I guess my mind set and having spoken to my doctor about my fears and concerns have allowed me to not want to weigh or even be disappointed if the weight is now just falling away. I'm know the body does strange things in order to compensate for trauma and this surgery is trauma, part of a organ is being cut away. I know I will win the race it's the view along the way that I want to take in. So stalling would allow me to view what the body is doing and how it's healing. I figure with 40+ years of obesity, what's a little stall every now and then? Keep up the fight! Sleevers rock!
  3. Two days away and I will have crossed the finish line. Today I have been eating SF Popsicles all day along with broth. I don't fell hungry. I just could not drink another Slimfast! I plan on having SF jello for tomorrow. I will be packing shortly. I'm so excited. I don't want to over pack. I have to drag that stuff three flights up once discharged. So light is the way to go. Thinking of wearing a maxi dress or draw string shorts; Simple comfortable clothes. Hope it's not super hot when I'm discharged. I plan to walk the hall until my first post op visit. Then if all cleared I can do the stairs and I can walk the track. I also wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughts as well as the great advice and feedback to all the sleevers on this site. It has been a great help. Continued success on this journey! Karen
  4. It work on my iPhone and iPad. Sometimes you have to go to the beginning of a thread the select the > it then takes you to profile and you can make edits there.
  5. I have mine plus I have fiber choice tabs that I can chew.
  6. I didn't tell anyone at my place of business. They have known I've been working out like a fiend and eating healthier for months now. I did tell my boss I would be out to have surgery. But they did not ask and I did not tell; the laws say I don't have to. He just said to take care of myself and return healthy. Oh I plan too! Healthier and smaller. :-)
  7. Had the hair cut yesterday going to dye it today trying to decide if I want to be blond or red. Lol Will get dressed shortly in order to have feet done. Then home to do all last minute cleaning and packing for Monday's surgery.
  8. I go to Homecoming every year at the university I attended. I found a pretty gown for a function. The 16 fit but I purchased the 14. By October I know I will be that small. I'm working to hard not to be. Lol
  9. In May I wore a skirt that was rather snug. Today I put on the same skirt and i can spin the waist band around without any problem. It looks wonderful! The pounds are falling away and the dress sizes right along with them. What a great feeling. I can only imagine what it will be like after surgery. The Salvation Army and Goodwill are going to receive tons of clothes from me soon. So excited. I can't wait to purge the closets. I have planned to start with my winter clothes. All 22/20 are going out the door. I have a pair of jeans that I keep as motivation. I try them on once a month. I plan to try them on Sunday before surgery so I can see how far I've come to my goal. Let them fall is what I say, let them fall!

Thank you all for the well wishs and I greatly needed the hugs. The family is doing much better. In fact my niece has been really good all week and told me yesterday that she plans to stay at my place the week of surgery, she'll arrive once I get out (Tuesday) and look after me. I figure with doing clear liquids for the first week there in not much to prepare, scoop some jello in a bowl or heat some broth. I don't want to tax her either, this heat has not been kind to her. Again, thank you all for your kind words they are greatly appreciated. Karen
  11. Days away from surgery and the skin is getting a bit better. I find that if I put lemon in my water it helps greatly. I guess the pre-op diet and the lemon water are a good detox for the old body. LOL
  12. We will be welcoming the new us! LOL
  13. I want to look fabulous when I hit the operating table in 4 days. It's a little vain, but is so rare that I am. I figured I would get a hair cut tomorrow, then once home dye my hair. I want to shave the legs and pits (doc said no shave two days before surgery), and have my feets loved on some. Mind you, I will look like a freight train hit me or at least may feel like it once out of recovery, but when I do feel better these will be things done to the 3 weeks I am off I will be ok. The blood thinners should be finished by then as well and on my last day of recovery do it all again in order to return to work . I want to find a nice dress my new body show-off. LOL My excitement is just starting to build. My niece surprised me and is doing better and has opted to take a week off of work to stay with me. I could just cry I am so happy. I plan to do something really nice for her. Well I'm off to a SF drink. This hot weather has me sucking up fluids.
  14. I was looking at your ticker, and you are almost to goal. Way to go!
  15. Find out first if your insurance will cover the procedure, then see what the requirements are to proceed. Then find the hospital you want to go to and set up a consult. They will then take you though what is next.
  16. Happy Sleeve Day to those being sleeved tomorrow.
  17. Happy Sleeve Day to all the July 17th sleever.
  18. Wonderful! Keep up the great work.
  19. So you send the pictures to the doctor, he then makes an assessment. You work out the price, schedule an appointment then get and airline ticket and fly out? Sweet! I can't wait to save my pennies for a tummy tuck.
  20. Slow and steady is the race. Hang in there.
  21. Oh how did I forget that! I carry 4 at all times.
  22. Happy Sleeve Day to all July 16, sleevers! Keep us posted when you can. All the best to you!
