazy and liking it (boo)

  2. I haven't been here forever, don't know if its the new setup or life causing me to nit be online as much. I have really missed the support and info. My hubby had surgery in December, so I'm trying to get back on track with him. I'm staying right at the same weight but still have 10-15 to go. I'm 16 months out, but I'm not sure how many posts I have. Nice to see the banter between some off you still continuing, makes me smile!

  3. Day three, 6 miles so far right on track, wish I could do more... Soon very soon...

Nsv today, walked into a gyro place that we had been to before, the kid working behind the counter, after I ordered my meat without bread, says you are looking so skinny, what are you doing? Are you trying to lose cause you look great! Yay!

  4. Yes there is a december challenge. It's in the fitness forum. Join in. I know you're not 100% yet but I'm sure you're ready to get back to your previous activity. Are you walking?

I found the forum, yes I've been walking. I'm struggling from pain on left side, sharp stabbing, not able to breathe deeply, cough or sneeze without dying. I put a call into the dr. Just waiting now. I think my goal Could be 2 miles a day for Dec.

  5. Haven't been on keeping track on here daily, but since my surgery I wasn't sure what a realistic goal was. Had my panniculectomy and hernia repair Nov 5, so I set my goal at 20 I think. I just calculated and hit 33.85 miles, which is nowhere near what I did in Oct, but far exceeded my goal for November....I just need to remember it will take time you get back to where I was! Is there a Dec challenge, I hope?

  6. 4 miles yesterday, total of 14.21. Today is surgery day, so for the rest of the month I need to get 9 miles... Strange to think I will slow down so much... Wish me luck, I'll check in later. Surgery is not until 3 mst, so it will be late or tomorrow...=)

  7. OK, November 1 is here! I'm having panniculectomy and hernia surgery in 4 days... So my goal is to work out either c25k or my class everyday until then. I'm on end of week seven, wanted to finish... Probably not now though. After surgery I'm hoping to get in 25? Miles... I'm not sure what will be obtainable.... Let's do this!

  8. I slept in a recliner for a while. Then I bought a couple of those bed wedges....one for my upper body and one for my legs. At least with those I can sleep in the bed. But getting in the bed was almost impossible till about day 10.

Great... My recliners are horrible! And my bathrooms are on different levels of the house, so I either climb stairs to go to the bathroom, or sleep in my bed. Where did you find your bed wedges?

  9. I'm having my panniculectomy on November 5, because my insurance will pay for it. My surgeon suggested that I have a strong core and thinks I will be happy with that, would I like a tt sure but I dont have an extra $10,000 . I have a heavy lifting job, so I'm out for atleast 6 weeks. Butter, they have told me to sleep in a "beach chair" type of position did you have a special pillow, or just many?

  10. Only 1 more week? Awesome! What are your plans when you finish?

I think I'll keep running or wogging as I like to call it... I'm looking for a 5k, probably won't find one in Denver anytime soon, but I work for an airline, so I'm considering flying somewhere participate in one. I'm having my panniculectomy and hernia repair on Nov 5, so that will slow me down for a bit. But I will have finished C w25k by then. Yay!

  11. OK, total so far as of yesterday 10/25 105.35!... Had so much going on volunteering at the school, getting ready for fall break I haven't been here much. I vote that we keep the thread together just call it the "challenge yourself more" thread... Everyone welcome... Newbies to vets! Great job everyone on your totals so far, you are all inspiring from Mile #1 on up

    Thanks!

  12. First of all muscle does not weigh more than fat' date=' it weighs exactly the same, but it is more dense and smoother. And sore muscles are muscles that have been worked which means torn so they are rebuilding and that creates swelling ie, Fluid retention. For awhile as you increase your muscle mass but before the fat loss starts, you may show a higher weight for awhile, but then the increased muscle mass will jump start your fat loss and it'll be groovy. :) Good job on exercising!![/quote']

Yeah...I guess a lb is a lb... But hey when I posted it was 430 am...:P. I agree use a measuring tape instead of scale!
