Hey July Sleevers!
- Hey July Sleevers!
I've stopped comparing myself to others lately and I am feeling much better. I know I've lost less than any other July sleever but I'm following my plan and I'm continuing to lose so that's all that matters. Surgery date was 7/31 and I started at 188. I'm 162.8 as of today so about 25 lbs total. I know that I have less to lose so it'll be slower. As long as it keeps going, I'm happy.- Beef Jerky
LOVE Trader Joes turkey jerky! But so does everyone else so I have to hide it...- Paying For Surgery
- Bmi 30
Just 2 days pre-op of liquids. My goal is 130-140 but I still can't see that happening. I have never been that small. I've been in my second stall and just want to see the scale moving again!- Bmi 30
Mine was 32 on surgery day (7/31). Progress is good but super slow. I was 188 and am 169 now...- Paying For Surgery
I took a loan out against our car, which had been paid off. But it was worth it...- Slow Loser

Same here! How much do you have to lose? I was sleeved 7/31 and have only lost about 20 lbs, but since I only have 60-70 to lose, I guess it's normal. Dr said I was on track. I hit a stall for 2 weeks during weeks 3-4 too.- Self Pay Friend Looking For Resonable Sleeve Price
$17,500 in Northern CA (Dr. Cirangle). Follow-up visits for 5 years and included pre-op testing. I know he's probably the most expensive surgeon out there, but he is a pioneer of the vsg and I love him!- Obese After Sleeve?
It seems like a lot of surgeons have "realistic" goals for their patients...goals that the patient seems to agree with. My surgeon has a goal lower than what I considered my goal! I'm 5'5" and think 130-140 would be great. He's thinking 120-130, which will make me a skeleton. But I guess I'm glad he has faith in me. I only have a total of 60 lbs or so to lose so maybe that's part of it.- How The Hell Do You Drink Isopure?

- 100 G Protein And 600 Calories?
Lol! It's probably because my last profile picture was of me and my husband and he was kind of in front... I just updated the picture.- Teachers? Where Are The Teachers?
Not a teacher, but a member of our teachers' union nonetheless. I'm a high school counselor in CA. I've decided not to tell work people. I'm almost 6 weeks out and lunch with my coworkers has been a little awkward but they think I'm eating smaller portions throughout the day and high protein/low carb. I feel bad because I want to tell a couple people that I consider friends, but I sooo don't want to hear the negative comments that I know I will hear. And things spread super fast at my school. My poor friend who yo-yo diets just as I did is frustrated at her inability to control herself with food and joked about getting her stomach stapled. I wanted to tell her but couldn't. I feel super lucky not to feel that damn hunger anymore... Anyway, I'm enjoying the positive comments on my weight loss right now.- 100 G Protein And 600 Calories?

I'm waiting to hear back from her...I wouldn't call my exercise program extensive yet. Lol But I should start doing more than walking soon...- 100 G Protein And 600 Calories?
I've mainly been walking (about 3 miles each time)...nothing major yet. I just joined a gym and want to start spin classes soon. My energy level isn't bad, which is surprising.- 100 G Protein And 600 Calories?
- 100 G Protein And 600 Calories?
Any suggestions on how to get in 100 g protein and stay under 600 calories a day? I'm on solids, but I figure there's no way to do this without at least 2 protein shakes a day...not much room for food.- Good Snacks?
I'm 5 wks out too and I'm in love with Trader Joe's turkey jerky. It's softer than regular jerky. Half a low cal protein bar, yogurt, soup, turkey meatballs, thin lunch meat...I still have 2 protein shakes a day too. - Hey July Sleevers!
