Hey guys, just got back early this morning from being banded. I feel great!!! I didn't have any gas pains to deal with and my tummy is just a little sore. I had an amazing experience. I went to Dr Rodriguez in Mexico. He was wonderful, best bedside manner that i have seen in my 10 years of nursing. The hotel was beautiful!!! The Hospital was clean and had very modern equipment in the rooms. I can't say enough about the hospital and the staff!!! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!! Anyways, I am back and i feeeeel GREAT!!!!! YEAH!!!! I have lost some weight already but bring it on I am ready!!!! :clap2::clap2::clap2:

I am 3 days post op. I went to Mexico for my surgery with Dr Rodriguez. I wanted to come back here to let everyone know how my experience went. It was simply amazing!!! I had no problems with gas at all. My tummy is a little bit sore. Dr Rodriguez is the nicest person that i have ever met! His bedside manner is awesome!!! I am a nurse here in Ohio and i tell you that i have NEVER met a better Doctor. The hospital was very clean, the nurses spoke enough English that it was easy to communicate!! Just wanted to add that my hospital room had a flat screen TV and the top of the line cooling system, for those that expect Mexico to be trashy. The hotel that they put me in was top of the line. (So beautiful!!!) It wasn't a cheap place to stay by any means. $7750.00 and everything was included but the airfare. If you are a self pay and are scared to go to Mexico for any reason, please look into Dr Rodriguez. You won't be dissappointed!!! His assistant Barb is top of the line herself. You never have to go with a question unanswered, i swear she knows everything and if she doesn't she ask the Doctor and gets back to you promptly. Well guys, I leave for Texas at 3:30am. I wanted to wish you all a great surgery!!! My surgery is Tuesday in MX. Not too nervous yet, worst part was telling my parents good bye tonight. My hubby is traveling with me so things will be great!! I will be home Friday from my mini vacation..lol I will post when i get home. I have such a mix of emotions that it's hard to describe. This may be a stupid question but here goes anyways. Everyone talks about the gas pains. I understand that it is from the gas that they blow your tummy up with so they can better see where they are going. BUT is it a passable gas or is it just trapped air that has to disapate? Thanks

Hi everyone!!! My name is Amber and I am from Northwest Ohio.

My surgery date is June 12th in Mexico with Dr Rodriguez. I am getting very anxious. I kinda wish the surgery itself was over and i was on my way to a thinner me. Anyone else have the same surgery date? Would be nice to have a support buddy close by too.

I am having my lap band placed a week from tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone else was having one placed within a couple days of that date. Wanted to compare notes on nerves and things we feel at this exact moments so close to surgery. I am sooo excited but yet nervous at the same time!! I am on a preop diet high protein/low carb. The first couple days were horrible but i am getting better at it. Good luck to everyone!!! I have looked thru the before and after pics....You guys look great!!!! Congrats!!!

I am getting banded June 12th in MX with Dr Rodriguez. I would like to find a doctor close by to recieve my fills. Any suggestions?? (I am a plan ahead kind of girl)

Just wanted to spread some light on finding a doctor from Mexico. I am being banded by Dr Jose Rodriguez on June 12th. I am thankful i found him. His staff has absolutely been awesome getting me scheduled and ready for my surgery. I feel very confident and excited about my choice. I found my doctor thru a referral person. I wish i would have found his own personal website though. Being i went thru a referral person, which i had no idea she was, its costing me $300 extra. So i wanted to make sure that those of you that are looking for an excellent team find him at his website. JoseBand Give Barbara a call, she is awesome!!! It upsets me that someone is making money off of helping us get healthier.

I have my surgery scheduled with Dr Rodriguez in Mexico on June 12th. He sets you up with US doctors to help get your care after surgery. You don't have to go back to Mexico for fills. The cost of my surgery was $7700. They are great with getting you set up. Take time and research your options. You will find the option that feels right to you and you will know it. :clap2: Congrats on your surgery date, I am also scheduled in Mexico only with Dr Roriguez on June 12th. I think that we go thru alot of feelings and phases as our dates come closer. I don't know if this will be comforting or not but i am a nurse here in the US and we have complications here as well. Nothing is full proof. I have researched everything i can possibly research and i see nothing wrong with most doctors and facilities in Mexico. I think our biggest struggle in life is anxiety, fear of the unknown. I wish you luck with your surgery and dealing with the stress & anxiety. If you follow your Doctors pre and post op instructions i am sure that you'll do fine!!! He was a bit more expensive, not that i haven't heard that he's good. I am a mother of 5 and money does play a role. Dr Rodriguez has done as many as Dr Ortiz. Both Doctors have a great pt base and testimonials along with medical reputations. Still in the thinking process. Thank you for your interest though.

Going to Mexico for the proceedure, been researching the materials that the Drs have sent to me. Top 2 Doctors that look the best to me are Dr Rodriguez and Dr Aceves. Help me!!:nervous

Hi everyone, been trying to find financing to have my lap band placed. I recently got married to a man that had a new bankruptcy in his credit history and it's killing me. Anyone got any ideas??

:help: Looking into getting my band placed in Mexico....the few people that i have told that i am going to do this have voiced concern about infection. Can anyone tell me what the hospitals and Doctors are like there? :help:
