  1. I was wondering when we'd hear from you. I'm very glad to hear allis well...thus far. I hope it continues for you. And congrats on the 5 lbs! That's a great way to kick it all off.
  2. Welcome everyone. We are all gonna rock our sleeves out!!
  3. Welcome to the novembers loser bench!
  4. That is wonderful to hear. I love reading your posts. You're a true "thinspiration". Lol. Keep up the posts please!
  5. Thank you! It's such a relief. Now onto the rest of my pre-op classes. Insurance gets submitted in 4 weeks!
  6. Ok my friends....update. My positive H. Pylori and two week regimen of meds have now cleared me for surgery from GI. So all clearances are in.
  7. I had mine at an out-patient surgical center. Good news is...despite testing positive for H. Pylori and taking two weeks of meds, I am officially cleared by GI for my 11/20 sleeve date! Ugh. So stressed about that.
  8. That's great!! Hope time flies and you have every success!!
  9. I'm glad I don't live in Cincy. My grandmother is in west Chester. I wouldn't be able to give up Skyline Chilli or LaRosa's Pizza. Mmmmmm.
  10. I've tried to tell my aunt that. She wants to make this fancy broths, soups, etc. I'm like I have to keep it simple or I'm gonna pay dearly for it. I need to heal. If what I'm putting in postoperatively is healthy...it's gonna be delicious to me.
  11. Tell who you want, when you want, how you want. And for my fellow ladies, please don't get offended or tell him he needs new friends. That's how some family and/or friends are to each other. Speaking as a woman raised solely by her father, I have surrounded myself with male and female friends alike that we bust chops like that all the time. Most people wonder if my sister and I even like each other. But it's all in good fun and neither of us take offense. Hell, my father had prostate cancer at 47 and we have been busting his b*lls ever since. Every pun intended. It's how we show love and affection.
  12. My doc requires a two night stay for the most part. But since my mother is going to take care of me post op, I'm hoping I can go home early. She's an ICU nurse and has been a nurse for over 22 years, plus is going to school to be a nurse practitioner. So I think I'm covered. Lol. But again, it's up to the surgeon and I'm gonna follow orders like a good little soldier.
  13. Then it's on like donkey kong people!! Lol
  14. Everyone looks absolutely amazing! Cannot wait to be on the losers bench with all of you!
  15. Thank you Susan!! Sometimes a gentle reminder is what is needed. I move that everyone just let these posts go and move on to other topics that will prove more beneficial to our individual journeys.
  16. Sorry to hear about your complications but so glad to hear how we'll you're doing. I hope it's smooth sailing from here on out for you! Keep us posted on your progress.
  17. Good luck people!!i cannot wait for my turn.
  18. I figure if some are at the tail end of the month, they still have a full month to participate. And what a way to start the new year right. I plan on hitting 2013 running. Lol
  19. Dannon just released a new Greek yogurt that is minimal on sugar. And if you want Greek yogurt but minimize the carbs and/or sugar...I recommend plain and then you can add fruit, sweeteners like stevia, etc. just a thought.
  20. I'm not sleeved yet, but my doc told me from day one...no carbs post op for a minimum of 6 months. That is because you are in the "honeymoon" phase of weight loss. You will lost the most in these 6 months if you make the right choices. Besides...I love the saying: "nothing will ever taste as good as skinny will feel". That being said, I would not elect to deviate from a strict diet during that time.
