  1. I'm sure there will be some choices on your boss' menu you'll be able to eat and will be sleeve friendly. Once you get your plate, remember to take small bites, chew-chew-chew, put your fork down, and jump in the conversations going on! Shove the food around so it won't be too noticeable how little you are eating. And, for the inquisitive folks, your doctor has you on a very restricted high protein/low carb diet to boost your metabolism!!! Then give a very "coy" smile and say, you're loving the results! Go have fun.com! Our sleeve did not doom us to shy away from life. If anything, it has opened the door to fuller, richer, healthier lives.
  2. When were you able to have greens(collards, turnips, mustards, etc..) again and how far out?
  3. Hahahaha!!! So glad I'm not the only one with the office chair that is not rearend friendly!!! I'm gonna buy a gel cushion for my chair or there will be very little work getting accomplished!
  4. I'm finally under 300 lbs.. I'm 292 lbs., total loss 72 lbs. Have lost 54lbs since surgery!!!
  5. See if you can bring along a bottle of G2 or powerade with you to the concert. You might be quite thirsty and being at a concert is quite awhile to go without fluids! Just a thought! By the way, wishing you the Best of Luck!!!
  6. It really does get better!!! Really, it does! If you need to rest for a bit, do so! For the most part, many of us did not look like we'd been through major surgery when we came home from the hospital!!! But, remember, you have just undergone major surgery and there are a lot of changes going on in our bodies. Yes, there are some bumps in the road on this journey, but, I wouldn't change a thing! I'm two months out today and I just slipped on the jacket to a jogging set that I bought back in February. The pants fit quite snug and I couldn't zip the jacket at all. Today, the jacket more than fit. I could zip it up, and I've got spare room in it! Now, the pants are a little too roomy, lol!!! A day like today makes it all worth it! Hang in there, you'll be fine!
  7. My blood pressure has been well within normal range for three weeks now!!! Hooray for my sleeve and I!!! My primary doctor d/c'd 3 of my 6 meds today and is weaning me off the other three. I've been on meds to treat my hypertension for 29 yrs! For all the low points we may complain about concerning our sleeve, this is definitely a high moment! This is worth any "UGH" moment I may have.
  8. All your husband has to say is that he needs the time off to care for you due to an illness. He does not have to divulge the specific info as that is confidential and your personal business, even though it's your husband requesting time off.
  9. Sounds like there is a light at the end of the tunnel, lol!
  10. I'm taking Miralax now every day like I was told to. Not being hardheaded anymore!!! Also, being more diligent with the amount of fluids I'm taking in has helped alot. Have you tried Milk of Magnesia, etc.? But, call your doctor and let them know you're having issues and see what they advise! Happy Pooping:)
  11. Has anyone noted any improvement in mobility and/or level of pain post sleeve? Since I can't take Ibuprofen/NSAIDS, acetaminophen just doesn't cut it on the real achy days. There is some improvement with mobility and pain but, not as much as I had hoped for. I'm 8 wks out so, maybe I'm just impatient! I don't know if I should consult with my orthopedic doctor, my primary, or my surgeon? I still have to use my walker, when I have to do any substantial walking, because my knee will suddenly buckle on me.
  12. Take smaller sips! I know it's a "pain", excuse the pun but, you have to. It will get better day by day!!!
  13. @Mensch, I tried chicken according to my schedule @ 4 weeks and my tummy wasn't happy. Now at 7 weeks, had about 2 oz and all went well! It was delicious!!! Sometimes you just have to wait and try in a week or two.
  14. @Seelessofme. I've been having mostly fish, tuna, eggs, and surprisingly roast beef hash with scrambled eggs. The first few times I tried chicken my tummy said, "NO". So, I waited a few weeks and yesterday, my tummy said, "Not bad!" I, think I'm being too cautious. I don't like the slight cramping pain I get when something doesn't sit quite right. So, I agree, with taking it slowly and above all, listen to you tummy!!! I'm glad you're doing well!!!
  15. My doctor told me if I need a protein shake to get my protein in to have it. He just told me to be patient it will come in time.
  16. @lanuevanicolasa, congrats! Just keep sip, sip, sipping away! Have a sf popsicle to switch things up. The kids would get me a sf slurpee from 7Eleven for a "treat", lol!!! @SweetQui, glad to hear your doing well:) Keep that loser's wheel spinning!!!
  17. That is wonderful!!! So happy for you! Have a great time shopping:)
  18. How's everyone doing? You guys are so quiet, lol!!! Just checking in!!! Hope all is well with my fellow sleevers!
  19. Just go with what you're tummy will tolerate. You're still swollen. It took me quite a while to tolerate some things I was OK'd for. Try those things next week. It may be tolerated then. Don't worry about it!!! Get you're fluids and proteins in. Can you tolerate greek yougurt or any light yougurts without fruits added?
  20. @Butterthebean, you're funny. Keep the 90 degrees. It feels like Fall here today!!! Enjoyed lunch, the few bites/spoonfuls I had. Ordered a cup of soup and an appetizer. My tummy handled all very well. BTW, I have plenty of leftovers. My friends contributed to my leftovers over my objections, lol!!! I'll freeze the soup for another day. I did order unsweetened tea with a lime and lemon slice, sometimes plain ice Water and my tummy aren't on good terms with one another!!! Kids!!! SMH!!! But, had a good time!
  21. Thanks folks for the suggestions! I appreciate it:)
