    Embarrassing....

I think the worst thing about this is that the adults didn't have the sense to know that it would become more embarrassing than helpful at some point. If it's any consolation, the last boyfriend I had before I met my husband was slender but wide in the shoulders and had trouble with rides that had to go over his shoulders. From what I've heard, rides are designed based on the prototype for certain clothing sizes.
  2. I would say not to advance too quickly. Surgeons are different. I wasn't allowed to eat whatever until 6 weeks. Perhaps your surgeon's plan is too much too soon for you.

    Is Something Wrong?

That's because you aren't taking in anything with real density yet.

So Nervous About Crossing The Border!

There's nerves and then there's intuition. Figure out which one you're experiencing and govern yourself accordingly.

    Question..has Anyone Experienced This?

My surgeon said dizziness is either low blood pressure or not enough protein. In my case it was low blood pressure.

Please Tell Me I'm Not Done Yet!

Not as far out as you but I've heard that throughout the process, one will experience stalls at usual landmarks. I don't know if 5 months is one of those landmarks or not. If you know you are lacking in exercise, you should get on that just for general health reasons regardless if it jump starts your weight loss or not. I hope you get a more detailed answer at some point though.

    Chinese Buffet

At about 8 weeks post-op, I had some PF Chang's and it wasn't a big challenge for me. Then again, I'm not a noodle or rice person. My big thing is sweet and sour chicken and sesame chicken. I looked up the nutrition info before hand so I knew exactly how much I could eat without doing any harm. I'd say the main thing is to prepared. Make sure you are cleared to eat the foods and then plan how you'll handle it. Also, there are pretty decent Chinese food recipes online that can be modified to suit your particular diet. But, yeah, stay away from buffets because the concept of buffets is just nasty.

    Venting...

This is good. You can probably see if you can get him to agree to a lump sum so you can be done with it more quickly. I know one thing for sure: most women can do whatever they need to do for the well-being of their children so I wouldn't even let the prospect of being a single mom deter you if the situation is dragging you down enough. Your state of mind will eventually start to wear on your children as well so if you need to split....split.

    Is Something Wrong.

If you're at goal, you should find where your maintenance calories are so that you will neither lose nor gain. Usually, you factor in your physical activity to determine where the balance is.

    Protein Chews?

Twinlab has some but the only issue is that you have to take 4 tablets for 4g of Protein. They are called Amino Fuel 1000. It does come in liquid form though.
  11. Same here. I'm coming up on 10 weeks and I'm so over chewables. Suddenly, I just could not take the after taste. I take regular ones now with food. At this stage, I agree with trying the liquid Vitamins. My husband used to take Alive liquid but it is very...um...organic tasting.
  12. I have the same plan and I didn't have 5 years of weight history because I only went to the doctor when something was wrong. I don't know what the surgical coordinator did but I got approved anyway.

    Stupid Carb Question.

I keep mine very low. I let my fat be my fuel.

    Nutritionist/ Insurance

Well, with my insurance, it was required that I have 1 visit with a nutritionist and it was not covered by insurance so I had to pay in full for it. All we talked about was vitamins and how to prioritize meals. If your insurance requires it then you have to do it.

    I Gained 15Lbs!

Well, the insurance approved it based on his diabetes. But he ended up switching doctors and had to start the process all over. He got approved based on comorbidities.

    I Gained 15Lbs!

Oh, he went with another doctor. The doctor that did that is very popular in DFW but he's unsavory.

    I Gained 15Lbs!

That sucks but at least you are doing it the organic way. One doctor made my husband put on ankle weights and weighed him again so that he would be approved for RNY.

    Best Protein Shake?

I'm not really doing shakes anymore but I do like ISS Oh Yeah! in Cookies n' Cream (RTD) and Protizyme in Chocolate Cake (powder).

    Tooth Ace

I've never heard anything like before either. I didn't know that your teeth atrophy from non-use.

Sleeved Sept 19Th Dont Feel Restriction

Once you are released to denser foods, you'll feel it.
  21. In my case, I had nausea and was given IV drugs for it and prescription pills for home. I still have them though and I'm 10 weeks out. The nausea was short-lived (and in my case, I think it was due to the anesthesia). Now, occasionally, I'll get the sour mouth queasiness after eating but that's only happened three times since surgery.

Tell Me About Your Post Op Care?

SIGH...here we go. Actually, I asked you that because I may have some information for you that may be helpful because I am familiar with your surgeon. What I find funny is that you initially "liked" my post at some point and I guess that's when your need to feel victimized set in and you decided to make it something it wasn't. Where did I make any of the comments that you allude to in your response? In fact, your disproportionate response makes me think that YOU are the one who is insecure about the pre-surgical due diligence that you didn't do. Nonetheless, don't ATTEMPT to jump down someone's throat when they simply ask you a question because you end up looking like the fool, not them. Good luck.

Where's The Beef ( And Chicken And Pork )

I can eat it all. Steak does better well-marinated or with a little marbling and I eat mine well done. Poultry is not problem. Beef is no problem. I don't mess with pork because it's nasty but I'm sure if I did, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Chew it well, add a low-carb sauce if need be. You should be okay.

Tell Me About Your Post Op Care?

Did you research your surgeon before you chose him? Just curious. Anyway, I had my post-op visits scheduled before I was ever operated on. My doctor takes aftercare very seriously. There's a patient who is the size of a stick and she still comes for regular check-ups.

    Liquid Stage At Sonic?

I don't know about the slushes but I do get the unsweet tea with the low-cal diet cherry flavoring a couple of times each week. I'm 9 weeks post-op though.
