  1. I totally agree, it is not worth a leak and it does take time for the stomach to heal. Take your time, you will feel better about it in the long run
  2. Wow! You are truly an inspiration. You have answered for me all the things I have been thinking, wondering, needing to know. I will be one week post op tomorrow. I was a size 4 for alot of years, but it has been a long time. My bmi was 36 also, but I am 4'11". I turn 50 next year and I want to be a size 6 for my birthday in april. Thank you for saying no regrets and that you would do it again because I have had serious moments of anxiety and tears since the surgery and I truly was ready. Hearing your story has made my night! Thank you
  3. Ok, I have a question. I am one week post op....I have not "gone" since before the surgery, is this normal? should I be worried? I mean I know nothing is going in so I guess there is nothing to come out. Just wondering.
  4. Thank you, makes me feel better to know Im not alone. It is a strange feeling I have never experienced before.
  5. I am 5 days post op and feeling great. You will be fine. Congratulaions on your new beginning!. Prayers are with you.
  6. Karen I have had al the same feelings and questions too. I found it very hard to like myself in my own skin. My husband of course would say he loved me the way I am, but as you said I didnt love me. I had the sleeve done 5 days ago, I feel it's been a life changing event. The thing that I felt most important is that this was for me no one else. The pain was really not too bad, the first two days were the worst. You will find all kins of info on this site and make some good friends it has helped me tremendously. Welcome to VST. Dawn
  7. So I am now 5 days post op. I have to say the for the most part physically I feel pretty good, except for the gas. I do keep getting these overwhelming feelings of panic and sadness even though I'm not sure why. Has anyone else experienced this?
  8. Hi Everyone, So I am 3 days post op and all went well. Both Wed and Thursday I had a lot of pain, but today it seems to be getting better. I did tell him I cheated, he was ok, but told me for the post op diet liquids onl and no cheating the staples and stomach need to heal. So I worred and worked my self up for nothing, Thanks for all your support
  9. I am on day 3 post op and I said the same thing, feels like I did 1000 situps. I believe everyone when they say it gets better! Thanks so much
  10. Tomorrow is the day, 10:30 AM, I need to be there at 8:30. I am so excited yet so scared. I am ready though. Thanks to all of you for your words of encouragement and knowledge. I will keep you posted.
  11. I cheated today to. My surgery is Wednesday. How did your surgeon respond.
  12. I had been doing so well, not even hungry. Saturday, I ate a cheeseburger. Sunday, 2 bites of a slice of pizza, today so scrambled eggs. I dont even know why. My surgery is Wednesday. Tomorrow I do all clear and will make sure I stick to it, but should I tell my surgeon about my slips? I know its more about the liver than the stomach, I just feel so guilty!
  13. Does your company not have short term disability? Than you can keep your vacation days.
  14. I have surgery on the 15th too. I bought Yasso smoothie packs at costco. They have bananna/strawberry with little frozen pieces of greek yogurt. With 1 scoup of vanilla protien, 1 cup nonfat milk or vanilla soy and 1/2 a package of the Yasso in the blender, its really filling and tastes really good. Not a commercial for
  15. Thank you, all of you @Shape_Shifter, you are right, that is a very good comparsion. I know that all of us are on this journey and honestly, this site alone has helped me so much with the support and knowing what others are going through too. Its a great feeling to know your not alone. One huge thing for me, is my two close friends at work decided to do the protien shakes as Meal Replacement for Breakfast and lunch ( I told them they had to eat dinner) and they have lost weight and are so happy. So if you can get a buddy to do some of it with you, it really makes a difference. We gather in the breakroom in the AM and Lunch, I break out the magic bullet and we make shakes, we laugh and talk about different flavors, they have really made a difference in my attitude about this whole thing. We all have our journey, its so nice to be on it with so many others.
  16. Best of luck to you too! It will be great!
  17. I am almost there!. I am now on day 10 of the all liquid diet, and I have to say, its going easier than I thought it would. I had pre-op at the hospital yesterday, met with surgeon. Things are on mission GO!. I keep thinking that I should be more nerveous, but Im not. For the first time in a long time I feel in control, I feel like I have a grip on it and I am so ready!. All of us deserves a fresh start and I just cant wait till 10:30 AM on August 15th. Thank you all for the support!
  18. Do you have anyone else that can support you? Your recovery is going to be so important, and you will need someone to help and support you. A relative? Friend? someone from your support group. You need to do this for you. You are the only thing that matters right now and being able to be healthy and around to see those girls of you grow up. Please dont cancel, you can do this.
  19. Why were you in the hospital for 5 days? Did you have complications?
  20. I wont miss wearing a sweater over my top to work on the hottest days of the year because I'm fat and it hides my stomach. I wont miss having to buy x-large and wearing a tankini. I wont miss all those oversized tops in my closet . I look forward too a whole new wardrobe. I look forward to going for a regular massage and not being the fat girl. I look forward to being sexy again for my husband and leaving the lights on. I look forward to a whole new life Thanks UT Gal for starting this link!
  21. Hi Newbie, All really good questions and thoughts, I have them myself. But, what if you did not lose weight and get healthy, what if your pre-surgery weight makes you sick to a point where you could not do any of it anyway? What if you get hit by a bus tomorrow? (metaphorically of course) You can still do all those things, just in a healthier way. Its just time to only focus on you. Do whats right for you and not what if's. Go to those resturants, share a meal. Go on vaction, choose wisely (do you ever really eat and drink enough vs the cost, I would bet not) Just know that its about you, your health and well being. He loves you, and will be there for you, yes relationships change even without WLS. Be strong.
