  1. Just curous if anyone has went to the Lifestyle Lift for their face. I am 57 and trying to decide on what I want to invest in. I know for sure I want the face and arms done. They are the hardest to hide. Even though I need it, I am not sure if I should have thighs, tummy and breasts.. LOL seems like a waste of money at this point in my life.

    Any thoughts?

  2. Lynda, I am 57 and was wondering what others close to my age felt about this. I am positive I want the face and neck work.. I am pretty sure I want to do the arms next. I may do the tummy but do not think I will do the thighs or breasts.. I am single will probably stay that way at this point in my life and dont see the necessity of new boobs.. Main concern are the things that are impossible or difficult to hide.

  3. I agree with Hynita.. It would be a perfect world if we could ask and expect everyone to help us but it just isnt like that.. You can control what you have in your own home and you can control what you reach for and put in your mouth.. That is about it.. I always dread it when i see a coworker has brought in something. Either I eat it or I dont but I can not ask them to not bring in the treats..

If you log everything you eat and do not go over your daily calories /carbs you will soon find it easier to resist those foods that are bad for you. They swallow up the calories and you are left with no calories left to eat and you are hungry.. :) Log eveything you put in your mouth.. You will find it very enlightening!

  4. Exactlyas Seela stated... Plus it is all subjective. I sort of feel negatively about the word thin as I do the word fat.. They are both extremes.. I think you look great and healthy and I am sure you probably feel 100 times better. From your stats you are still about 40lbs from goal.. I can see you probably getting VERY happy with about another 20.. I know why you are asking though.. I get confused when I look at myself too and I dont trust the people around me to be honest.. They love me so they are more worried about my feelings than anything :)

  5. Those people who judge have not walked in our shoes and I personally could care less what they think. You have to do what you feel you need to in order to get healthy.. I know if something happened to you because of the weight issues they would have wished you had tried something to get it off.. My sister died when she was 39 (15 years ago) due to obesity complications. They would not do the bypass because she didnt pass the emotional eval.. So 5 years later she died. I am pretty bitter about all of that.. I miss my sister and I wish they had taken the chance. It might have saved her. Anyways, my point is, it is about saving yourself. Nothing else matters.

  6. my disappointment is I look older. Now that the fat is no longer stretching out the skin, I can see the wrinkles in the face. That has been a hard adjustment for me. I am 56 but I never looked it before.. I am thinking very hard about getting a face lift because at this point I wouldn't be happy no matter what my body looked like. I can hide the skin on my body, I can not hide my face. :(

  7. I associate normal eating with serving sizes and keeping up with you consume.. if it says serving size is 4 Cookies, then I hope to eat only two and I hope to only do this occasionally.. I track everything so if I do eat those 2 Cookies it will be part of my allowance.. Once we are at goal, i hope to be able to follow the sayijng "everything is ok in moderation" But I will probably always track and weigh.. I dont want my weight to go the wrong way and not understand why.

  8. you need to track your intake if you are not. I like my fitness pal.. You can set goals and monitor your intake. i struggle with Water but I do better when I get my protien and water in. i do not drink shakes anymore. I eat meat, fish, chicken, beef Jerky and greek yogurt for my protien. I also eat lean cuisines and healthy choices.. When I 1st started eating them I could only eat half at a time.. I fear your bodu is in starvation mode and keeping your metabolism shut down at such a small caloric intake. You have to start adding calories to your daily intake.

  9. you just need to keep your eye on the prize that sounds like it would be your goal weight on your ticker.. You really need to keep tracking.. If you dont it can get away from you quickly.. This is the one way I eat a few things I want without stressing.. I track it and make sure I make up for it somehow. My weight loss has slowed down to about an avg of 1 lb per week.. I am happy as long as it keeps going down.. Stay focused.. If you find this is difficult, you may need a little one on one counseling to dig deeper :)

    Good Luck

  10. well I know i understand everyones opinions here but lets say you WERE sick... And they came up to you and said wow, you look great with all the weight you have lost.. And you know you lost it because you were indeed sick, isnt that just as or even more disturbing? I thank them and tell them I lost weight and how I lost it.. I feel better about being honest and dont care if people judge me. No sweat off my back :)

  11. maybe you should monitor your caloric intake for at least a week.. You might be suprised at the #'s.. The least that will do is give you a line in the sand so you know what to try going forward.. I am a year out and still monitor my intake at least 95% of the time.. It personally helps me and keeps me accountable.
