Update.....I am still in...yay! I will be going to the hospital 1 1/2 hrs away but sooo worth it! They are gonna except all preop testing, but they will have to resubmit to insurance after I meet the dr. Which is on sept 27, then they want me to take 2 of there nut visits then surgery time! I am just so happy it's still this year! Even though I would have had it in oct at least it's still gonna happen! Thank you all for your support!

What is the right amount of time to wait before calling your insurance company to see if you were approved or not? I just am soo excited I can't wait!

Thanks for this post....I know this is so wrong but my main concern wasn't that they are gonna cut out half my stomach, but that I will lose my hair! For so many years my hair was the only thing I had going for me, and to lose all that would be devastating...lol...I know it sounds rediculous! But once you lose your hair does it ever come back?

You will get a response soon ...I can feel it ...lol. You know those so called insurance gurus never helped me with anything! I did everything myself and when I got everything around to be submitted She said .....ok know you can bother them! Hmmmm maybe they will be more helpfully once I get the surgery? Sorry for the vent;)

Thanks for the support! I had myself almost talked out of doing it this weakend because I was so disappointed! I said I'm not going through all that again, then I thought I'm NOT gonna be fat my whole life! So here we are again ...lol....I have 1 more hospital to call! Hopefully my angel will be hovering over them and they will pick up where I've left off! Have you heard from your ins yet?

Well got the call today that I was approved for surgery! Yay But also that the hospital THEY told me was blue distinction is not;( so if I get the surgery there they will not cover all of it! The other 2 hospitals around me says I have to start at the beginning. I've never been so happy and sad!

I had an iud! The most awful painfully thing I ever went through! I was put on darvocet for the pain till they could take it out. DONT DO IT! Lol I actually found when I got my tubes tide and abblasion it was no where near the pain of an iud....just sayin lol

1-get a sleeve 2-go to new York 3-fly in a hot air balloon 4- buy a REALLY tight black dress 5-meet Eddie vedder and make him play the euk for me;) Ok the last one probably won't happen.....but a girl can dream;)

Hey all, submitted all my paperwork to the insurance company today! I have bcbs of Illinois how long do you think it will take to hear something? I am sooo excited!

How old are you guys? Kids,nmarital status etc .....tell me about yourselfs;)

It's seems like we may all be sleeved together.....that's awesome! This is all I think about these days, and everybody in my life is just about done hearing about it...lol It's nice to know people in the same part of this!

I also had to take a 400 question test! Like the kind you would take in school where you had to fill in the little circles...lol It actually kind of amused me , one question was do the voices in your head tell you to kill people!!! Then I got kinda disturbed thinking some people might actually say yes!

I have bcbs also and was not required any Pre op diet. I had to get my pcp to sign a letter and get a psych and nut visit and that's it. My actual surgeon requires weightless though. You may want to just call them and verify requirements! Good luck

When they submit to insurance, what weight do they use? The only time my surgeon has weighed me was at the seminar, well at that time my bmi was 40 and I weighed 248 Well now I have everything done to submit to insurance( which they should do this week...yay!!) and I went to see my pcp today and was at 232.... She then tracked my last 3 appt and I have been steadily losing weight! I am afraid they will not accept it now since I'm only 36 bmi;( unless they use the first one.

Sending a prayer to you tonight! Stay strong, my mil had breast cancer in both breasts same spot ....they called it mirroring. Well she has been cancer free for 5 years now! I actually had a mammogram in may and they found 2 lumps but since I'm only 30 they would do a rescan in 6 months so in November I go back! I know it's scary but god is with you every step! I am the exact same way! The way I help my "mindset" is I go on utube and watch people's journeys. The feeling I get after, usually makes all my doubts disappear Because that is exactly how I want to feel! ( and look;) Hope this helps.......it helps me!
