I just found out that I will be going on an unexpected trip. I don't think I will be able to pack my shakes with me. Are there any Protein pills or something small that I will be able to take? I am 12 days post-op as of today (8/12) and by the time I fly I will be 4 weeks post-op. I know that I will be able to eat some fish and chicken by then' date=' but I don't want to risk not getting enough Protein. Can anyone help me out here?[/quote']You can buy a small food processor that you cn ack in your bag. Process meat avocado spinach and dip flavouring. Maes a great protein el that digests easily. With the shakes that should do the trick.

I quit after a quad bypass.....really easy decision when the alternative is death. You are probably in this zone. Weigh it up.....there is a difficult trip but the alternatives are not acceptable. Good luck XXX

I feel for you I was really nervous about a non reversible operation.
Wham I woke up after the operation I ad some discomfort for a short time but apart from that no issues.
Liquid sage is a doddle.....short time and you will not be hungry so it is not an issue you need to worry about.
All the best, happy to talk to you anytime .... BTW St Andrews is amazingly good.

Hello everyoneI have an appointment next week in Greenslopes. The doc at the seminar had some girls that had been banded or sleeved who said there was a combine support group in Brisbane. I would really love to hear from any brissy people or even Aussies that have accessed there super to pay for there treatment. I have the APRA forms and will be seeing my doc on the 19th where he will be giving me the extra paperwork for lodgement with APRA.
Does anyone know how long it takes for the lodged application to go through? If I had my way I would of had the surgury yesterday. Sooooo many hours researching the ins and outs of band vs sleeve' date=' finding out pros and cons either way (sleeve being far superiour from what I can see) but really wish I could spend some time with a sleever/group of sleevers to get the inside story or even just feel closer to getting somewhere.
I have only told my hubby, my mum and my step mum about this and they really cant give me the insite i need. (well......my mum had chrones and pretty much got some of this surgury by accident)
I feel like I'm going out of my head waiting. I'm not good at waiting once I have made a decision. LOL it took me about a year to actually MAKE the decision.
Anywho....thanks to anyone with some answeres (and thanks to the admin of sleeve talk <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':confused1:' />)[/quote']
I am in Annerley. Went to Greenslopes for a sleeve 2 weeks ago. No side effects or negative issues. 9 Kg down today and loving it.....re the money side I. Am not sure but drawing down on Superannuation is simple and easy depending on your age. Happy to discuss further f it will help.

To me this is about living longer and maintaining a healthy and happy life style. I had a heart bypass surgery in 2010 which made me wake up to wat s important.
Anything i choose that will improve my quality and length of life is surely nothing to be kept secret.

I am new to this site but so far like what i see.I am 278 pounds right now.I am a diabetic and have high blood pressure. I am 27 years old married and have two children. My husband says in taking the easy way out in my decision to be sleeved and has made it perfectly clear that he does not support me in any shape or fashion not only will this help my self esteem but i also have many health problems.I really need a support system right now any suggestions? He is selfish. Ignore him. This s about you.

So I just joined this Forum and I'm loving the informative real to life topics..But can anyone tell me if you've had pre surgery doubts and pre surgery excitement at the same time? Ever since my initial appointment a few weeks ago' date=' I've been thinking about this surgery 24-7 and I don't even have a surgery date or approval from my insurance co!! My BMI is over 40. So, basically , I'm a shoe-in! I'm half way done with my required tests that are needed (bloodwork, sleep study, 5 year weight history). Still waiting on psych eval and ekg to get scheduled. My dilema is, Half of the time I'm scared that something will go wrong during surgery and I will never get to see my kids again and the other half of the time I can't wait to get this over with so I can be healthy and thinner! Its insane this emotional thought process of a roller coaster.
I just want this to be done and over with so I can get on with my life. I don't want to be at the hands of an insurance co to decide whether or not they will pay for it. I don't want to be at the hands of a dr that can seriously screw up and F my life up. But I do want to be healthier, more confident and be here longer to spend with my children...I'm all over the place..someone, anyone, please tell me this is normal?? <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote']
