4 for me. I also had my gallbladder taken out 11 years ago and my surgeon was nice enough to make an incision where my gallbladder scar was so I didnt have an extra scar.

Same thing happened to me. Lost 15 lbs by my 10 day post op and didnt lose any more until 1 month post op which was today....then it was only 3 lbs....but at least I didnt gain. Dont give up!

They want you to lose 20% of your weight. Many times the surgeon will NOT do the the surgery if you gain. They want to see that you are serious about weight loss. You should be able to lose some while you take the options class. I only lost 15 during options class but should have lost 45. Like I said, as long as you dont gain any weight you should be ok...but ultimately it is up to the surgeon.

Thats awesome! and encouraging....had my surgery 8/20 and have only lost 15 after surgery. 15 before surgery so 30 total. I hope I'm just as successful as you : )

I am still on soft foods....cottage cheese, any type of cheese, refried Beans, mashed potatoes, tuna, any fish and of course the liquids like Jello, pudding, sugar free popcicles, I have an appointment with the surgeon next week and hopefully will advance me to a regular diet. I also need to stay off the scale, but it was so encouraging to loose 15 pounds in 10 days that I was hoping the weight would continue to come off. My sister in law had the sleeve in January and she has lost 50 pounds. She also told me to stay off the scale. Uggh....I have started walking 30 minutes 5-6 days a week so Im hoping this helps kick start the weight to start coming off again. Just hang in there, Im sure you'll do great!

Surgery was on 8/20 and lost 15 pounds by my 10 day post op.....BUT I havent lost anymore weight since then. Its a little frustrating. Good luck to you!

I walk 30 minutes on the treadmill daily. I had my sleeve on 8/20. You can walk just no lifting weights til your surgeon says ok. In fact they want you to walk to prevent blood clots....good luck to you and your husband

Usually they wont do surgery if you have a fever, otherwise just let your doctor know whats going on.

What is the success rate?
How long will I be off work?
How many surgeries have you done?
What is the recovery time?
>>>just to name a few questions to ask......good luck to you

Everyone is different. I was miserable with nausea and vomiting for the first 2 days. Not to mention I had chest discomfort from all the gas they use to inflate your abdomen. My surgeon told me I was on the extreme end of having nausea and vomiting. As for the gas, the more you can move, the better. It will go away quicker. The problem for me was the more I moved the more I felt like vomiting . I had hardly any pain though, that was a plus. Im 3 weeks post op tomorrow. Good luck to you....when is your surgery?
-
Yes, call your doctor. You can easily develop pneumonia post op. Check to see if you have a fever also....either way, let your doctor know.

My surgery was also 3 days ago and it was more difficult than having 2 C-sections and 1 Gallbladder removal. My surgeon told me that most people do not react the way that I did.....lots of nausea and vomiting. I also had a lot of gas trapped in my abdomen and chest....thought I was having a heart attack. The first night post op was the worst. Good luck to you. Most people do well with the Sleeve, at least that is what people who has had it done say. I agree with you though, this was the hardest thing I've ever done also
