    Texas girls and vanity

I turned 50 a few days ago and do have diabetes and I SAY that's the reason and it is to a great extent, but heck yeah! Arkansas girls like to shop too! I can wait to get flirted with!

    Sleeve Vs Bypass

One More reason to have the sleeve. Once you have the bypass you can never take ibuprofen or any medication at that type, no steroids. when you're young you think you're invincible but if you get older and have arthritis or any kind of inflammatory disease you will wish you could take an ibuprofen! I have an autoimmune disease. My Rheumatologist would not approve the bypass but he would approve to sleeve.

    Same pre-op diet!
  4. We would have gained from late November until now! I am not sleeved yet...I probably did! But 40 is great! I've been told 300-500 calories from my doc. I'd not lose at 1200! I've damaged my metabolism too badly!

BCBS of Texas approvals or denials?

I had BCBS of Arkansas for public employees....100% exclusion on all obesity treatment! I wanted to have this surgery years ago! In Arkansas they thought teachers should not get obesity treatment, and be good examples for the kids! Yes, I'm still bitter lol

I would love an invite too! LOL fat fingers typed "incite" I don't wanna incite anything but skinny bodies and healthier lives! LOL
  7. Me too Betty! I started this process in April! It's a long one and gives you plenty of time to back out! I would be over the moon to lose 100lbs! I've been over weight since my teens!
  8. I am 50 and will be sleeved in a few weeks. Wish I'd done it ages ago! Wanna be diabetes free! I am on 6 meds just for diabetes! Dang, that's ridiculous!
  9. I live alone and have 3 dogs. My plan is to take the 2 Mastiffs to the doggie daycare the day before surgery. I have a friend who's going to take care of my yorkie. I plan to come home alone. I know I will have to stay 1 night at the hospital and maybe too he's already told me maybe 2, because I'm a little older. Yay I turned 50 today! Has anyone come home and done at all alone or do I need to stay at my moms a day or 2? I would be so much more comfortable at home. I am pretty stubborn and independent.

for those of you who live alone

Mine liked to push his head onto my stomach and he has a huge head! He puts all 180lbs onto it too! LOL he's old and easy to take care of...the 9 month old? Not so much! LOL
  11. The BA chewables left a metallic taste in my throat for hours! Citrate is not as tasty as the carbonate! Go figure! Just like food...the tastier things are not the right things! I do like the lemon chews too! I bought a canister of unflavored crystals and throw then in something I drink. I am not on pre-op diet yet, but usually put a scoop of naked protein and calcium in my morning coffee. I can skip breakfast that way! LOL

    Protien Shakes/Powders

Just made a delish smoothie/slush ...ice, scoop if naked protein (29grams), a few slices of frozen peaches, a packet of nectresse and a tbs of bariactric advantage white grape elixir (10 grams) ....so nearly 40 grams of protein and only carbs were the 4 slices of peach. I am gonna try a few frozen berries next time!

for those of you who live alone

It's a great doggy daycare so I plan on them staying a few days. I have a big secured backyard and they can go out there. I rarely walk them. Mastiffs don't need loads of exercise and they get plenty in the yard...they even have toys and a bed out there!

My preop is Feb 8th...surgery is Feb 18th! My prepo diet is 10 days. 2 liquid meals and one small, low carb, low fat meal per day. Glad I get some food that 10 days!
  21. I take a hand full of pills every night....what happens after surgery? I've been told I could be off diabetes meds in 2days to 2 weeks, but how will I take all those horse pills? I also take pain meds all day, every day. Concerned!
