  1. I had a hernia repaired too; didn't know I had one. Recovery was easy peasy. I imagine if the hernia is bigger (you'd know if you had one probably), it may affect recovery a little more.
  2. I'm about 5 weeks out and eating solids. Not very many people know, and I'm finding it harder and harder to figure out social situations where food is involved. We're going to a BBQ tomorrow and I think it'll be tri tip. I can probably eat that, but I'll be full in 2 bites. I had half of a sausage link this morning and was stuffed. Solid, dense Protein isnt easy right now. Soup's a good idea, but it's going to be hot so that would be weird to bring... Any ideas for something I can bring that I can have more than a couple bites of? I'm just preparing to say something about dieting, low carb, etc but people are going to start thinking I'm anorexic! Lol I can't even have salad. I'm realizing that the social stuff is the hardest part of this whole thing. Hopefully it gets easier...
  3. I'm a month out and my surgeon wants my Protein intake at 100 g a day and no more than 600 calories each day. This is what I had today: Boiled egg white Protein shake (1 1/2 scoops) 2 oz lunch meat Protein shake (1 1/2 scoops) 1/3 cup cottage cheese 1 cup puréed Soup Water This was a little over 100 g protein and just under 600 calories. What's a typical day of food for you guys? I'm trying to mix things up...
  4. Oh...and Nectar cappuccino with almond milk and a little instant coffee in the morning.
  5. I love Nectar chocolate truffle mixed with bananas and cream. With about 1/2 almond milk and 1/2 water it's a treat.
  6. I was 188 day of surgery. I was in the obese category (I'm 5'5") and had high blood pressure. In the last few weeks my blood pressure has gone down and I'm in the overweight category. Weight loss has definitely been slow, so I'm getting used to that. I'm fine with slow loss as long as it continues until goal...
  7. Well that makes me feel better! Still the same stupid number on the scale...I'm 4 wks on Tuesday.
  8. I'm a patient of the fabulous Dr Cirangle. Self-pay... $17,500 to be exact. It includes follow-up visits for 2 years, but he actually sees you annually after that for 5 years. Let me know if you have any questions. His website is www.lapsf.com.
  9. Isopuke...I posted a thread about this a few days ago. Can't stand it!
  10. Protein makes breath smell too...I'm drinking tons of protein shakes and I cant stand my breath lately.
  11. I got pictures too! But at my post-op I need to ask him what I'm looking at. Lol I don't have a picture of my removed stomach though...that would've been neat.
  12. Haha! You can see who my surgeon is? I don't think I can see everything on my phone app. But yes...the weirdest crush. I think I had a dream about him.
  13. Lol. I've even told my husband. He's not even super good looking or anything. I think it might have to do with the fact that he treats obese people with respect and he gave me something that no one else has ever given me... He's gonna change my life! (I'm only 3 weeks out)
  14. I confess that I have a secret little crush on my surgeon!
  15. How far out are you? I'm 3 weeks out and my surgeon said I shouldnt be taking any pills at all...just chewables, sublinguals, and capsules. He said pills can get stuck. I have some smaller pills (birth control, etc) that are fine though.
  16. I can't. I'm almost 3 weeks out and can only have Soup (not creamy or chunky), cottage cheese, eggs, Greek yogurt, tofu...I think that's it. I think next week I can start tuna, chicken, and egg salad but I'm sure they'll tell me no to any crackers.
  17. Crazy how some people like it and some (like me) cant stand it. At least there's a bit of variety out there for all of us. Just tasted Syntrax Banana cream and am in love! Mix it with chocolate protein powder and that's a winner too!
  18. I have 5 but 4 are super tiny. I swear my stretch marks from babies are WAY worse. Won't be showing this belly off ever.
  19. Isopure is nasty. I can't see how some people like them.
  20. Oh really? I'll definitely try that.
