  3. Hello all! I am a lurker and read most posts. I just want to lend a little encouragement if someone needs it. I had my surgery on April 24th last year. I started out at 297, lost 15 per surgery and am now 167 with a total loss of 130#. I still have 7 lb to go to reach my goal of 160. I am 5'8" And a size 10. I have tons of skin especially on my stomach. I plan to have a TT and breast lift with augmentation in September. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Pho?

I drank the broth on Clear liquids. We go to a pho restaurant every week. I actually don't eat the noodles and actually don't like them so much anymore as they taste starchy now. I now eat barbecue chicken, drink a little broth and have 1/2 an egg roll. The pho has a lot of salt and I noted that I don't loose if I take in too much salt. Sent from my iPhone using VST

  10. Hello all, Well, It has been a little over 8 months since surgery - 4/24/12. I am down 116lb. The weight loss has slowed, but not as much as I thought after updating my signature. I only have 21lb left to my original goal. I am beyond happy with my sleeve and have o issues with tolerating anything. Sometimes I wish I had some intolerances like to sugars. I am keeping pretty good with my diet, though not perfect. My biggest problem is exercise. I have not been able to get out and get to it. I am trying to jog, but it is slow going. I can jog about 1/2 of my 2 mile walk in intervals. I am happy with that, just not the frequency that I can get out to do it. I think I would be loosing faster if I could exercise more. I am delighted with the way I look in clothes, not so much without them. I just wish my belly would go away!

    March/April 2012 Sleevers

I am with you! My surgery date was 4/24/12. I started at 297 preop and am now 187. It has been slow going lately with only 6 lb last month. I am just happy I am still loosing! I have about 27 left or so and am a size 12. I am 5'8". Sent from my iPhone using VST

  13. Ok, I am so ridiculously happy right now! Tomorrow is my 6 month surgiversery. As of this morning, I have lost over 100 lb! Also this morning I am no longer obese, now just overweight! Last week I made it to onederland! I am now 196.6 lb and a size 14. I started at 297, a size 24. I lost 15lb preop. I still have about 36 lb to get to goal. I no longer have a doubt that I will get there. I have had a couple of short (1week or less) pauses in weight loss including our week long vacation in the Dominican Republic where I ate what I wanted including dessert at lunch and dinner (no gain). I have lapsed with the exercise and know if I start back I will loose faster, but motivation is just not there. Anyway, sorry for the long post but I am soooo happy with my VSG!!!!! The first two pics are day of surgery and the next two are this morning. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Major Scale Victories!

Thanks! No secrets really. I try to eat varied calorie intake so that the body does not get used to anything. Exercise makes a difference. When I get lazy, I don't loose as much! I try to do low carb, but not fanatically. Just follow the rules and the weight will come off. I have totally loose skin. As my husband says it is like a 5 lb weight in a 10 lb bag. I hope it tightens up a lot. I will have to have a tummy tuck though. I have 3 kids including a set of twins that went full term so the skin was stretched by that a lot! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Major Scale Victories!

Ok, to answer preious questions. A regular day for me includes a pure protien bar for breakfast, lunch somewhere varries with sandwiches or fajita taco ect. Dinner is chicken, pork, steak, fish, or seafood. I have not had a protien shake since being alowed to eat mushies. I don't count calories, but eat about 800 to 1000. I mainly look at protien and make sure I get my 60grams. I do eat carbs but try to keep it around 50-70g. My nut suggested 100-150g but I try not to go that high. I avoid sugar mostly. I also try to keep my fat intake to aroung 40g or less. I was doing really well exercising with about 30 min on the tredmill and 30 min with weights, but since school started for my kids I have had difficulty with motivation to go.

    Major Scale Victories!

Thank everyone! Evidently I can't update my ticker from my phone. So it will have to wait. My body is far from normal, but I hope it will be close someday. I definitely will need plastics. I feel so much better and even find myself chasing my kids around! My experience has even converted my husband who will probably be having the surgery done next year! Previously he was a " just eat like you have had surgery" guy. Obviously that did not work for him either. Sent from my iPhone using VST
