  1. I guess the only way to explain it is, A sink backing up with a clogged drain. If it can't go down the only other choice is come back up. Somethings will break down and then go down and you can feel it when it happens. If you try drinking Water it only puts more pressure on the blockage. As far as bananas I only tried eatting them once, I was driving to work on an interstate doing about 70. Can you guess how hard it is to find a place to stop and throw up at the sametime, just say it wasn't pretty. I haven't had heartburn since my surgery but my doctor ask me everytime I see him if I do, not sure why but it must be something to it so you may want to ask your doctor about it. Good luck to all of you.

  2. Eat what you think you will miss after the band, because what you eat will never be the same. I find myself missing a few things here and there. Every once in a while I wish I could eat a cheesebuger but that feeling goes away. The band and everything you have to give up is soooo worth it. The hardest thing I have found to give up is drinking while you eat. Well Good luck!

  3. I would ask questions if your not happy with the answers find another doctor. I only paid $1200 and they told me about that before I had my date. I called the insurance company and asked them what amount they were paying and what I should have to pay. They matched almost to the penny. Ask them if you will have to pay for fills for the first year after if the say yes and it's over the co-pay don't walk run from that place and find you another doctor. Don't be scared to make them answer your questions. Good Luck

  4. Help, I am a dope! I finally had a chance to meet my surgeon today, and I got my surgery date of 4/28 and there were questions I forgot to ask her.

How much pain will I be in after? It was bad but not bad enough that I wouldn't do it again in a heart beat! Does someone need to take care of me afterwards? since I live alone!!! I had my mother and husband to help with making sure I had my Water, meds, heating pad, ect. Will I be able to move at all on day 2 after I am released from hospital... I could move around but wanting to is another story. Will I have diarreha? after surgery? I didn't but I lost 15lbs in the first week mostly Water weight. Will I loose more weight, since she decided to use the smallest band? She said it was due to me being small.. 4'11/ 232 lbs. BMI 47. No its all up to sticking to the rules. Try your best not to cheat. I'm 5'7 started at 282 and now I'm 224 and haven't even hit my year mark yet!

I chose the date of 4/28 so that i can enjoy my favorite foods one last time I did the same thing and enjoy cause life as far as eating will NEVER be the same. but its worth it and learn more from you other banders...Ask lots of questions it will make you feel better sure I am scared too..I would say something may be wrong if you weren't scared a little But this is my 3rd major surgery, so I am an old hand at this.. LOL! Read lots on P-ing that is the worse part I think! Good Luck!

  5. Congrats to everyone! I dispatched for seven years in Mississippi then relocated to Houston. I had the sugery June 29, 2008. I wish I had it about 5 years ago. I'm down 64lbs, I go to the gym 5days a week if I'm not there I'm walking my new pup rottweiler. Once I get to my goal I want to go back to dispatching. Well I got to run.... Good luck to everyone!
