  1. I'm scheduled for surgery Monday with Dr. Kyack. Has anyone else had their procedure done at South SF Kaiser? If so, how was your experience?
  2. Sleeved 12 Nov. Went from size 30/32 to 20/22' Down 93 lbs.
  3. I got back on Sunday from my first trip after being sleeved. It was so nice not to have a seat belt extension to actually fit comfortably on a full flight. I'm down 90 lbs and the response from friends and family was great.

    problems with water

I drink infused water all day. I use cucumbers, mint, lemon, strawberries, pineapple. Anything I have. Cucumber is actually my favorite, just slice about a quarter of one poor it in my water bottle and refill all day long.
  5. I was sleeved Nov 12. Down 75 lbs. Still having problems getting all my calcium in daily. But doing good overall.
  6. @ Geri 123. You have UC? My daughter does as well and was told she couldn't have the surgery because of that. She has infusion s every three months. Has lost 55lbs from diet and exercise. But good to know.
  7. Dr K did my surgery as well. Love him.

    water aerobics

Aqua Zumba is fun. There are many people in the class that can't swim. One took some lessons and can't keep her out of the pool now. She's there five days a week. Really toned her up.

    water aerobics

Yes, it helped me loose me weight needed prior to surgery and I'm sure it has helped with my after as well. I'm down 59 total and was sleeved 12 Nov.

    water aerobics

I have been doing Aqua Zumba and Aqua Aerobics since August. I absolutely love it. It is so much fun especially the Aqua Zumba and both classes are full of real people. I have met so many nice people, one who had WLS two weeks before me and we have become great friends. Wonderful support system.
  11. Just wondering how everyone is doing that had surgery Nov 12, 2012. I'm down 58.5 lbs. Everyday is a process, some good some not.
  12. I'm suffering from constipation. In 4 weeks out and haven't went in 5 days. Any suggestions? Is this normal?

    constipation

Thanks for all the help. The Mom worked, feel much better and I'm going to look for the Chia seeds. I bought some crackers at Costco yesterday, got home and read the ingredients and they were in the crackers.
  14. I can't wait to buy at Victorias Secret
  15. At SSF I had one appointment with my surgeon and a final class, did them both the same day.
  16. Don't be disappointed, it will come really fast trust me. Two weeks out, met with my surgeon today as well. It sneaks up quickly, just think your on the downhill from 3 year wait.
  17. I too am two weeks today. Down 20 , lbs. Have had issue getting protein down as well. Doing ok with liquids. Discovered a yummy drink today, Costco's Premier Protein vanilla (30 grams) used as a creamer in decaf coffee, with sugar free Carmel syrup. I was able to get all my fluids and most of my protein.

    Thanksgiving

Its very difficult today. My home is usually full of family and friends this year I said I wasn't cooking. I was sleeved 11/12. Today is my Moms 92 birthday, so I made her a nice Breakfast. I actually ate about a half of a scrambled egg and I'm hurting now. I'll be glad when I'm on soft foods officially and they don't hurt. Protein shake and protein chicken soup for the rest of the day. I am thankful that my new life is started, and it won't be like this forever. Happy Thanksgiving all.

    Finally Did It...

Noel - I'm just one day ahead of you sleeved 11/12. From what I've read "buyer's remorse" is pretty common. I've had a little bit myself yesterday. It didn't last long, but I think it's common. What I found that helps me get the Water down is crushed ice w/my water or crystal light. I chew on the ice and drink a little as I go. Another tool that has helped is myfitnesspal app installed on my cell phone. My Dr told me about it back in July and I started using it right away to track my calories, activity and water intake. It is really easy to use and is a great tool. Hang in there and good luck.

    Shorties...

I'm 5'0" starting weight 321, surgery weight 309, current weight 296. Sleeved 11/12. Still on liquids, Dr said anything that doesn't need to be chewed . Good luck all.
  21. Slippers and a robe. Most important to walk walk walk after surgery to get rid of the gas pain. Good luck to you, you don't need much at all. I was just sleeved on Monday. Good luck.

    Shhhhhh.....its A Secret!

I had my surgery at Kaiser South San Francisco and all went really good. Getting stronger everyday.
  23. Doing well also. Went to the movies tonight with my friend that was sleeved two weeks prior. Thought it would be harder without popcorn, but we both made it fine. Brought my Water bottle and sipped all night. I haven't made it to 64 oz of Fluid yet, I'm about 48. Able to take little bigger sips each day. I'm the care taker for my 92 yo mother, so I continue cooking meals for her. That is hard. But, I'm making it.
  24. I was also Sleeved on 11/12. I came out of recovery asking to walk because the pain was so bad. 4 hours later the nurse helped me up and I walked so far she was shocked, but it was the only way I could get rid of the pain. I was released the next day. I'm having problems getting all my fluid down, but each day improving. Had BM yesterday and felt 100 times better afterwards, (sorry TMI). Under my plan I am able to have strained cream soups, so last night I had 1/4 cup of strained potatoe soup. It took me a while to get it down but it was good. Also, I've been adding crystal light to my water and that has helped as well.

    Is This Normal?

I just had surgery on Monday and was released Tuesday. All is well, I thought initially that it was too soon, but I'm doing great.
