    Down In The Dumps!

Now, now, now...patience! We didn't get this way over night and it's not going to come off over night. Keep doing what your doing because if you've lost that much in 7wks, you must be doing something right!

    Exercising Before Surgery

Definitely get started, easier to keep going after getting into a routine of doing it. Most definitely helps your body recover easier after surgery. I exercise about 5 days a week and surgery date is Oct 29th. I wish I had been as diligent about exercise before surgery when I had band done.

    Any Buffalo Ny Sleevers?

26 days till sleeve day! I was previously a bander but had it taken out last month. Glad to see there is quite a few others in the area!
  4. Some may need the time for stomach to heal. One person may have a lot of scar tissue, where as another may not. Even though I didn't have much scar tissue, I still had to wait. Partly bc of insurance hiccup.

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

I live about 45mins from Buffalo, how about yourself? I don't know anyone who has had sleeve done personally. But great to see you are from same area!

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

How crazy, Dr. Hoffman took our bands out on the same day!

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Can't wait for October 29th to get here! I was banded Nov '09 by Dr. Aaron Hoffman at Buffalo General. Unfortunately the band had to go Sept '12, Dr. Hoffman did that as well and will also do my sleeve. I can't wait to get this over with, the anticipation is killing me and the weight I've put on(like over night!) is beyond awful! I still exercise 4-5 days a week. The constant feeling if being hungry is going to put me over the edge soon.
  9. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like the weight had piled on hardcore since band removal! I could cry some days when I get dressed. None of my clothes fit!! I still work out 4-5 days a week and really pay attention to what I eat and it's fkn unreal the way I've still gained weight. 27 days until sleeve day!!

    30 Days Away!

October 29th still seems so far away, looking forward to getting this over with and getting back on track to slim-dom!

    October 29

30 days away girls! As nervous as I am getting, I'm excited! As it gets closer and closer I start to become a nervous wreck! I won't sleep the night before surgery either.

    Ninja Blender?

Love it! We have one at work for doing chopped/puréed diets. I don't recommend putting it in the dishwasher tho. The bottom of it has cracked from heat, doesn't leak tho.

    Victoria's Secret!

Not to mention, 'specialty stores' tend to be so flippin expensive! Nothing made me feel crappier than having to spend a ton of money on clothes that were far from cute. And hell, even Walmart makes you feel crappy for not being a twig. Hate clothes that cost $2 more for being bigger than a large. Ugh!

    Where Are Thenoctober Sleever's At?

October 29th - it seems so damn far away yet. But it's been two weeks since I had the band out. So, hopefully the time will pass quickly and then I can get back to the downhill slide to slim-dom!

    Unjury

Is this only available for purchase online? Just trying to get a head start on finding things to drink/eat after surgery end of October. Yesterday I had band out...so I've got some time to kill while bumming around.
  16. I had independent health when I had lap band done and now have BCBS. At first they wanted me to do ALL the paperwork and such all over again! Talk about devistating to think about that all. Thankfully they turned around and approved everything without having to, but I know my doctors right hand secretary had to go through a lot of trouble to get them to consider by explaining I wasn't new to this. I'm incredibly thankful for her!

    recovery time for band removal?

Had band out last monday(9/10) and yea, I'll definitely say I've felt like a human balloon since. I've considered wearing my "super undies" to hold myself together lol
  18. I was in the same boat, band slipped and had issues and gained some weight. That weight gain has been devastating for me. When everything came back as band had slipped, my doctor gave me option to put it back in place or have revision to sleeve. I know there is higher chance of band slipping again after first slip. Doctor told me about the sleeve and gave me a few weeks to research it and come back with any questions. So I did all that and decided that I really didn't want to have surgery again for band slipping because it has caused such awful acid reflux issues already. Last Monday, I had the band out and end of October will have revision to sleeve. I'm still very nervous about it but look forward to getting back on the downhill slide towards my goal.

    Great Protein Powder

I tries the syntax nectar vanilla bean torte finally and omg is that delicious! It's not horribly sweet either, which is my biggest protein shake gripe. I'm hoping the other flavors I've ordered samples of are just as good.

    Mybariatricpantry.com has a 10pk samples of nectar for $18.99

    Band Removal

I have no issues with my Dr, it's just that a bit of mass confusion started due to the insurance jerks and surgery was moved up and only having band out...not band out and sleeve done, which requires staying overnight.

    Band Removal

As if having surgery isn't stressful enough, my insurance has only agreed to remove the band at this point in time. To have the sleeve considered they are being giant pains in the f-n asses and requiring me to do ALL the paperwork as if I was a new WLS patient. Seriously...could they stress a chick out some more?!?! Anyways, I'm having the band out this coming Monday...is this done as an out patient procedure? I know, Dr should of told me but with all the craziness insurance has caused(not just what I mentioned above), I really don't care to call his secretary again.
  23. I could careless about soda/pop...I love flavored seltzer water(not the sweetened crap). It's so much more carbonated tho. So, that's probably totally out.
